Chapter 3749: Yong Hengs Assault

Chapter 3749: Yong Heng's Assault

Yanbo Haomiao and Yanbo Hongli stared at the blood spraying across the sky. Yanbo Shu had been killed so easily.

Yue Ya’s eyes locked onto Chao Yi. “You cannot touch those two.”

Chao Yi glanced over at Yue Ya. “Do you truly intend to protect Ruler Garden and stand against my Deathmound?”

“You are the reason why Ruler Garden submitted to me, so of course I will protect them from you.” Yue Ya’s Voidheart Mirror circled around Yanbo Haomiao and Yanbo Hongli, especially protecting Yanbo Haomiao, who had been gravely injured by the High Seraph’s Everlasting Will. There was no doubt that Chao Yi could kill the old man.

While Yue Ya’s manifested thought had also been scattered by the High Seraph’s attack, Chao Yi could not see that.

Besides, he could still use his Reversing the Mortal World.

Old Chief and the others emerged from the mounds and moved to surround Chao Yi.

Emperor Slayer trembled in fear. Where had so many experts come from?

The two vague ghostly shadows hovered around Chao Yi. He exerted tremendous pressure on everyone present.

Chao Yi stared intensely at Yue Ya. “Let’s see how long you can protect them for.”

With that, Chao Yi closed his eyes. He did not move from where he stood.

Yue Ya’s eyes narrowed. If possible, he would have already killed Chao Yi. He had risked everything, and Yue Ya knew that he could not hold back. Unfortunately, Chao Yi’s strength was overwhelming. The man alone represented three peak Dukkhans. While his cultivation had not been achieved through his own efforts, his many years in Deathmound made it so that there was no difference in his combat strength.

On top of that, the Grand Master had surely provided Chao Yi with some means of preserving his own life.

It would be exceedingly difficult to kill Chao Yi.

It was no small matter that he had succeeded in becoming the master of Deathmound’s Sixth Peak.

Yue Ya felt lucky that Chao Yi had arrived as late as he had. If the man had arrived a few moments earlier and joined forces with Lu Yin, Yue Ya’s people would have been the ones to flee the battlefield.

“Focus on recovering from your injuries first,” Yue Ya transmitted to Yanbo Haomiao.

The old man nodded, though he still cast a wary glance at Chao Yi. It was vital that Yanbo Haomiao heal quickly, as being slow would mean death.

“Oh, I forgot to mention—Ruler Garden is already gone,” Chao Yi suddenly announced, his tone as indifferent as ever.

Yanbo Haomiao’s heart sank when he heard those words, as he understood what they implied.

Ruler Garden had sent all of its strength to support Yue Ya in the Consciousness Megaverse, but that meant that not everyone had made the journey. Weaker members had stayed behind in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, including Yanbo Hongli’s parents. All of those people were already dead.

Yanbo Hongli’s face went ashen. She stared at Chao Yi in a daze and asked, “What are you saying?”

Chao Yi met the woman’s gaze. “You were once qualified to enter the Scion Spire, just the same as me. Blame your Ruler Garden.”

“What happened to my parents?” Yanbo Hongli screamed.

Chao Yi coldly replied, “Killed without mercy.”

Yanbo Hongli’s pupils shrank. As she continued to stare at Chao Yi, boundless bloodlust surged within her eyes. Her breathing grew ragged, and her pupils flickered as her Wildcat’s Aid attacked downwards, only to be blocked by Chao Yi’s Twin Ghosts.

Without those Twin Ghosts, Chao Yi would have been ripped apart, but so long as they circled around him, the claws could find no opening.

Yanbo Haomiao placed a hand on Yanbo Hongli’s shoulder. “Don’t be in a rush. After we’ve recovered, we’ll definitely kill him.”

Panting, her eyes blood-shot, Yanbo Hongli glared at Chao Yi. “I will see you dead! Without a doubt!”

Chao Yi said nothing. There would be an opportunity.

The situation had just become even more complex. Chao Yi’s arrival had destroyed Yue Ya’s previous plans. Before, he only needed to capture Lu Yin, but now, he also needed to deal with Chao Yi.

If Deathmound and Lu Yin joined forces, things would grow even worse.

Old Chief’s voice entered Yue Ya’s ear. “Lu Yin and the others must have hidden themselves in a parallel universe. We should stay here so that we can keep an eye on this Chao Yi, as well as the High Seraph. He won’t give up on entering Willbound Spire. That place is his only chance to turn the tables.”

