SSS-Ranked Surgeon In Another World: The Healer Is Actually OP!

Chapter 264: The Traveller!

Chapter 264: The Traveller!

Bale rubbed the bridge of his nose, the tension seeping out of him now that the pressure was gone. Interacting with SSS-, SS-, and S-ranked beings was never easy.

He was only A-rank.

In raw power, the gap between him and those people was immeasurable. Even when they restrained their auras, the psychological pressure alone was exhausting, like standing beneath a mountain that might shift at any moment. And yet, despite that, the main Adventurer Guild had entrusted these matters to him.

Because this, this was where Bale excelled.

Coordination. Diplomacy. Logistics. The unglamorous but essential work that monsters of strength had neither the patience nor the inclination to handle. He was the bridge between power and practicality, the one who ensured that decisions actually became action.

Still…

Bale clenched his fist briefly.

His class was SS-ranked.

And he’d been stuck at A-rank for far too long.

Maybe, just maybe, constantly standing in the presence of beings far stronger than himself, enduring their pressure head-on without backing down, was exactly what he needed to break through whatever wall held him back.

He let out another slow sigh and raised his smart bracelet. A holographic interface bloomed into view, a list of contacts scrolling rapidly past his eyes. Too many names. Way too many. Bale slowed the list, then stopped entirely, lips twitching as realization set in.

“…Why am I even stressing myself?” he muttered. “Finding him the normal way would take forever.”

He lifted the bracelet closer to his mouth.

“Call the Traveller.”

The command registered instantly.

Bale straightened unconsciously, shoulders squaring as he mentally braced himself. The Traveler always answered. Without fail. And every single time,

Bale regretted it.

The call connected.

No delay.

That, at least, didn’t surprise him.

What did concern him,

Was what he was about to see.

Bale frowned the moment the call connected, because nothing appeared.

No image. No projection. Just a blank shimmer hanging in the air, unhelpfully silent. A strange sense of premonition crept up his spine, the kind that usually meant trouble had already started.

Then,

“Nyah~ Sir… don’t rush so much…”

Soft, sultry voices spilled out of his smart bracelet, layered and unhurried, as if he’d intruded on something he was very much not meant to hear.

Not one voice. Several. Bale froze.

“Heehee… you’re always so impatient when you visit us,” another woman teased, her tone lazy and playful.

“Ah~ slow down… we’re right here, Sir…”

The voices overlapped, light laughter, breathy murmurs, the unmistakable cadence of women practiced in indulgence. It wasn’t explicit, but it didn’t need to be. The intimacy alone painted a picture vivid enough to make Bale’s temple throb.

A rough, amused chuckle followed.

“Hahaha… you girls really know how to spoil an old man,” the Traveller said, voice thick with satisfaction. “Careful now. If you keep talking like that, I might forget why I ever leave this place.”

“Forget?” one of the women laughed softly. “Then don’t leave at all.”

“Yes~ stay a little longer,” another added sweetly. “You promised us a long visit today.”

Bale pinched the bridge of his nose.

’Why is an old man like him such a pervert…’

Before Bale could interrupt, the Traveller paused.

“…Hm?”

The background shifted, fabric rustling, footsteps crossing a floor. The indulgent haze thinned.

“It seems someone is calling me,” the Traveler said casually. “Wait for me, babies.”

A chorus of soft laughter answered him.

“Don’t worry, Sir~ you’re our favorite customer.”

“Just don’t keep us waiting too long, okay?”

The Traveller laughed, full and unrestrained. “Hahaha, Debbie, you really know how to say the right things. All three of you do.”

More footsteps. A door creaked open, then closed. The layered voices faded, replaced by quieter air and distance.

Bale stared at the hovering hologram with a deeply conflicted expression.

Then,

“So,” the Traveller’s voice came again, clearer now, amused as ever. “What’s up, Bale? You know, if you got yourself a few women to enjoy life with, you’d have better things to do than disturbing me all the time.”

Bale’s eye twitched.

He was not in the mood.

“You mentioned Invaders some time ago,” Bale said flatly, cutting straight through the levity. “I have something interesting for you. The Anomaly has encountered several. Enough to catch his interest.”

There was a brief pause.

Then a low laugh.

“Really?” the Traveller said, clearly entertained.

“Yes,” Bale replied, voice steady. “I’m serious.”

Silence followed.

It wasn’t long, but it was absolute.

“…I see.”

The Traveler’s tone shifted instantly, the playfulness draining away as if it had never existed. What remained was sharp. Focused. Dangerous.

“Send me his ID,” he said. “And his current location.”

Bale didn’t hesitate. He transmitted the information immediately.

As the connection held, Bale exhaled slowly, a chill settling into his chest.

Things had just become serious.

And when the Traveler took something seriously, the world tended to follow.

By the time Bale made his call, Bruce had already descended to the lower floors. The elevator doors slid open smoothly, releasing him back into the guild’s inner levels, where Lucen was waiting just outside. The guild official straightened at once upon seeing him and extended his hand without hesitation. Bruce accepted it, the gesture brief and professional.

“How did things go upstairs?” Lucen asked, his tone polite, though curiosity flickered unmistakably behind his eyes.

“Unbelievably smoothly,” Bruce replied honestly.

For a fraction of a second, Lucen’s composure cracked. Surprise flashed across his face before he recovered and smiled. “That’s… good to hear.”

Bruce nodded once and continued on without lingering. He passed back through the pub, where the noise struck him all at once, music pounding unevenly through the space, mugs slamming together, laughter spilling freely as adventurers drank, danced, and desperately tried to forget how close death had come for them this week.

As usual, it didn’t take long.

A few drunk female adventurers noticed him almost immediately.

“Hey~ you’re back already?” one called out, swaying as she smiled brightly at him. “Come dance with us!”
