Reborn into Naruto World with Tenseigan

Chapter 947: A Comprehensive Upgrade Plan

After the matter concerning the Uchiha Clan was settled, and everyone had dispersed, Elder Hiruzen suddenly brought up the topic of Orochimaru returning to the village.

“Return of Orochimaru-sama?!” muttered Kuroto in surprise.

Elder Hiruzen nodded, “Yes, we accepted Uchiha Shinichi back in Konoha, so there shouldn’t be any problem with accepting Orochimaru back into the village, either… Jiraiya and Tsunade feel the same, and upon considering their request, I felt that having him return may not be a bad idea for the village.”

He did not expect Elder Hiruzen to suddenly make such an offer and couldn’t help but think, ‘A lot of unpredictable things have been happening lately, but I suppose this isn’t such a bad thing.’ So, after pondering for a moment, he nodded, “If an opportunity presents itself, I will convey everyone’s intentions to him… but to be honest, I doubt he would be willing to return.”

Elder Hiruzen sighed, “Just give it a try. If he accepts our proposal and decides to return, well and good; otherwise, we can just form an alliance.”

“I understand,” responded Kuroto with a nod.

As he had mentioned a moment ago, Kuroto didn’t think Orochimaru would be willing to return. The reason is simple: he has long transcended the concept of something like a Shinobi Village because there is hardly anything in this village that interests or attaches him to Konoha at this point.

What interests him now is only his pursuit of all the knowledge in existence and beyond, as well as eternal life for that pursuit. Returning to Konoha would only restrain him, as he would be watched, resulting in numerous restrictions on things he wouldn’t be able to do. There is no way Orochimaru would be willing to accept such limitations; hence, there is simply no chance of him returning to the village.

After this short conversation with Elder Hiruzen, Kuroto took his leave as he had important matters to tend to—some Hokage affairs—while Elder Hiruzen continued his job of what he does.

Two days later, Kuroto received the payment of three hundred fifty million Ryō from the village, which he was asked to pay to Amatsukami. Kuroto humbly accepted the payment, and without wasting any time, he went on to purchase various important raw materials he needed to buy to repair the air fortress Ancor Vantian.

Back when Kuroto was training his Earth Chakra Nature Clone, he accidentally created a giant hole in the flying fortress. So far, the hole hadn’t been properly repaired; Kuroto had only covered that place with Iron Sand and created a few protective enchantments over it to prevent the invasion of moisture from clouds into the interior of the flying fortress. However, this was only a temporary solution, as over time, it would get rusted.

The importance of Ancor Vantian as his base of operation couldn’t be emphasized enough.

Not only are all the clones he has created and developed in the previous decade, including Water Chakra Nature Clone, Fire Chakra Nature, Wind Chakra Nature Clone, and Earth Chakra Nature Clone, stored here but also the research on the Chimera Buds, Hashirama Cells, as well as various other important research Ninjutsu is kept in this flying fortress. And this is still not counting the fact that Karin and Gaara also live at the flying fortress.

The pair of Rinnegan that Karin bears within her eye sockets is Kuroto’s key to reattempting the Project Godhood should things fall out of place, and he fails in his first attempt. The One-Tails that is sealed inside Gaara’s body is another crucial point that would delay the Akatsuki Organization from collecting all the tailed beasts and reviving the Ten-Tails for as long as possible.

And let’s not forget the existence of Mōryō, the demon sealed inside the power source of Ancor Vantian, as well as the Giant Tenseigan of the Hyuga Clan, which is the newest addition to the flying fortress.

For all these reasons, the flying fortress Ancor Vantian is extremely important. If anything happens to this place, everything Kuroto has worked for in the past decade will be for naught.

The only reason Kuroto wasn’t able to repair and renovate Ancor Vantian so far was that he lacked funds. All the money he had received from the village upon becoming a Hokage Candidate and further a Hokage was used up for creating the Biological Armor using Hashirama Cells for Karin. After that, Kuroto also created the Lightning Chakra Clone and was back to his frugal life.

