Reincarnated Hero System

Chapter 1121 - 1121: The Planetary Incarnation

“This bastard… he’s not just absorbing cosmic energy from the planet. He IS the planet.”

His words matched exactly with what Evan had discerned via his Full Appraisal.

… … … …

The text appeared to glitch and distort, as though the appraisal itself could not withstand the magnitude of what it had revealed.

A heavy silence followed as the four of them processed the impossible.

Eventually, Evan managed to force out a word.

“…this…”

He paused, still struggling with the horrifying reality, before shouting a moment later.

“DOESN’T MAKE ANY FUCKING SENSE!!

He came to Aramis, didn’t he?! Planetary Consciousnesses Incarnations shouldn’t be able to leave their gravitational fields. HOW THE HELL DID HE GET TO US ON ARAMIS?!”

The same question burned within the minds of the other three, but there wasn’t anyone to give them the answers they sought. After all, Bewússtsein wasn’t about to start explaining himself to them.

Meanwhile, the vortex of cosmic energy surrounding him continued to rise, its density and concentration increasing with every passing moment.

Arthur’s frown deepened as he shifted his focus from Bewússtsein back to the bewildering results of Evan’s appraisal and the revelation of the Eternals’ involvement.

Unlike Evan, he was more aware of the scale of power held by the beings known as ‘Eternals’, and he understood their roles in governing the Concepts across all existence.

He was also aware that, at the present time, the EOTD Evan knew from the future did not exist.

Bewússtsein’s status identified him as a ‘Candidate’ for that vacant position, but as far as Arthur knew, ‘Dual Candidacy’ wasn’t supposed to be possible for several million years.

Evan, on the other hand, was far more confused, as he still didn’t know that the EOTD did not exist in the 50th General Calendar, so the sight of a ‘Candidate’ for that role left him utterly baffled.

But he quickly dismissed it, realizing he had no way of comprehending why this was the case, and knowing that figuring it out would do nothing to help him in his current situation.

Drawing ambient magic power into his grimoire, he turned to Arthur and called out to him, but the silver-haired teen only continued to silently stare at Bewússtsein with a troubled expression.

“Arthur!”

“…”

“Arthur!!”

“?! Huh?”

Arthur finally snapped out of his sea of thoughts and turned to Evan, who immediately chided him.

“Why are you zoning out?! That guy’s healing in there! We’ve gotta stop him!

Can you cut the Vortex with that ‘Chaos Slash’? Or maybe target his past—anything that’ll give me an opening?”

Arthur turned his attention back to the swirling vortex of Cosmic Energy after Evan’s words, his grip tightening on Lostvayne.

‘If I burn through the power I’ve got left, I can deliver consecutive attacks fast enough to cut it open.

But that would end Lostvayne’s ‘Release’… and we don’t know if this guy has more bodies beyond this one.

And even if it works—can we even kill him like this? This guy is the planet itself. Do we need to destroy the planet to kill him?’

“…I don’t know, Evan. I also don’t know if taking out this body would kill him. He’s the planet’s incarnation, you know? He could have more bodies elsewhere.

Worst case scenario, only destroying the planet would kill him…”

Evan clicked his tongue in frustration, his scowl deepening.

“Destroying the planet? Fantastic! No pressure or anything. Not like we even have a way to do that.”

The Rogue Hero rolled his eyes, his voice carrying dry sarcasm.

“We don’t have time to overthink this, Arthur. We barely managed to injure him this much. If he heals, we’re screwed. Don’t you get that?!

If we don’t act now, we’re dead the second he decides to step out of that thing. And if he comes out fully healed, none of us are walking away from this!”

Evan was right. They had very few options in this situation. No clear way forward. And Bewússtsein wasn’t about to stand idle and give them time to think.

Then, Beatrix’s voice suddenly rang in their ears.

“…what about sealing him?”

Arthur blinked, momentarily caught off guard by the suggestion. His gaze shifted to her, confusion crossing his face, before his eyes widened as the realization struck him like a bolt of lightning.

