Re-Awakening: I Ascend with a Legendary class

Chapter 568: Tofen & Rombe, One Week

Chapter 568: Tofen & Rombe, One Week

Dorshild Port Town.

Town Chief Rombe’s Mansion.

In the upper floor’s office room, Rombe sat in front of a large screen. He had a muscular frame of 6’5 height, a thick black beard, and a pristine bald head.

And a pair of white crystal horns.

In front of him was a large screen showing footage of a battle.

“They are strong. What is their potential?”

“Four SSS-rank potential, and three… X-rank potential.”

“What?!”

Rombe’s eyes widened in shock.

“Yes… I have checked multiple times,” said the slim man with the upper body of a human, an antlered head, and the lower body of a snake.

“It’s been a week, but they have never entered the town. They are wandering in the wilderness, and are very strong.”

“A week? So this is a week old, Tofen?” Rombe glared at the man.

Tofen smiled wryly. “I had to confirm this potential reading multiple times. And they are sharp. I am Tier-3, but I would die at their hands without doing anything.”

Rombe’s eyes jumped. “Are they Tier-1 or Tier-2?”

“Tier-1. They don’t know how to break through to Tier-2, so they are just focusing on getting stronger by gaining inspirations and epiphanies to manifest and evolve their cards.”

Tofen sighed. “Their cards are too powerful. I did send four Tier-3 villains after them to test their power yesterday, and they were one-sidedly… humiliated?”

“What do you mean?”

“I mean… those people were using those Tier-3 villains as training dummies, but dummies who could seriously kill them if they made a slight mistake.” Tofen wiped the sweat as he still remembered the battle. “Their behaviour is not like they are in a survival world. They are partying and having fun, while also meditating daily, and getting strong without limit each day.”

“Since they are Tier-1, they only have one deck, but all cards of their decks are overpowered, and evolved with Epiphanies.”

“One guy has unlimited blades. If they break, they evolve, becoming stronger. And some of his blades are as strong as full-powered attacks of Tier-5 beings. Everything he kills becomes his power, so he’s just getting stronger and stronger.”

“What? Tier-5?” Rombe stood up. “Are you drunk? They are Tier-1, right?”

Tofen took a deep breath, his face turning somber. “Have you ever seen X-rank potential people in your life?”

“No.” Rombe shook his head.

“I have seen them for a week, every day.” Tofen stared at Rombe. “So listen. They have killed several Tier-5 beings in the wilderness. And whatever they kill becomes their power. That guy can literally create crazy blades from their body parts. There’s more, but I’ll move to the second X-ranker.”

“His wife, who commands ten strange monsters that just grow infinitely. All of them are as strong as Tier-5 right now. And she can transform them into gears. I saw one that one-shot killed a peak Tier-5 Woracus Cinderbail Wyvern.”

“And the last one… this guy is making it possible for the whole group to keep up their senses and perception against those fast Tier-5 beings. And that’s not all, he has an unlimited amount of buffs that just makes it impossible for them to be defeated unless some miracle happens.”

“It sounds crazy to hope for a miracle just to defeat Tier-1 beings, but I don’t think anyone in our town is their match. Not even you. Tier-6 could be a different story, but that’s a big power jump, and this layer 1 dimension’s ceiling is up to Tier-5.”

Tofen stupidly grinned. “These seven Tier-1 beings are the strongest here. By killing those strong Tier-5 beings, and turning them into their power, they can basically rule this world.”

“I should write a book. How to become the strongest in a Layer 1 dimension within a week.”

“So during this week, you were enjoying watching them without telling me anything?” Rombe narrowed his eyes. “You, who know very well about me, kept this a secret and enjoyed it alone?”

Tofen’s grin froze.

He had completely forgotten that the Town Chief liked to nurture talents, help them, and make connections before sending them to the next layer rather than letting them fall prey to the nasty practices of the other kingdoms in this layer.

But what he was watching was just so crazy that he completely forgot to inform him.

