Chapter 746: But I don’t have a clearance level?

“Well, no,” Riniya conceded.

“But that’s only because they never anticipated someone from outside the known universe having one,” Shalendra protested. “I mean, it takes the combined tech of multiple races to make one.”

“Well, I’m afraid that’s an error on their part,“ Adam replied. “Besides, from what I’ve seen, my force staff is more advanced than those used by Universal Senator bodyguards.”

“Adam’s not wrong,” Liluth remarked. “Just that energy barrier he put in place to protect me back then is still something we can’t replicate.”

“Well, regardless, I hope you understand the trouble that using one will bring,” Riniya said.

“Senator Pevaphio has explained what I should expect upon arrival at the Universal Senate,” Adam replied.

“Well, that’s something,” Riniya remarked. “I must admit I’ll be most interested to see how you handle yourself.”

“That almost makes it sound like you plan to attend personally,” Rowena remarked.

“I’m considering it,” Riniya said with a smile. “Then how about Eytelis accompanies you to the supreme speaker selection? After that, she can return to Solarian Prime.”

Adam considered the suggestion before turning to Eytelis and asking, “What do you think?”

“Although I would rather return to Solarian Prime with you so that I can show you around, I guess what Riniya is suggesting is fine,” Eytelis replied. “But you have to promise to come visit me in the future.”

“Don’t worry about that, Eytelis,” Liluth suddenly said. “After all, he still has to keep the promise he made to me about us meeting again, and no, Adam, this doesn’t count.”

“I guess that’s settled then,” Riniya said with a smile.

“Looks like we’ll be heading for Solarian Prime again in our future,” Rowena chuckled before looking at Liluth and saying. “You know, I’m surprised at you, little Liluth.”

“What do you mean?” Liluth asked.

“I was expecting you to insist on attending the supreme speaker selection yourself, just so you could reunite with Adam,” Revi said with a wink.

“I won’t deny that the thought didn’t cross my mind, but unfortunately there are a couple of reasons why I can’t,” Liluth explained. “First, Tessa and I have yet to start our negotiations. Then there is the fact that I’ve just started a new project and I need to oversee the construction of its space station.”

“Wait,” Adam said in surprise. “Your project requires the construction of a new space station?”

“That’s right,” Liluth said proudly. “It’s both highly classified and highly dangerous, which is why I’m having a new one built.”

“I can’t even fathom the cost it would take to build a space station,” Emma remarked.

“Seems you still have a lot of studying to do,” Aphrodite teased.

“Unfortunately, you're right,” Emma said with a sigh. “I guess the silver lining is that I can do it while relaxing on the beach of Aqua Primus and ask Erkath for any help I need.”

“Sounds like a plan,” Aphrodite replied. “Also, feel free to ask me for help; I know a thing or two about running a business myself after all.”

“Since when?” Rowena asked in disbelief.

Aphrodite chuckled before saying, “You don’t think I hung around Astarte and didn’t pick anything up, right?”

“Well, I guess since you couldn’t fuck her, you had to find some way to pass your time,” Stacey remarked.

“Right,” Aphrodite replied.

The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

“Ladies, please, remember the company we are presently in,” Lorelie scolded before looking at the holographic screen and saying. “I apologise for those two.”

“It’s fine,” Liluth said dismissively. “It’s to be expected from Diva Aphrodite after all.”

Lorelie smiled in return before asking, “If your new project is so classified, should you even be mentioning it to us?”

“It’s not like I’ve told you what it entails,” Liluth replied while shrugging.

“Then I guess that about wraps up everything we have to discuss right now,” Riniya stated. “Enjoy your vacation, Eytelis.”

“I plan to,” Eytelis replied before the call ended, and she added. “Well, that went easier than expected. So when do we leave?”

“Fed up with my planet already?” Revi asked with a smirk.

Eytelis shook her head while saying, “Not at all, I’m just eager to visit the beach.”

“Well, you're not the only one,” Revi admitted.

“Just to change the subject for a moment,” Adam suddenly said before looking at Emma and asking, “Have you made up your mind about whether to get a neural implant?”

“I have been considering it,” Emma replied. “Are they really that beneficial?”

