Reincarnated as an Energy with a System

Chapter 1788: A Lot to Learn

Chapter 1788: A Lot to Learn

Shara jumped forward, phasing through Oleander’s body, coming out the other side. As she did, her palm reached high in Oleander’s body, solidifying for a moment as she grabbed his hair.

The moment she grabbed onto him, her powers returned, working on Oleander too. She pulled on his hair and pulled Oleander right out of his armor, wearing absolutely nothing and holding absolutely nothing.

His naked body flopped onto the ground, his eyes wide in fear. He didn’t realize what had happened just then. Out of pure instinct, he reached out for Shara, attempting to freeze her body completely.

But his hands simply passed through her legs.

His eyes widened in fear and he attempted to teleport away. But he couldn’t. He felt his neck and only grabbed his skin. His necklace was gone. His power to teleport was gone.

Shara pointed down toward his head and gave away no emotion on her face. The lizard shined brightly and the light passed through Shara’s body, coming down through the front of the spear as a bolt of lightning.

A bolt of lightning that struck him directly on his face.

The bright light forced Shara to close her eyes temporarily. Even when she opened them, everything she looked at was white. It took a moment for her vision to readjust.

When she did, Oleander lay dead on the ground with a face that had been completely burnt off. Not even his mother would recognize him anymore.

Shara took a deep breath as she had killed the first of her three opponents within this death battle. She turned around toward the prince and saw as he slowly stood up as well, looking toward her with a curious expression.

She looked below him, seeing red marks around Jema’s neck. She had been strangled to death.

Shara didn’t understand how the prince had been able to tell which Jema was the real one, but he seemed to have a way, and that had helped him.

Now, another one of the three enemies had died.

All those left were the prince and her.

The prince gave a subtle smile that was barely visible through the shadow of his helm. His eyes were more visible and the curiosity they carried equally so.

“I did not think you would have been able to deal with Oleander,” he said slowly. “I merely wanted you to delay him as best as you—”

Shara gave him no opportunity to talk as she immediately attacked. The lizard on her body glowed suddenly, its power passing through her again as it reached the tip of her spear.

The prince’s eyes widened when he saw the speed at which everything happened. The fact that she looked to be moving at a normal pace through his sped-up perception worried him at just how fast her speed really was.

He reacted immediately, having no time to continue talking. He swung his sword, creating a large spray of water in front of her in a diagonal line.

The bolt of lightning struck the water, making no more advancement after that. The water was a wall for the bolt to strike and boil away. Hot steam left behind in between the two where the water and lightning had met.

The prince swung again, sending more water toward her.

Shara realized her ranged attacks wouldn’t work. She needed to get close to the prince.

The concealment talisman around her neck went back into work as she disappeared from regular perception.

The prince stood up in a panic and rushed toward her with his sword raised high to attack her at a moment’s notice.

Shara frowned. Something wasn’t right. The prince should know where she was, so the fact that he was running toward her so carelessly meant that he wasn’t being careless, right?

She stepped back in worry of what the prince was planning to do. She still didn’t know what his power was, so caution was the best choice for her.

The prince arrived where she previously stood and swung his sword in her direction, sending out another spray splash of water, forcing Shara to move even further backward.

As she did, the prince grinned.

“You’re not an experienced Reaper, are you?” he asked slowly as he lay down next to the dead Oleander and placed his left palm on his naked chest. “Any experienced Reaper would know just how much energy they left behind in a corpse.”

He activated Spectral Harvesting, sucking in the remaining spectral energy that was within Oleander.

Shara didn’t even know dead people had spectral energy. She didn’t even know such a thing could be done.

She frowned still. Absorbing his power would’ve aided her.

The prince held his eyes in her direction at all times and continued speaking. “Also, you should know better than to leave around Spirit Artifacts,” he said as he reached into the empty armor and pulled out a small but incredible necklace.

Shara’s frown deepened. She hadn’t even known the man had worn an artifact at all. The only artifact she could see was the mace after all, and it was far too heavy for her to make use of.

The prince placed the necklace around his neck with one hand, and something crawled from his back, tying the necklace in the end.

’What the hell was that?’ Shara thought with utter shock.

“You still have a lot to learn as a Reaper,” the prince said, still continuing to mock her. “Sadly, you too will die soon, and all your special trinkets will be mine.”

Shara couldn’t hear it anymore. She understood she couldn’t use her lightning bolt since it could be easily stopped. So, she was going to fight properly. She was going to stab him with her spear as normal.

But before that, she had to confirm something, something that Ning had told her before this battle had started.

“My father and mother were killed in the mountain of Lenes. I was then hunted by soldiers of your army there as well,” Shara said. “Was that your doing?”