Yue Ya glanced at Old Chief. “If we face Lu Yin again, you should not join.”

Old Chief nodded in a helpless manner.

Yue Ya glanced at Chao Yi once more before withdrawing the Voidheart Mirror. Yue Ya started to focus on restoring himself.

There were many battles ahead of him. He would either transform or die. There was not a third path for his future.

...

Everyone expected Lu Yin and the Origin Progenitor to escape to a parallel universe. While that had indeed been their plan, they were unable to proceed with it, as they had been attacked by Yong Heng.

Despite escaping from Yue Ya’s ambush, it was not possible for Lu Yin to evade Yong Heng.

After being carried away by Everlasting Will, Lu Yin and the Origin Progenitor ran into Dao Convergence sequence particles.

During the battle in the Willbound Expanse, Lu Yin had forgotten about the hidden threat that was Yong Heng.

Sword images sliced through outer space. Each time one shattered, Yong Heng was given a temporal option.

No matter how much Lu Yin and Origin Progenitor ripped space apart to flee into a parallel universe, they were forced back by the shattering sword shadows.

At this moment, Yong Heng proved himself as the lord of Aeternus. This was the invincible foe who had fought against Tianyuan’s humanity for so many years. This man had never been Lu Yin’s ally, and he never would.

Lu Yin shattered another sword shadow with a palm strike, only for another sword to slice at him as Yong Heng drew closer and closer.

The High Seraph had intended for his Everlasting Will to carry Lu Yin and the Origin Progenitor far away, but Yong Heng had altered the course of the attack. With no other choice, Lu Yin and the Origin Progenitor had been forced to get off of Everlasting Will and attempt to escape with their own strength.

Had they refused to do so, the diverted Everlasting Will would have directly delivered them to Yong Heng.

The Verdant Arsenal erupted behind the Origin Progenitor, while divine energy boiled around Yong Heng. With his Natural Art, a terrifying sweep of power shattered every weapon in the Origin Progenitor’s Verdant Arsenal.

Yong Heng was demonstrating a level of strength that surpassed the Origin Progenitor, even after he used the Nine Heavens Transformation. This was Yong Heng’s true power.

Lu Yin and the Origin Progenitor had both been wounded beforehand, and they were in no condition to face Yong Heng. All they could do was escape.

Unfortunately, nothing the two men attempted could shake Yong Heng off.

Lu Yin released his powerful consciousness in a burst, but Yong Heng countered with divine energy that drifted out like clouds.

Lu Yin attacked with Heaven’s Blade, and Yong Heng used Dao Convergence to forcibly alter the sword’s target.

Lu Yin used the Heaven and Earth Lock, and Yong Heng countered with Dominion. Divine energy replaced the sky, and if the heavens were altered, how could the Heaven and Earth Lock seal anything?

Lu Yin released Mr. Li from a Zenith Mountain. Like the others who had been released, Mr. Li had also received Lu Yin’s promise. The man was completely unwilling to return to the Champions’ Stage Purgatory, so he released his Undying Stroke. This attack had once made even Lu Yin nervous.

Unfortunately, the attack veered off course as soon as it was released, and it targeted Lu Yin instead.

Lu Yin was caught off guard and ended up being saved when the Origin Progenitor shoved Mr. Li away. That allowed the attack to miss.

Mr. Li was startled, as he could not understand why his attack had gone after Lu Yin.

Lu Yin stared at Yong Heng. “The Chiliagonist.”

Lu Yin was not mistaken; Yong Heng had controlled Mr. Li with the Chiliagonist’s innate gift. The Chiliagonist had been one of True God Guard captains.

With a wave of his hand, True God destroyed a lantern. It had borne the names of both Lu Yin and the Origin Progenitor.

Bone Grafting. Yong Heng’s innate gift was Bone Grafting, and he had used it to personally create the race of bone grafters. By replacing his bones, he could obtain anyone’s power. It was a truly terrifying gift.

This innate gift had given birth to the Ossis Ark, which had left the Immemorial Citadel and the countless elite there struggling to survive.

Yong Heng had already used the Eight-Star Garan innate gift with his ability as a bone grafter, and he had just revealed the Chiliagonist’s innate gift as well.

Lu Yin could not imagine just how many innate gifts Yong Heng had kept hidden. The thought of all these hidden abilities was chilling.

