Reborn into Naruto World with Tenseigan

Chapter 943: Kuroto’s Disappointment

“If you want me to help you, then you must tell me everything you know about the Ōtsutsuki Clan and what connections the Hyuga Clan has with them.”

Hearing Kuroto’s condition, Hiashi’s eyes widened in surprise, and the two Elders also looked at him with an astonished expression.

In response to their shock and surprise, Kuroto shrugged, “You don’t have to react like that… While you people may have tried to hide it, the village does have some information about the Ōtsutsuki Clan, and they suspect that there is some connection between the Hyuga Clan and the Ōtsutsuki Clan on the moon. As the Godaime Hokage, naturally, I know a few things.”

Receiving Kuroto’s response, Hiashi sighed a little. He turned to the two Elders, and after they reached a certain agreement, Hiashi and the two elders got up and said to Kuroto, “Come with us!”

Kuroto nodded and followed Hiashi into his study. Now that they were in a more isolated and private space, Hiashi and the two Elders started to talk about the connection between the Hyuga Clan and the Ōtsutsuki Clan on the moon.

Kuroto seriously listened to their explanation. He wanted to know everything, all the information the main family has on the Ōtsutsuki Clan; this is his main purpose for visiting the Hyuga Patriarch this time. Kuroto plans to use all the intelligence he will learn today to create a plan to get his hands on the Giant Tenseigan on the Moon.

After all, unless he knows the way to the moon, it would be impossible for him to take custody of that treasure.

It’s a pity that Kuroto was a little naïve. Hiashi and the two elders talked about a lot of basic things; however, they did not discuss anything important. It’s not that they were trying to hide this information; it’s just that they did not know it themselves, nor did they have any information about how to get to the moon or contact those Ōtsutsuki!

Heck, they don’t even seem to have much information about how the two sides are connected to each other!

For a moment, Kuroto wondered whether the three of them were trying to fool him or something; however, after thinking it over, he shook his head, realizing that was not the case. They really don’t seem to hold any substantial information.

‘Aoki did not have much information about the Ōtsutsuki Clan in his memories either, so it is safe to say that in the books and scrolls he had stolen, there wasn’t much information about these distant relatives. Since the Patriarch and the elders don’t know much either, that is to say, the information was clearly erased!’ thought Kuroto with a frown.

He wondered why there was not much information about the Ōtsutsuki Clan on the moon. Even if the two sides had a conflict with each other, that is not the reason for there to be a lack of information. After all, these sides are distant relatives, and the main family of the Hyuga Clan even carries the blood of the main family of the Ōtsutsuki Clan within them! So, why?

‘Perhaps the members of the main family of the Ōtsutsuki Clan did not want anyone from the Shinobi World to have access to the moon because of what is sealed there?’ This is indeed possible. Unlike the people in the Shinobi World, those individuals should have been aware of Kaguya’s existence; therefore, they did not want to take any risk by leaving any information about the moon or a method to get there, as that might have posed a risk to the seal on Kaguya.

It’s not impossible for the people living in the Shinobi World to want to acquire the moon for themselves as well, and in doing so, they might knowingly or unknowingly release Kaguya, putting the entire world and its inhabitants at risk.

So, for the sake of the safety of the Shinobi World and life on this planet, they chose to conceal and destroy their history instead of risking the entire world. ‘If it’s them, it’s not impossible.’

As Kuroto reached such a conclusion, Hiashi stated, “This is everything we know about the Ōtsutsuki Clan.” Kuroto nodded, and after a moment of silence, he questioned, “In that case, please tell me what the representative of the Ōtsutsuki Clan wanted from us when they contacted us not long ago.”

“Well…” after a moment of hesitation, Hiashi sighed and decided to speak, “I guess there is no other choice… they had sent a representative and wanted to retrieve something that we ha–…”

Before Hiashi could finish his words, Elder Fukiage interrupted him in a loud voice, “Hiashi, that’s enough. Boy, this is all we know about the Ōtsutsuki Clan; anything more is none of your concern!” Interrupted by Elder Fukiage, Hiashi once again hesitated, and this time he chose to remain silent. He couldn’t help it; the main family was really under tremendous pressure.

The fact that Kuroto—a member of the branch family—became Konoha’s Hokage, while neither he nor anyone else from the main family ever had the chance of being part of the Elder Council of Konoha puts the reputation of the main family at risk. Although this is a significant matter, it wouldn’t have put such tremendous pressure on Hiashi, as well as the rest of the elders, if not for the fact that Aoki had figured out a way to break free of the ‘Caged Bird.’ This has greatly affected the authority of the main family as well as the stability of the entire clan.

Not only the branch family, but even many people who are not part of the Hyuga Clan, have become aware of the dynamic of the current Hyuga Clan and frown at the sight of the members of the main family. To them, the members of the main family are nothing more than incompetent lords who are forcing and exploiting the members of the branch family!

In this extremely difficult situation, the Giant Tenseigan of the Hyuga Clan is the only hope of the main family. With its help, they hope to recover the reputation of the main family and maintain their control over the branch family. Of course, Hiashi also suspects that perhaps Aoki has found that treasure and, through it, acquired the method of breaking the ‘Caged Bird’ Juinjutsu.

However, as long as it is not confirmed, he, as well as the other two elders, couldn’t give up on it. They wanted to believe that as the core of the main family, only they would be able to find and harness the power of the Tenseigan, not someone from the branch family.

They feared that if Kuroto were to learn of its existence, he too would want to acquire its power. If it were Kuroto, he would also be able to mobilize his ANBU in search of that thing, which would increase his chances of finding that treasure. Fearing such a possibility, they decided to conceal its existence from Kuroto. The fewer people know about it, the better, and the more chances they will have of finding it and harnessing its power.

Since Hiashi chose silence, Kuroto accepted his response and did not bother to pursue the matter. Instead, he said, “If the Ōtsutsuki Clan tries to contact you again, please be sure to inform me next time.” After leaving these words, Kuroto did not wait for their response and excused himself from the Patriarch’s Mansion.

The two elders and even Hiashi don’t offer Kuroto any hope. They persistently attempt to stabilize the situation to maintain the status quo under the guise of upholding traditions. They fail to comprehend that the Shinobi World is evolving, destined to usher in a new era that will reject their ideologies, leading to their eventual demise.

In his view, these individuals are relics, incapable of influencing the future of the Hyuga Clan. The destiny of the clan will be determined by the likes of Neji, Hinata, and Hanabi – the younger generation. Consequently, he dismisses the fantasies and thoughts of these elders as irrelevant. Those unable to adapt to the changing times will inevitably fade away, as time continues its relentless march forward, indifferent to the plight of individuals.
