Reincarnated With The Van Helsing System

Chapter 626 - 626: Challenges Daimon & Nethereal sisters, Jazmine’s version (part 15)

“Crack!”, the sound of shattering that the rook guy expected to hear, did reach his ears, but just as he purposed to launch a second martial art, he realized he was mistaken about something.

The shattering sound wasn’t produced due to the defensive magic treasure that the light brown-haired girl was wearing, in other words that dress with light metal armor protecting her vitals, being ripped apart by his armor breaking martial art.

But was instead caused by said martial art being destroyed!

Now imagine the expression his expression when the stream of battle aura he shot, turned into wisps after being forcefully stopped, to reveal a perfectly fine Loren whose Morningstar was cladded in yellow mana.

“Impossible!”, exclaimed the rook guy to then inwardly add.

‘Even if she destroyed the rocks contained within my “Meteor Strike” with that mace, her light mana doesn’t have the strength to dispel my battle aura’.

As if she could read the mind of the enemy, Loren casually said.

“That was a rather weak battle aura, I didn’t even need to use a spell to dispel it”, which of course made the rook guy grit his teeth.

Normally, Loren wouldn’t resort to provoke an enemy, she is a rather calm and composed person, however even if the enemy’s intention wasn’t to see her, that attack was aimed to destroy her clothes, so of course she felt angry and as Calvin has learned the hard way, the gentle and calm light brown-haired girl can be rather… “scary” when provoked.

“You simply endured it by constantly healing yourself, but you’ll reach your limit sooner or later and then I’ll tear you apart with my bare hands!”, roared the rook guy as he charged at Loren.

And contrary to what he expected, she didn’t flash around him, with that light movement spell of hers, taking advantage of the fact that this armor reduced his already not that good speed though incrementing his defense in exchange.

“Don’t worry, I won’t dodge from this point onwards”, said Loren, which made the rook guy see red.

“Shut up!”, with a loud battle cry, his right fist exploded in battle aura to then punch frontwards, aiming at Loren’s stomach.

“Humph!”, seeing that even with her provocations, the enemy was still focused in humiliating her rather than fighting her seriously, the light brown-haired girl snorted as she cladded her right fist with light mana to then meet the incoming punch with hers.

“Clang!”, as usual the earth battle aura didn’t struggle to destroy the light mana covering Loren’s hand, however when the fists collided, the result was sparks flying as the gauntlet cladded fist scratched Loren’s skin.

The rook guy’s eyes contracted like needles, his spiked gauntlets did leave a wound on Loren’s fist, but it was really shallow, the ruptured skin showed some redness due to blood, but not even a single drop seeped out.

Not to mention that the “Restoration” spell she casted earlier, was still active, so the wound disappeared in a fraction of a second, just in time for Loren to follow up by swinging her Morningstar at the enemy’s chin.

“Booom!”, naturally the rook guy wasn’t going to let the enemy hit him on the face, so he smacked the Morningstar away with his gauntlet cladded left hand, or at least that was the idea, but to his surprise he was unable overwhelm the light brown haired girl’s Morningstar unlike before, and instead he simply broke its momentum but his fist was also repelled.

And Loren wasn’t forced to retreat, which in simple words meant that while her attack was still stopped, the gap in the impact that their attacks produced had drastically reduced compared to earlier, though the enemy didn’t suffer at all because his defense had increased.

‘How the hell is she doing it, if she was able to produce this level of impact with simple punches, she could have landed a heavy blow earlier!’, thought the rook guy.

The idea of his armor crumbling out of nowhere like before, to then receive an attack with the impact that Loren’s punches were producing as of current, made him get fiercer.

“Booom!”, with battle aura cladding his body, both the rook guy and Loren turned into a dark brown and a yellow stream that flashed through the battlefield, causing continuous thunder-like shockwaves and energy explosions, but while the enemy was losing with every second that passed, Loren instead seemed to be having fun.

