Chapter 528: Heading Back to Midgard
Chapter 528: Heading Back to Midgard
“Don’t worry, son.” Lucas patted Alaric’s shoulder with a faint smile on his face.
“What do you mean? If we don’t go there now, Midgard will be captured by the Veronican army and all our troops will be killed!” Alaric was starting to get anxious. He left Yvanna there.
Ignatius, Galanar, and a few other powerful warriors were there, but most of them were still recovering from their wounds. Furthermore, the Veronican army had half a million troops, several times more than their numbers.
Lucas chuckled. “Relax, son. Let me explain.”
Taking a deep breath, Alaric furrowed his eyebrows as he nodded his head.
“He is there. His Majesty himself is there to handle the situation. I just got the letter from His Majesty.” Lucas grinned.
Hearing this, Alaric’s eyes widened in disbelief. “His Majesty came in person?”
John Phillip Astania, the ruler of the Astanian Empire, was one of the most renowned Mythical Knights in the surrounding nations. It was because of his presence that no nation dared to attack Astania over the last few decades. The only reason Harune dared to invade was because of the rumors about his failing health.
He suddenly recalled what his birth mother had told him back then. She said that the emperor was most likely faking his illness to lure their enemies into attacking Astania.
It was all a ruse, a plot he had carefully planned out to punish the imperial family of Harune for forcing his sister, Jade Kristine Astania, into marrying their crown prince.
Thinking about this, Alaric felt a wave of complex emotions.
“That’s right. His Majesty should have already met with Donovan and the Venerables of the Veronican army by now. With him there, they wouldn’t dare do anything.” Lucas nodded.
Alaric frowned. “But they have four Venerables on their side. Will His Majesty be fine on his own?”
No matter how strong the emperor was, could he fight against four Venerables? Even someone as strong as Arcientus perished after being ganged up on.
Lucas’s expression suddenly turned serious as he replied. “Son, the emperor isn’t as simple as you think…”
“The only way to become a Venerable is for one to control their own domain. Without comprehending a domain, a peak Transcendent Knight will never advance no matter how experienced they are in battle.”
Alaric was confused. Why was his father telling him this?
Lucas continued. “The stronger your domain, the more powerful you will become once you advance to the realm of Venerables…”
“In His Majesty’s case, he mastered two domains. The first one was during his advancement to the Mythical Knight realm and the second one was something he had comprehended later on.”
“His Majesty mastered two domains?” Alaric was stunned.
His father who was recognized as a rare talent only comprehended the Wind Domain. As for Alaric himself, he was a special case. He only mastered the ice domain at the Transcendent realm because of the system.
Looking at his stunned face, Lucas chuckled while shaking his head. “It’s hard to believe, but it’s true. You will understand once you see him in person.”
Alaric fell silent.
Lucas didn’t disturb him. Even he found it unbelievable. If he hadn’t witnessed it in person, he would have thought that it was impossible.
A Venerable having two domains only happened in stories or myths.
“I must go there, my lord. I won’t rest easy until I see them safe.” Alaric spoke after a moment of silence.
Regardless of whether the emperor was there, he wanted to make sure that everyone was unharmed.
Lucas didn’t stop him. With a stern look, he reminded his son. “Alright. If you happen to see His Majesty, you must be respectful. Do you understand?”
“Yes, my lord.” Alaric nodded.
“You may leave. I will handle everything here.” Lucas waved his hand.
Alaric bid his father farewell and immediately went back to the mansion to make preparations.
While he was sorting his personal items, a notification appeared in front of him.

Alaric furrowed his eyebrows.
The mission difficulty was easy, but he knew that things could change depending on the circumstances.
The priority now is to confirm the status of everyone in Midgard.
He closed the cyan screen.
After making his preparations, Alaric stepped out of the mansion and summoned Caecus and the others who had followed him here in Zurcath.
The five Transcendents soon gathered at the empty space in front of the mansion.
“Everyone, I have no time to explain so I will make this quick.” Alaric stared at their faces.
Caecus and Fredrinn who had sustained the most injuries in the last war had already recovered.
“We are heading back to Midgard.” He announced.
The five Transcendents nodded.
Seeing this, Alaric turned around and made a whistling sound.
Roaarr!!
Zephyr’s roar echoed from the distance, reacting to his call.
In the next moment, the Draconic Lion emerged from the sky and descended in front of them.
Whoosh!
“Let’s go!” Alaric jumped onto Zephyr’s back. The five Transcendents quickly followed.
Zephyr flapped its wings, roaring majestically as it soared into the air.
Roarr!!
Up in the sky, Alaric was still feeling a bit restless.
Please be safe, everyone…
“Your Highness, can you tell us what happened?” Fredrinn’s voice suddenly drifted into his ears.
Without turning his head, Alaric calmly replied. “I received a report that the Veronican army is heading to Midgard…”
“His Lordship told me that someone is there to handle the situation, but I need to go see it myself.”
Hearing this, they no longer asked him anything.