As the lantern was destroyed, Lu Yin and the Origin Progenitor both coughed up blood. They exchanged glances. Their only option was to escape. Yong Heng had fully recovered from the wounds that he had received during the first battle in the Willbound Expanse, while Lu Yin and the Origin Progenitor had just received fresh wounds. Given their conditions, they were no match for a Yong Heng at full strength.

Again, Mr. Li was controlled by Yong Heng and forced to attack Lu Yin.

From his inner universe, Lu Yin released Epoch Blades and the Tomb of Mountains and Streams. He used every last sourcebox array he had prepared and hurled all of them forward.

Mr. Li’s pupils shrank, and he was instantly enveloped by the numerous sourcebox arrays.

The universe was torn apart, but not even that could dim the brilliance of the divine energy that was present.

More and more sword shadows appeared. They were unstoppable as they shattered all around Lu Yin and the Origin Progenitor, preventing them from escaping to a parallel universe.

Alone and with only a single sword, Yong Heng wielded divine energy and split the universe asunder. The cosmos shook and the Consciousness Megaverse swayed.

In the Willbound Expanse, Yue Ya and the others all looked over. Had another battle erupted? Could it be Yong Heng?

Yue Ya’s face drew dark. He had fought against Yong Heng before. That had to be who was fighting, but who had he attacked? Mo Shang or Lu Yin?

Chao Yi peered into the distance, where he could see the divine energy. The sight of the unknown energy caused his heart to quail. If Deathmound gave off the impression of a decaying grave, then this energy was a blood-soaked blade. This person was someone else who stood at the peak.

In another direction, the High Seraph also looked over. So, has Yong Heng also entered the fray? The Consciousness Megaverse has truly become a battlefield. Since the final clash is about to break out, some are bound to die. Who will survive in the end?

Divine energy flooded the sky, but the Origin Progenitor waved a hand. His Verdant Arsenal pierced it all and ripped the divine energy apart.

Lu Yin seized this chance to absorb the energy.

While divine energy was Yong Heng’s power, it was also Lu Yin’s.

The star of divine energy within Lu Yin’s inner universe spun frantically.

Yong Heng remained calm. The dark-red color of divine energy seeped into his eyes, and a powerful aura exploded from him. Space itself was pushed back in a series of rippling waves. A single step brought the man within reach of Lu Yin and Origin Progenitor.

Lu Yin watched as Yong Heng drew near, and he remembered seeing the man once uproot the black Mother Tree and carry it away. At this moment, there seemed to be no limitation to Yong Heng’s physical power.

Yong Heng and the High Seraph were among the very few who possessed enough brute power to force Lu Yin to step back in a direct confrontation.

If Lu Yin had been at his peak condition, he would not have minded testing his physical strength. No matter how physically powerful Yong Heng might become, unless he reached the Immortal realm, it was impossible for him to instantly overwhelm Lu Yin. Unfortunately, things were different at this moment.

In the face of Yong Heng’s overwhelming attack, Lu Yin released a spiral of karma.

Yong Heng was able to ignore every power, except for karma. The man feared karma even more than the High Seraph, for Yong Heng held secrets that Lu Yin could not be allowed to glimpse.

Seeing Yong Heng retreat, Lu Yin let out a breath. He used his Karmic Dao to release multiple spirals of karma that all shot at Yong Heng.

True God was able to defend himself from karma, just like the High Seraph, but he could not dedicate his full strength to defense. His goal was to kill Lu Yin and the Origin Progenitor. This attack was no mere test.

Yong Heng continued to avoid the spirals of kamra while also preventing Lu Yin and the Origin Progenitor from escaping into a parallel universe.

The two men fled frantically, trying to shake True God off.

While the Consciousness Megaverse was vast, it was not large enough for a prolonged chase between such high level combatants.

“Hmmm... had I known this would happen, I would have confiscated the Heaven’s Seal sequence base, ignoring Old Salamander,” the Origin Progenitor lamented.

Lu Yin replied gravely, “That isn’t your fault, Senior. Old Salamander is connected to the Gate of Laws, and even the Nine Odysseys Megaverse keeps an eye on that place.”

After they captured the Spirit Nidus’s four battleships, Old Salamander had been seized by the Origin Progenitor. The man had intended to take Heaven's Seal for Lu Yin, but Old Salamander had threatened to kill himself if the sequence base was taken. Normally, the Origin Progenitor would not have cared, but Old Salamander had then revealed something that had forced both the Origin Progenitor and Lu Yin to pay attention.

Old Salamander’s real name was Zhan Qian, and he was a member of the Gate of Laws’ Zhan family.