High into the sky, Erika’s face who had started to show a tinge of satisfaction after seeing the rook guy trashing the enemy around, died on the spot, she turned to see masked silver haired youth to make sure that he wasn’t doing anything, only to be met with a disdainful gaze from the princess of the Light Palace.

It was as if Jasmine was saying “The only cheaters here are you”, which wasn’t a lie, Daimon only stepped in when the enemies tried to pull a fast one on his teammates, he didn’t even do something about the field advantage the netherals had, since his teammates could deal with just that much thanks to their recent improvements.

In other words, he was there to balance things out, when it was needed, though Daimon wouldn’t have minded to play a few tricks on the nethereals if he saw it fit.

Being looked at like that, made the enemy queen misunderstand and think that the blond-haired young girl who was her counterpart, had predicted her plan to secure a win at the end, after all one wouldn’t normally care about the last match if they had won all the fights until that point.

Which is we she really believed she would secure an overwhelming victory for her side, though the opponent was detected to have light affinity, which was troublesome for nethereals in general, the rook guy didn’t lean towards the extreme negative side of the energy spectrum, because his focus was defense and his affinity was earth.

So, she even took into account that at the moment of assigning him to be her last fighter, and it seemed to be paying off at the beginning, things were going her way for a change but then a light mage and a healer to top it off, suddenly started to entangle in a physical brawl with an earth affinity knight, and said knight was not gaining any noticeable advantage despite the previous, it was nonsensical from her point of view.

The worst part is that “mood” she perceived from the palace of the Balax Lord, that hat started to improve earlier, plummeted once again and that meant she was disappointing her Lord, so she wouldn’t have the merits to ask for his brother to be revived as soon as possible.

‘What the hell are you doing, don’t you want to revive that assassin!’, yelled Erika at the rook guy who was in the middle of exchanging punches with Loren throughout the battlefield.

Of course, being criticized while fulfilling the petition made by Erika, made the rook guy tremble due to anger, but since he needed her who had the position to directly ask for a reward by their Lord, he forced himself to calm down as he said.

‘I don’t know where is she borrowing the strength to directly clash with me, so it would be better if I’m allowed to go for the kill’.

The enemy queen gritted his teeth, refusing to believe that her subordinates couldn’t even carry one task properly, but ultimately even if it wasn’t the perfect victory she wanted, a win was a win.

‘Fine, don’t you dare let that light affinity bitch let alone win but leaving with her life, otherwise forget about that assassin ever seeing the light again!’.

“Booom!”, motivated by the fact that he could finally aim for the kill and angered by Erika’s words respectively, the rook guy exploded in dark brown nether battle aura.

“Battleground Rock Gauntlets!”, with a loud shout, all the battle aura the rook guy had released was used to create a pair of ethereal dark brown gauntlets above his magic treasure ones.

It was similar to the boosting martial art used by Ethan, which was normal, since the rook guy whose name is David by the way, wasn’t weaker than him, his rank was lower because he focused in defense, but just like Ethan, the only one that was stronger than him is the captain of the special corps, well Erika is stronger too, but that’s beside the point.

What’s important is that with a boosting martial art, even he who focused on defense would obtain strength above what other knights, besides attack type ones, had.

“I dare you to take this head on!”, he roared as he punched frontwards, his reach had also increased due to the ethereal battle aura gauntlets that covered everything from his hands to his elbow, so the punch reached the light brown-haired girl faster than before.

But with a defying expression on her pretty face, Loren used her little right fist to meet the incoming punch.

“Crack!”, for a second David was actually worried that the result would be similar to earlier, in other words him not being able to properly wound the enemy, but this time things worked as he thought they should, since the battle aura gauntlet cladded punch directly overwhelmed the enemy’s one.

As a result, not only was Loren sent flying a dozen of meters backwards, but her originally flawless and smooth skin was ruptured due to the impact, and blood was splattered all over her hand.