But now that he has received three hundred fifty million Ryō from the village and doesn’t have any immediate expenditure, naturally, the repair of Ancor Vantian is his focus. Since he is going to repair it, Kuroto also plans to use this opportunity to thoroughly renovate and upgrade it to make it an extremely defensive flying fortress. Well, ‘impenetrable’ is just a figure of speech; what’s necessary is to make it extremely defensive.

With that in mind, Kuroto arrived at Ancor Vantian, and after activating his Byakugan, he started to record all the places aside from the giant hole that needed thorough upgrading and repair.

The Flying Fortress originally belonged to the remnants of the Land of the Sky, and after their village was destroyed by Konoha during the Second Great Shinobi War, this place was abandoned for decades until Shinnō took it upon himself to revive it to achieve his goal of dominating the entire Shinobi World. Although Shinnō did repair the Flying Fortress into a working condition, he wasn’t that thorough with it. Even after Kuroto took over the place, he didn’t focus too much on the repairs and restoration since he didn’t have the required money for all the repairs, and there was no functional problem with it either.

Because of this, now that he has decided to repair it and carefully checked all the places that need repair, he was able to notice a lot of points with structural weakness. “I guess the repairs won’t be a problem; however, the defense has to be improved because given its current state, if someone were to find it, they will be able to easily take over the flying fortress or destroy it. Although the chances of such a thing happening are low, it’s better to take precautions.”

Naturally, Kuroto can’t be present at Ancor Vantian at all times; therefore, a strong self-defense mechanism has to be prepared. “I suppose comprehensive restoration and upgrading is in order,” muttered Kuroto after making his decision.

After making up his mind, Kuroto came to the power room of the flying fortress. Currently, the source of energy of the flying fortress is the demon Mōryō, who is restrained by a Fuinjutsu Array Kuroto designed using Reverse Tetragram Sealing Style.

Since Mōryō and Shion (the Miko of the Land of Demons) are two sides of the same coin, as long as Shion is alive, Mōryō is alive as well and will continue to supply Chakra, which is used as the fuel source for powering all the facilities on Ancor Vantian. Therefore, the source of power is not a problem for the time being.

It’s just that because Mōryō’s Chakra is corrosive in nature, it continues to corrode the Fuinjutsu Array Kuroto had designed. Over the years, Kuroto would come to the power room every now and then to repair the Fuinjutsu Array. However, he feels that it would be better to design a more advanced Fuinjutsu Array using different styles instead of the Reverse Tetragram Sealing Style.

“I suppose it would be best to involve Karin while creating the advanced Fuinjutsu Array,” muttered Kuroto as he thought of Karin. As a descendant of the Uzumaki Clan and someone Kuroto personally taught, Karin is undoubtedly a prodigy when it comes to Fuinjutsu. Because she now bears the Rinnegan, the Fuinjutsu Styles that she has mastered and can use are far more advanced than any other Uzumaki out there. Therefore, Karin’s input will be very helpful for Kuroto.

“And it would be best to create two Chakra Sources for powering the Ancor Vantian.” The first source would obviously be Mōryō, the demon who would be used most of the time, while the second energy source would be the giant Tenseigan of the Hyuga Clan who will be used only in case of emergencies.

After he created a brief layout of the energy source, Kuroto shifted his attention to the Enchantment Barrier that he wanted to use for protecting the Flying Fortress.

“A barrier for preventing corrosion and degradation because of the outside environment is only natural. Then, an invisibility barrier is needed as well to hide from the eyes of others… But this isn’t enough. Something that can easily tank Kekkei Tōta level of attacks and even resist the Tailed Beasts Bomb; a barrier of that level is required,” muttered Kuroto as he thought of a powerful enchantment barrier that he was asked to master upon becoming the Godaime Hokage. “Perhaps something like the Four-Red-Yang Formation!”