“Ch-Chief… you must understand. They are people we don’t see often! There are millions of Layer 1 dimensions, and how long has it been since we had SSS-rank, let alone X-rank?”

Rombe took a deep breath. “Alright, send them an invitation right now! I will personally welcome them.”

“Ahem, I already did before coming here.”

Rombe’s vein popped.

“But I really forgot to inform you! I swear! My mind was hijacked by curiosity!”

Rombe’s eyes narrowed. “Then you must keep something in your mind at all times from now on.”

He walked past Tofen with a snort and continued. “Curiosity killed the cat.”

But suddenly, Rombe stopped.

“Tofen, you said you sent those villains yesterday. But you already knew they were capable of killing Tier-5 beings. Did you send them to get them killed?”

Tofen scratched his head. “W-Well… th-they did deserve to die, and you were away whenever they appeared to kill, kidnap, rape, and loot traders for resources, so…”

“Good job.”

“Thank you, Chief!”

“Find out who among our guard was leaking them information about my absence.”

“Already done. I have locked him up in a dungeon for torture. I thought I would inform you later since those monstrous Tier-1 beings are the priority.”

“Good. Let him stay there for one more week, and give him a death sentence after six months.”

Tofen froze. “So six months of torture?”

“Indeed.”

“Roger.”

At the moment, Almond, Lily, Ainen, Saffa, Clovelle, Fraisea, and Gopu were at a riverbank with a rather fancy wooden camp and a tree house transformed using Ainen’s Interdimensional Restaurant neutral card.

It was evening, and the gang was having a barbecue. “By the way, I mixed up some good stuff when I marinated the meat.”

Almond blinked. “What good stuff?”

Ainen grinned. “You know when we visited that weird valley? There were some good mushrooms there. I tasted one, and it made me crazy high.”

“Oh, that will be fun!” Saffa’s eyes shone.

Clovelle nodded. “It’s been a while since we got something like that.”

“This night will be the best night here so far then,” Fraisea giggled.

Almond and Lily chuckled. They looked forward to the effects.

As the group ate peacefully for a few minutes, something happened.

“Hmm?” Ainen blinked. He was the first to notice, as his restaurant field had a 1-kilometer radius and everything inside was under his radar.

“Something magical is coming our way. It’s harmless,” he informed everyone.

Soon, it arrived. Everyone’s head tilted up as they saw a glowing mail with golden wings flying towards them.

It stopped above the campfire, and burned into sparks that transformed into Tofen.

“Pleasure and honor to meet you. I am the Deputy Chief of the Dorshild Port Town, Tofen Serpine. First, I would like to apologize for sending the Tier-3 villains after you yesterday, but there was no one in our town capable of killing them, so I had to send them to you.”

“Now, the main message. I’m sure you would like to know more about this world and how to break through to Tier-2. Town Chief Rombe is a good person who likes to help high-potential people in any way possible to make connections. To put it bluntly, his second deck’s main mechanism is that the more positive connections he makes with people, the stronger its cards.”

“So we bear no ill will towards you,” Tofen smiled. “Please come to the Dorshild Port Town. We would like to give you a warm welcome and help you in every way possible.”

“Positive connection is everything for us!”

At that, the sparks vanished.

Almond and the others looked at each other before they burst into laughter.

“Positive connection is everything for us!” Gopu shouted, and everyone went bonkers.

Ainen clutched his stomach while laughing.

’Shit, I think I added a bit too much variety and quantity of mushrooms.’

“Yo, do you want me to cleanse us all?!” Lily shouted. “OR NYOT?!”

“NYOOOT!” Saffa shouted back.

“NYOOOT!”

“NYOOTRrrrff…Cough, cough, cough!”

That night, all the surrounding monsters were scared to death and thought that the world was coming to an end because these lunatics, who were capable of killing everything, were suddenly laughing like crazy.

But soon after, all monsters nearby regained peace and fell asleep as the laughter died down and another type of sound, one they were used to hearing regularly, echoed.