“How dare you do that to my girlfriend, come and try using that punch against me, I’ll fucking kill you!!!”, from the resting area, Calvin who saw red due to the previous scene, screamed in a voice so loud that it actually reached Loren’s battlefield, making the light brown haired slightly blush due to it.

Calvin often calls her “My Loren”, but this is the first time he has openly declared her as his girlfriend, not like they aren’t a couple at this point but it was still a bit embarrassing to hear that word come out of Calvin’s mouth.

David however didn’t find it amusing, some loud bastard was cursing him for fighting his girlfriend, when it was their team the one that caused the death of the one he loved.

“Damn it, Meteor Strike!”, ignoring the energy consumption, the rook guy punched frontwards and a huge stream of battle aura with large sized rocks in it was shot from his fist.

“Booom!”, a loud shockwave echoed through the sky as everything in the way of David’s attack was engulfed by the explosion, but unlike what one would think he showed no sign of happiness, since he could listen to the softer but still noticeable smaller exploding sounds coming from inside the stream of battle aura.

Once the martial art ended, the sight of Loren who had wounds on her hands and legs was revealed, she actually withstood the energy impact while destroying the rocks inside of it with her punches and kicks.

Seeing the expression of disbelief on the face of her enemy, the light brown-haired girl casually said.

“I told you right, I won’t be dodging anymore”, with those words, the flash heal and restoration spells which were active on her, completely healed her wounds.

“Flash Step”, with a couple of words, Loren turned into a yellow blur that then appeared in front of the rook guy, her pretty left fist advanced towards the nethereal’s chest.

“Clang!”, naturally David answered with a punch of his own, which after destroying the mana cladding Loren’s fist, reached her fist, once again the spikes of the battle aura gauntlet ripped Loren’s skin to then sent her flying backwards.

However, midway through it, Loren stopped her retreat forcefully, to then charge right back at the enemy, with the same fist that had completely healed at this point.

“Freaking annoying, don’t you get it, your fists are nothing in front of a battleground martial art!”, roared David as he kicked Loren, just for the light brown-haired girl to block with her leg.

“Booom!”, the clash of their kicks caused a loud explosion, but very much to the displease of the rook guy, Loren didn’t retreat this time.

“And you are lucky that is the case”, said the light brown-haired girl, making allusion to the fact that his kicks didn’t seem to have increased their strength unlike his punches, which was true, David isn’t an attack type knight after all.

The answer Loren got from the enemy was a punch aiming at her face, well to be more accurate the battle aura gauntlets were so big that everything all the way to her neck would be blasted away if the attack were to be a success.

Luckily, the light brown-haired girl blocked the punch with her forearm, receiving a bloody wound in the process, which healed in less than a second, just in time for Loren to throw her own punch.

“Crack!”, David who proposed himself to block the incoming punch with one of his own, nearly had his eyes pop out of their sockets as he saw a large crack appear on his battle aura gauntlet, a second before Loren’s fist landed on it.

“Booom!”, having lost its integrity to then be heavily smacked by Loren, the battle aura gauntlet exploded, releasing the energy contained in it, resulting in a loud explosion.

“Aghhh!”, for the first time since the fight started, a pained sound was forced out of the rook guy and embarrassingly enough it was caused by his own martial art which had exploded on his hand.

“How the hell are you doing all this!”, roared David as he saw Loren not giving him a second to rest, as she emerged out of the smoke caused by the explosion of his battle aura gauntlet, with her light mana cladded fist aiming at his face.

This is the second time that one of his martial arts crumbled out of nowhere, it would be different if the enemy was using some kind of spell to attack him, but so far, the only thing she’s done is use light mana armor, a movement spell and a bunch of healing spells continuously so he didn’t understand how was she destroying his martial arts, or increasing her strength.

‘She doesn’t even seem to know any attack type spell, like most healers so how!!!’, he screamed in his heart as he condensed the battle aura gauntlet, he lost a second ago, once again, to then shout.

