Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family

Chapter 822: Brownbloods’ welcome

Chapter 822: Brownbloods’ welcome

Meanwhile, Tenzing watched on with complete and utter shock as Michael and Jaku received a warm welcome from the Brownblood Werewolves.

But this time, it wasn’t Michael who they were treating with immense respect. It was the demi-human right next to him!

This didn’t make sense to him.

Just then, Michael spoke to Chief Lupan for a little bit and turned back to face Tenzing.

“Hey, Tenzing!”

Tenzing walked towards Michael, his face obvious. He was filled with questions that needed to be answered.

“What’s happening? Why is your demi-human ally being escorted by the Brownblood Werewolves?”

Michael shrugged. “I’m not entirely sure either. But he did win in their swordsman tournament, so there’s that.”

“He did?!” Tenzing shouted. “WAIT! Was he the one that defeated Mauricio Aubert?!”

He’d heard rumors about the Auberts backing out of an agreed allyship with the Werewolves. Many speculated it was because of some deal gone wrong, but few knew it was because one of their most talented youngsters was beaten in a tournament.

Tenzing couldn’t help but look at Jaku once again in a completely different light. His mind couldn’t reconcile the fact that a demi-human like him was able to defeat a monstrous genius like Mauricio Aubert.

Just like the many others who found out this truth, they couldn’t help but go through the calculations to see how it was even possible that a demi-human was able to defeat a Maugnetic, but nothing reasonable came to mind. Of course, none of them ever thought of Jaku awakening a Diva.

“Then what are you doing?! Go with the Werewolves!” Tenzing urged. He knew just how important it was that a Metropolis company was able to secure an allyship with the Brownbloods.

“I said that I’ll catch up. I wanted to ask you something first,” Michael said.

“What is it?”

Michael leaned in and whispered. “Do you have any spare GodForge pieces that you want to sell? I’m planning to buy one with Sand Dollars.”

Tenzing’s eyebrows raised, surprised by the request. But after thinking about it, it only sounded natural.

“It is about time you’ve awakened to the 5th stage,” he muttered under his breath. “Our company is only able to spare about 5 kilos for now.”

That wasn’t enough for Michael’s plans, but it was better than nothing. “Thanks. I appreciate anything you can give me.”

Tenzing nodded, giving Michael a pat on the shoulders. “It’s my honor. Now, go and secure that allyship with the Brownbloods. My company is much more willing to loan the GodForge pieces knowing that you can pay them back.”

“What?”

“What?”

The two were in a misunderstanding.

“Oh,” Michael muttered. “I’m not asking for a loan. I’m asking if I can buy the GodForge pieces.”

“…you mean…”

“Yeah. I got the money right here,” Michael said, producing a cloth bag filled with Sand Dollars from his pockets.

Tenzing stared at the bag in Michael’s hands, shocked. To produce such a large amount of Sand Dollars so easily, without even a little bit of hesitation, was shocking to him. Even he had to wince if he had to spend 10,000 Sand Dollars.

But Michael was giving 50,000 Sand Dollars so nonchalantly!

Michael even handed the pouch to Tenzing before confirming that he had the GodForge pieces in the first place.

Tenzing didn’t know if Michael was just that

trusting, or if he was loose with the money because he had so much more.

“….you’re buying the GodForge pieces… it’s… it’s not with me right now,” Tenzing uttered out.

“That’s fine,” Michael said, pushing the bag towards him. “I’ll meet up with you later to get it.”

Then, Michael waved goodbye and ran after the Werewolves, leaving Tenzing alone with the pouch of Sand Dollars in his hands.

“He’s rich… with Sand Dollars too…” Tenzing concluded.

He thought Michael would only get the money after securing an allyship with the Brownbloods.

But if he had that much to spare, then it meant that he must have had other allies within the Beastfolks as well.

This made him realize that Michael truly was the hope for Metropolis.

Michael caught up with the Werewolves, and they were soon escorted in a carriage through the mountain forest ushered by dog wolves.

“Once again, as Chief of the Brownbloods, I implore for you to help us in these trying times.”

Inside the carriage, Chief Lupan bowed towards Michael and Jaku with desperation in his eyes.

“You want our help in the Lunar Celebrations?” Michael asked.

“Yes, Keo,” Chief Lupan said. “We need his help. The talents that he has shown during our swordsman tournament is enough to give me confidence that he will perform well in the Lunar Celebrations.”

“What are the Lunar Celebrations anyway?” Michael asked, curious.

Chief Lupan looked out the windows of their carriage, through the cloudless blue skies.

“It is our annual worship of the moon. It is a way for us to give thanks to our god. Back in the olden days, we used our collective strength to prove our loyalty to the moon.

But these days, the Lunar Celebrations have turned into a pissing competition between the Tribes.”

What started as a way to worship their god, turned into a way to show others how strong or how better their tribes were compared to others.

“What sort of competition? A swordsman competition?” Michael guessed.

That’s what didn’t make sense to him. From what he knew, Werewolves were most proud of their physical strength, not their ability to wield swords. It made more sense if their Lunar Celebrations were wrestling instead.

“Each tribe has a new competition that they’ll introduce to the Lunar Celebrations,” Chief Lupan explained. “It can be a wrestling exhibition, a race, or anything that requires physical abilities.

In our case, I chose a competition between swordsmen.

And in the Lunar Celebrations, the other tribes will challenge us by entering our swordsmen competition and try to beat us on our own game. If we lose, our honor will be tarnished.”

Basically, the Lunar Celebrations was a way to showcase a Werewolf’s immense physical gifts.

They were trying to show that they were so physically powerful, that they could compete in any game or competition that they weren’t familiar with, and win using their overwhelming strength.

That’s what these Lunar Celebrations were trying to prove.

“So that’s why you’re trying to recruit a swordsman,” Michael muttered.

“Yes. Our tribe has no powerful swordsman.”

“Then why pick that?” Michael questioned.

“We had no choice. We had the last pick,” Chief Lupan said ashamedly.

As the weakest tribe in New Sparta, they had no choice but to be the last ones to introduce a new competition.

Chief Lupan wanted a wrestling competition or a speed race, but it was already chosen by the other tribes.

“But it turned out to be the best decision I have ever made. It has led me to discover you,” he said, pointing at Jaku. “A demi-human with a Diva… that is unheard of.”

“Meh,” Jaku said, trying to undermine himself so that he wouldn’t have to perform.

“Not only that, but you… you have the power of the Mythical Beasts! You have an Ancient Roar!”