“Well, it will help you memorise the material you need to study on Aqua Primus, as well as anything else you ever want to learn,” Aphrodite stated.

“How long would it take?” Emma asked.

“Spector?” Adam asked.

“The operation to implant the neural implant will only take a few hours,” Spector replied.

“You're not suddenly going to gain control of my body or some crazy sci-fi shit, are you?” Emma asked with a smirk, though they could tell part of her was seriously concerned about that.

“Negative. The section of your brain that the neural implant is attached to is not responsible for sending commands to your body's motor functions,” Spector replied.

Emma sighed before showing a determined expression and saying, “Alright, let’s do it.”

“Affirmative. Please proceed to the med bay when you're ready to begin the operation,” Spector instructed.

“Speaking of the med bay,” Revi said while turning to Adam. “What medicine did you give to Eytelis that it even affected the Solarian Prime's great tree?”

Before he could respond, Spector announced, “Insufficient clearance level.”

“But I don’t have a clearance level?” Revi asked in surprise.

“Exactly,” Spector replied. “To know the answer to your question, you will need level five clearance.”

“Honey, grant me level five clearance, please,” Revi said sweetly as she smiled at him.

“Good luck with that,” Aphrodite remarked. “Seems you need to be his lover to get that, and even then only Rowena has level six access.”

“Well, I’m practically lovers with him,” Revi responded.

“Wait, does that mean my access level will increase once Adam is my mate?” Tephe asked excitedly.

“Now look what you’ve done,” Rowena said with a sigh, but Aphrodite only smirked in response.

Adam also sighed before saying, “While your access level will increase, my original remark about you proving that you wont go up to the bridge to fire the weapons because you are bored still stands.”

“Ok,” Tephe said in disappointment.

“Yeah, the last thing we want is her launching a solar bomb,” Stacey said in amusement.

“True, I’d rather my system's sun didn't get blown up,” Revi teased.

“Hey!” Tephe complained.

“But seriously, when are we planning to head to Aqua Primus?” Eytelis asked.

“Technically, we could leave anytime, but we’re waiting for Adam’s recovery time to pass so that we can just jump there,” Rowena explained.

“Well, if that's the case, does anyone want to go explore the capital since we’re here?” Eytelis asked. “I’ve never visited Fenix Nest after all.”

"Sure, why not,” Rowena said in agreement. “I mean, it’s not like we really have anything else planned.”

“Why don’t you all go show Eytelis the capital while I remain here to oversee Emma’s operations?” Adam suggested.

“You sure you're not just trying to get some alone time with another woman?” Lorelie teased, causing Emma to blush slightly.

Adam smiled before saying, “She’s already nervous enough about the whole thing, so I figured it would be best if I accompanied her. I’ve already gone through the procedure myself, after all, and I think listening to my input as someone from the same race will help.”

“That does make sense,” Revi said thoughtfully. “We all had our neural implants installed when we were still children, after all.”

“Plus, it’s something we all see as common, so of course she wouldn’t share the same viewpoint as all of us,” Aphrodite added.

Emma looked at Adam and smiled gratefully. “Thank you.”

“Don’t mention it,” Adam replied before standing up. “Shall we head to the med bay?”

“Sure,” Emma replied as she also stood up.

“You all have a good time,” Adam said with a smile before he led Emma out of the mess hall.

Revi watched him leave before turning to Eytelis and asking, “So where do you want to go first?”

“The festival,” Tephe said excitedly.

Reef Galaxy, Aqua Primus.

“God damn useless roasted birds,” A Syngnathidae said in annoyance as she stared at the holographic screen before her, which was providing an update on Diva Lorelie’s condition after the attempted assassination.

“The guy had the perfect chance to get rid of the bitch, but he just had to screw it up. I mean, how do you fail to kill someone you're stabbing in the back, fucking useless.

First, that bastard on Oceana Seven fucked up by not even trying anything, and now this useless bird.

Still, I wonder who hired the useless bird? I guess I’m not the only one who wants her out of the way.”

The woman stared at the screen for a moment before adding, “Whatever, not like it matters. I’ll just have to take care of her myself after she arrives.”