‘Come to think of it, he’s only ever used one body at a time. He’s never attacked us with two bodies simultaneously.

Maybe… maybe he can only load his consciousness into one at a time. If that’s true, then his consciousness is inside that body right now. If we seal it—trap him inside that damaged body—he might not be able to escape.

But can we even pull off a seal strong enough that his Destruction Sigil wouldn’t break it? My Eternal Prison won’t work because of his Time Sigil…

No, we’ll have to try. Classic strategy—one of us draws his attention while the other executes the main plan.’

Arthur’s thoughts lasted only a moment with his accelerated thought speed. He immediately turned to Evan and said,

“Prepare the strongest sealing spell you’ve got in that grimoire of yours. I’m going to cut that bastard open!”

As he spoke, the cosmic energy around Lostvayne rose violently. Time laws intertwined with Destruction, Divinity, and Anti-Divinity, and everything was wrapped in a silver light.

Inside the vortex, Bewússtsein frowned. His leg had just finished regenerating, but his arms and torso were still incomplete.

He couldn’t let them interrupt his recovery now.

The Destruction Sigil on the back of his palm lit up, and a fissure ripped through the ground from the vortex, splitting the earth apart as it shot toward Arthur.

The crack spewed destruction-laced magma, but the four teenagers immediately leapt aside, easily avoiding the danger.

Arthur kicked off the ground without hesitation, rushing forward in a blur. As he closed the distance, chunks of earth broke apart and tore free, coated with destruction energy before hurtling toward him like missiles.

Summoning Celestia in his left hand, Arthur slashed through the projectiles, cutting down the first two that reached him.

But as he raised Celestia to slice the third, a massive torrent of spatial energy ripped through the space ahead, clearing away every fragment in his path.

Behind him, Beatrix dropped to her knees, panting heavily. Her divinity had been drained heavily from using such a high-output ability, but her efforts had cleared Arthur’s way.

Arthur lightened his body with gravity laws and charged forward with renewed speed, his focus fixed on Bewússtsein. Evan, in his Humanoid Dragon form, moved above him, wings beating as he struggled to match Arthur’s pace.

Bewússtsein launched more attacks, trying to halt their advance, but Arthur and Evan avoided everything he threw at them.

‘He doesn’t want us getting close…’

Arthur’s thoughts raced as he pressed on, infusing Celestia with cosmic energy and cutting through the energy shields Bewússtsein raised around the vortex.

At last, Arthur closed the distance. Celestia disappeared, and he gripped Lostvayne’s hilt with both hands, raising it high.

Above him, Evan’s spell circle began to form, drawing in the ambient magic power as runes filled its surface.

But just as Arthur prepared to swing his sword and Evan’s spell was about to lock Bewússtsein in place, the entire world suddenly trembled.

The ground shook violently, jagged fissures tearing it open beneath them. The sky darkened overhead, and within the vortex of Cosmic energy, Bewússtsein clutched his chest as if struck by pain.

The vortex spiralled outward, unleashing an explosive wave of power that smashed into Arthur and Evan, hurling them back. They crashed through the air before slamming into the ground, but managed to land on their feet, their legs skidding through the dirt.

Arthur’s heart pounded as he fought to keep the concentrated energies within Lostvayne steady.

“What the hell’s happening now?!”

Evan’s shout reached his ears, pulling Arthur’s attention upward just as the sky literally began to split apart.

The sky cracked and shattered like glass, the atmosphere peeling away to reveal the vast, star-filled vacuum of space beyond the jagged rift.

From that tear, a streak of azure light descended, crashing into the ground behind the group of teenagers.

A massive dust cloud rose toward the fractured sky, but it dispersed almost instantly, revealing a familiar silver-haired figure in a suit.

He looked slightly worn, beads of sweat glistening on his forehead as clear proof of the effort it had taken to arrive.

Stretching his arms outward, the space around him warped at two points, bending unnaturally.

From those distortions, two identical bodies—bearing the same appearance and energy signature as the one within the cosmic vortex before them—were pulled into view by an unseen force.

Gravity dragged them straight into the man’s waiting hands, where he clutched them by their necks with ease.

