Yino met up with Yuebai late the second night after the Liu mansion chaos.

Thanks to his flying deer, the day’s escape had gone smooth as silk. He’d even let Ruoning experience what riding shotgun with Santa felt like. The last girl who’d gotten that privilege was Yunjin.

When Yino mentioned this to Ruoning, her excitement died instantly. The blush faded from her cheeks, replaced by a deflated pout.

He had to console her with more talk about poetry and distant horizons.

Looking back, Ruoning had basically eloped with him. The sheltered Liu mansion princess had just made her first real rebellious move against everything her ancestors stood for.

And honestly? She found it pretty thrilling.

Some things were exactly like her master always said- hiding and stalling would never fix anything.

Last night, when Yino had mouthed off to all those elders, Ruoning thought they were screwed. She’d been certain the family would come down on them like a hammer.

She’d been terrified.

At barely seventeen, she’d never imagined someone her age would dare talk back to elders at the Divine Transformation stage and beyond.

But Yino had smashed through those social taboos and moral chains like they were paper.

First, he’d hoisted her into the air, making her practically explode with embarrassment.

Then, like some kind of shameless pervert, he’d completely ignored her protests and buried his face in her chest, breathing her in…

When Yuebai had first returned to Jiangnan from Azure Forest, it took her six full months to forget those psychological scars and rebuild her dignity as an elder.

But now?

She’d planned to play it cool and maintain some authority around Yino. Ten minutes of cuddling later, her body had completely betrayed her, turning soft and clingy.

As a thoroughly trained and defeated pet, Yuebai didn’t dare make a scene in front of Ruoning when Yino refused to continue. She could only grit her teeth and endure, secretly rubbing against the table leg under the tea table.

“By the way, didn’t you see those wanted posters plastered around town when you got here?”

“Saw them. With Jinyue’s illusions covering us, they’re no threat.”

Since Ruoning stayed quiet, Yino jumped in.

He glanced at the worried girl beside him and smiled gently:

“The mountain path behind here leads straight to the Liuli Sect. Why don’t you head back first and let your master know you’re safe?”

The green-dressed girl who’d been chewing her lip nervously suddenly went wide-eyed.

“But… what if Master…”

Ruoning might act rebellious sometimes, but her Liu mansion upbringing had made her a good girl at heart.

These past six months at the Liuli Sect, she’d received nothing but care from her master, Ye Chaerin.

Back during the Liuli Convention in Liu Town, Ruoning had performed brilliantly on stage. That’s when Chaerin, representing the Liuli Sect, had extended an invitation to both her and Yino.

Technically, Ruoning and Ye Chaerin went way back.

But Ruoning had always hesitated to join the Liuli Sect because of her situation with Yino. She didn’t want to tie herself down, so she’d politely declined Chaerin’s invitations for ages.

Later, following Yino’s advice, she’d finally walked through the Liuli Sect’s gates.

Now…

Hearing that her master had been up all night worrying, Ruoning wanted to report her safety. But she was terrified that splitting up with Yino now might lead to her master dragging her back to the Liu mansion.

“If you’re really that worried, I’ve got a trick for you.”

Yino read her concerns easily, but he didn’t make it sound like some dramatic farewell. He just held up one finger, looking relaxed.

Ruoning blinked, all ears.

“Take the night path up the mountain. When you see Lady Chaerin, forget whatever she says – comfort or scolding – just throw yourself into her arms crying…”

“Tell her the Lin mansion pushed you too far. They want your innate holy physique and used their power to pressure everyone, trying to force you into marriage so you’d bear their children…”

“Say you were desperate. You refused to become some family alliance bargaining chip, so you had no choice but to run away…”

“Tell your master that if you hadn’t been lucky enough to escape with me last night, those tyrannical Lin mansion bastards would’ve already captured you by now!”

By the end of this story, even Yino who knew Ruoning’s original plot, felt a twinge of sympathy.

Ruoning listened with amazement:

“You’re absolutely right! Master isn’t heartless like that. If she knew what those Lin mansion people were up to, she’d definitely protect me!”

“Exactly. This way, lady Chaerin will shelter you, and when word gets out tomorrow that you’re safe, your Liu mansion family won’t worry anymore. Even if Lin mansion elders show up demanding your return, your master will stand by you and not let them kidnap you!”

Yino’s analysis left Ruoning stunned.

She thought it through and realized it made perfect sense!
