Sea Survival: My Luck is Off the Charts

Chapter 382 - 380: One Silver Treasure Chest After Another

As the days went by, Faye Yardley became more and more proficient with her Illusion Magic, using it with increasing ease.

At the same time, she had also gone more than ten days without sleep.

When she wasn’t in the training room, she was constantly reading novels.

The worlds within the novels were truly spectacular, and the authors were filled with all sorts of fantastic and ingenious ideas. Their rich imaginations gradually filled the voids in Faye Yardley’s own.

Today was September 21st. The 23rd marked the end of the safe period, so Faye Yardley planned to send all the novelists who had signed agreements with her, along with their families, to the island today.

To her surprise, this batch consisted of 28 families, totaling nearly 200 people. Faye Yardley had never expected the initial two families to grow into so many.

Compared to the country’s total population, this was less than a drop in the bucket, but for these 28 families, it meant the world.

Of course, this number included some of the novelists themselves who wished to come to the island.

After notifying Wyatt Thorne, she sent island confirmation letters to these people. Those who wanted to leave could do so within the next two days.

Ethan Yardley, of course, knew why his sister was doing all this; after all, he had taken in six fledgling writers himself.

Fortunately, they were all young, with decent personalities and temperaments. They were even a little socially anxious, more or less.

When he called her, he was surprised to see a trace of exhaustion on his sister’s face. "Faye, what’s wrong?"

Faye Yardley yawned. "Probably just tired from not sleeping for ten-odd days. What’s up, Bro?"

"Nothing major. The people on my end are guessing that after the calm period, we’ll enter another deep freeze, a world of ice and snow. If you have any extra cotton, send some our way. Also, I’ve prepared some charcoal for you. Remember not to let the fireplace go out."

Faye Yardley accepted the Gift and smiled. "Don’t worry, mine hasn’t stopped burning since the beginning. You guys think more aggressive sea creatures will appear after the safe period ends?"

"It’s not just us. The authorities have the same theory. Don’t take it lightly. Also, I got another Island Occupation Order. It came from one of the novelists you introduced."

"So, are you going to give it a try?"

"We’ll see. This Token is different from the one we got before, so I think the requirements and conditions might be different too. To be honest, I’m not that interested in being an Island Master. I’ll probably trade this Token with the authorities for other resources. Like that super-useful Guild Upgrade Coupon you gave me last time."

Faye Yardley laughed drily. "They need Guild Upgrade Coupons more than you do."

"That’s where you’re wrong. How many people can a guild hold? An island can hold far more. If they have a choice, I doubt they’d be unwilling to trade. Besides, there are many guilds, but Guild Upgrade Coupons are definitely rare. They’d have to argue over who gets to use it. It’s better if they just trade it to me."

"That’s just your own speculation."

Ethan Yardley was unconcerned. He didn’t believe for a second that everyone over there was completely united. Even if their ultimate goal was the same, their paths to get there wouldn’t necessarily be.

"Oh, right. We actually found a Silver Treasure Chest these past few days. Can you open it for me?"

"Your luck is getting better."

"It really is. It seems like the guild has its own fortune. After we upgraded to Level 3, all the guild members’ luck has improved to some extent. And it’s all thanks to you, Sis."

Faye Yardley couldn’t help but yawn again. "Alright, I get it. Send the Silver Treasure Chest over. I’m going to get some sleep first."

Although her body could still hold on, after going so long without sleep, she seemed to have reached the limit of her endurance. Her Spirit felt a little drained.

After hanging up on her brother, she forced herself to finish the last Chapter of her novel, then immediately collapsed into bed and fell asleep.

"Willow, where’s Faye? Why isn’t she downstairs yet? Is she not going to the training room today?"

Willow Yardley looked at Lucy White and shrugged. "What Faye decides to do is her business. If you don’t have anything else to do, you can come fish for chests with me."

Hearing this, Lucy White instantly jumped back like a startled kitten. "I’m busy!" she said hurriedly. "I’m going to check the sea to see if there are any big creatures that might threaten our raft."

With that, she ran off.

Willow Yardley looked up at the sky. It was 2:00 PM. The weather didn’t look as good as it had the past few days; there were a lot of clouds floating in the sky.

Faye Yardley thought she would just take a short nap, but she ended up sleeping until four in the morning the next day.

She woke up feeling refreshed and clear-headed. ’Humans really do need sleep, after all.’

Today was the 22nd, and the atmosphere on the public channel had changed.

Faye Yardley glanced at it before heading downstairs.

"Faye, you’re up. What would you like for breakfast?"

"I’ll have a fried egg, some fried dough sticks, and soy milk."

"Yesterday, we fished up four Wooden Treasure Chests and one Iron Treasure Box. They’re all in the warehouse."

"Okay. Thanks for your hard work."

After eating, she naturally went to open all the chests, starting with her brother’s Silver Treasure Chest.

After reciting a series of Spells, Faye Yardley rubbed her hands together and, for once, opened it full of anticipation.

Talent triggered... loot tripled.

’Wow, System, I love you~’

’It really feels like I’m getting whatever I wish for. My brother needed a Guild Upgrade Coupon, and here it is.’

She kept all of the High Level Redwood for herself and sent the three Upgrade Coupons and one of each of the other items to her brother.

He called back almost immediately.

"Faye, you’re amazing! You’re seriously my biggest lucky star. You’re even better than a lucky cat!"

Faye Yardley was speechless.

’Do you even hear the nonsense you’re spouting?!’

"Alright, just use the things you got. If it’s not enough, go trade with Mr. Pierce and the others."

"Hehe, he still owes me from last time."

Seeing her brother’s gloating expression, Faye Yardley felt her hands inexplicably start to itch.

’It’s one thing to be happy, but why do you have to make such a punchable face?!’

If he weren’t her own brother, Faye Yardley wouldn’t have wanted to look at him for a second longer.

Faye Yardley watched the golden fireworks appear before her, a smile spreading across her face. ’Another Silver Treasure Chest.’

’Today really is a good day!’

Sure enough, it wasn’t long before she received the Silver Treasure Chest from her brother.