Arthur’s eyes widened in shock.

His earlier belief—that Bewússtsein could only use one body at a time—had been completely wrong.

While their attention had been fixed on the vortex, two more bodies had been deployed in silence, ready to ambush them from behind.

If not for Jamie’s timely arrival, Bewússtsein’s fourth and fifth bodies might have succeeded in delivering fatal or crippling blows.

But those bodies hadn’t escaped Jamie’s notice. The moment he caught them, he smashed their skulls together without hesitation.

The collision sent out a shockwave that cratered the ground beneath him, and the air was filled with a sickening spray of blood, bone fragments, and brain matter.

Even with the gruesome display, what drew Arthur and Evan’s focus wasn’t the brutality itself—it was the fact that Jamie had somehow managed to do it without a single drop of blood touching his suit.

Unfazed by the gore he created, Jamie pulled the two bodies apart as azure flames erupted from his palm, instantly consuming them until they crumbled into ashes that scattered into the air.

Inside the vortex of cosmic energy, Bewússtsein’s third body convulsed in pain, clutching his chest as he staggered in mid-air.

Spotting him, Jamie stepped forward, raising his hand and forming a finger gun aimed at Bewússtsein.

“Triad Gun: Spatial Destruction Shot.”

From his fingertip, a condensed bullet of power shot through the air at light speed, tearing through the vortex’s swirling energy and blasting a fist-sized hole into Bewússtsein’s chest.

Blood sprayed outward as the cosmic vortex was forcefully scattered and Bewússtsein’s body plummeted from the sky.

Ignoring the fallen Bewússtsein, Jamie turned his focus to the teenagers he’d come to save.

Just as he turned, Lostvayne released its ‘Release’ state on its own, and a crushing wave of exhaustion slammed into Arthur.

He staggered, his knees nearly giving out, but before he could collapse, a hand caught him from behind.

‘…huh? Alvey?’

Arthur blinked in surprise, lifting his gaze to see Alvey standing there. Not far away, McEnda carried the weakened Artemisia and Beatrix.

Jamie clicked his tongue quietly at the sight of the two girls’ condition, then raised his hands and activated an Authority.

|Authority of Life: Instant Restoration.|

Life law energy burst from his body, sweeping over the group and restoring them to full condition in an instant.

Every injury—internal, external, physical, or spiritual—vanished immediately.

Their depleted energy reserves were completely replenished, and even their burnt-out energy circuits were restored to pristine condition.

“…wow. It’s so ridiculous I can’t even laugh at it,” Evan muttered, flexing his fingers as his body returned to perfect condition.

Beside him, Arthur pushed himself to his feet, turning to Jamie.

“Good thing you showed up. Really didn’t want to have my soul devoured…”

Jamie opened his mouth to respond, most likely to mention the signal Arthur had left behind that let him track them down.

But before he could speak, Arthur’s voice and expression suddenly changed.

“Jamie. You know about the Eternal Candidate Selection, right? Has Phase Two started? If it hasn’t, then how can there be a Dual Candidate?”

“Dual Candidate?! Wasn’t it a Candidate of Tim-?!”

Jamie froze mid-sentence, his eyes widening as he caught the lingering traces of destruction energy hanging in the air around them.

‘Aspect of Destruction?!’

His expression darkened, and his eyes lit with a dull glow. Using his True Voice, Jamie bellowed out a name, the overwhelming energy carried within it forcing everyone to wince in pain.

|Ranus! What the hell is the meaning of this?!|

Jamie didn’t bother moderating his voice as he normally would, directly calling out to the Eternal of Space and Reality (EOSR).

But the response he expected never came.

That silence only fuelled Jamie’s annoyance further.

‘Ranus’ was an existence with an Unspeakable Name, and to speak it aloud while he was “in the area” should’ve immediately alerted him to who called and where.

He also knew that an avatar of the Eternal was present in the universe, the same one who had detected Evan when he first arrived in the past, so there was no way Ranus hadn’t heard Jamie’s call.

But despite that, Ranus didn’t respond.