“Battleground Brown Fist!”, this was the complementing martial art to the boosting one he was using.

And the result was a giant rock fist covered in battle aura that directly hit Loren at full speed since it appeared out of nowhere.

‘Go and die you annoying cockroach bitch!’, inwardly swore the rook guy.

And while David was cursing Loren, Daimon’s eyes were glowing behind his mask, as he was reminded of how the light brown-haired girl dealt with her opponent back at the little tournament they had at the Academy.

‘She saturated specific parts of her opponent’s body with vitality so that they wouldn’t benefit them, until they couldn’t hold on anymore, ultimately making them rupture due to the pressure that accumulated there, it was a really creative way to use the light element with healing properties’.

‘But that shouldn’t work on a martial art, unless… well that would explain how is she clashing with that guy head on as well, not bad’, thought Daimon.

Everything in excess is bad, even water and oxygen which living beings need to live are fatal if the quantity surpasses what the body can take, Loren whose talent in healing surpasses that of anyone in probably the whole White Fang galaxy, used that to create an attack without the need of an offensive type spell, it was indeed an praise worthy achievement.

Which is why, Daimon asked Aura to give her a real offensive type spell, from the ones she had collected through her years of adventure, which would make it impossible for others to track down, she could simply say she obtained at the magic ruin and there was nothing others could do about it, in the open at least.

However, Loren was still worried about her family being affected by the aftermath of she revealing to have learned an attack type spell in public, so while she was truly grateful and immediately learned it, she had her reservations on whether she should use it or not.

Her role in the team was to be the healer and she could defend herself with her self-created technique, that didn’t require her to use anything but healing type light element, so she didn’t focus in developing the “Burning Point” spell too much.

It wasn’t a bad decision, she was careful and decided to use it as a trump card, until they were captured by the women from the Black Night race that is, there she saw Calvin losing to her on purpose and getting his fingers cut due to it, time and time again and she decided to not let such a thing happen again.

And the result of that were the incorporation of two things to her fighting style, first and formal, she used her self-created application in reverse, in other words she learned how to saturate her own body with vitality.

“Booom!”, the giant rock fist clashed against a small hill, smashing it to pieces, causing a tremor due to the impact, but as David charged in that direction to verify if the enemy was dead or finish her off, depending on the situation, his expression soured as he saw a bright yellow cladded figure come out of the debris and the cloud of dust raised by it.

“Flash Heal”, with that the wounds that just opened on her body, stopped bleeding and new tissue filled the gaps.

“Restoration”, with the second spell, the scars that were left, completely disappeared, returning her skin to a perfect and flawless smooth state.

“Fountain of Life”, with the third spell, the damage done to her body due to the saturation of vitality that increased her “toughness” and strength, was completely healed, and now the only sign of she being in the middle of a harsh close combat brawl, is the fact that her mana reserves had diminished.

“Immortal Armor”, mumbled Loren, that was the name of this set of spells, to produce a completely different effect to that which they were created for.

And that wasn’t all, Loren’s right fist exploded in yellow mana as she met the left fist of the opponent head on, to then say.

“Rupture Burning Mark”, then under the disbelief of the rook guy… both of his battle aura gauntlets, crumbled apart, however this time they didn’t explode since they weren’t de-stabilized but completely destroyed, because she didn’t use silent casting, unlike before.

“Ack!”, what came next was naturally Loren taking advantage of the fraction of a second in which David was open, to throw a jab at him, sending him flying backwards.

“Booom!”, the heavy body of the rook guy heavily landed on a rock, destroying it to pieces on the process, David immediately got up only to feel a warm sensation on his mouth.

He used his right hand to touch his lips only to see blood coming out of them, the punch of the light brown-haired girl got strong enough to directly harm him now!

And it was then when David understood what was going on.

‘Her body gets stronger with each healing spell she uses, damn it!’.
