Chapter 3146: Wouldn’t That Mean They Were Endless?
Chapter 3146: Wouldn’t That Mean They Were Endless?
“That drug was intended to increase sperm count and enhance sperm vitality, but Xu Hongyuan could only ever manage to rub out one at a time.”
“Maybe the extra ones were inside the big sperm’s body?”
D*mn it. Just thinking about it made her feel sick.
“Maybe,” Wen Xing said. “But the issue isn’t how this happened. I’m worried that these small creatures will grow, and their bodies will also have countless more creatures inside them.”
As soon as Ning Shu heard this, her hair stood on end. She felt both disgusted and terrified.
Wouldn’t that mean they were endless?
Mommy… She wanted to go home.
“We’ll see,” Wen Xing said. He had a solemn expression on his face. “Maybe it won’t happen, but even just the ones that scattered are a headache to deal with.”
“All done,” the doctor said. Throughout Ning Shu and Wen Xing’s conversation, the doctor stared at them with a strange look in his eyes.
After getting their anti-inflammatory medication, Ning Shu and Wen Xing left the hospital.“Want to grab something to eat?” Wen Xing asked Ning Shu.
“I have no appetite at all.”
As they walked in the evening breeze, Ning Shu finally felt some of her tension ease, though her whole body still felt weak.
“What’s your entrustor’s wish?” Ning Shu asked Wen Xing.
“Of course, it’s for his family—his parents, wife, and kids, especially his son. His son was only one month old when he got swallowed whole. His entire family was killed,” Wen Xing replied.
“What did you do for them?”
“This place is too dangerous. I sent them away, somewhere far from the city.”
“In a scenario where we can’t control the situation and the monster grew even larger… As long as they’re not here, they’ll be safe.”
“I had them bring our funds, bank cards, and property deeds with them. If the monsters destroy the city, the government will have to compensate us. We’ll get that compensation as long as we have the documents to prove our ownership.”
Ning Shu stared at Wen Xing. She had thought that he was someone who wanted to spread love and kindness to the world. She hadn’t expected him to be so clever and thorough.
Then again, a task-taker’s job was to complete the task. They had to always keep their priorities straight.
If they still had time and strength, they could do some good deeds and earn some merit.
However, their priority was the task and their entrustor. After all, their entrustor offered their soul power to request a reversal of fate.
Self-preservation came before all else.
Ning Shu agreed to work with Wen Xing because she knew that only by completely eradicating these monsters could she change the entrustor’s fate.
Plus, Ning Shu still wanted to find more world origins.
Ning Shu wondered if she should take advantage of the current chaos in the city and buy property for herself.
If the situation spiraled out of control, and the monsters grew larger and wreaked havoc, would she be able to profit if the buildings collapsed?
But what if the government or developers didn’t compensate?
She’d lose both her money and her place to live.
Ning Shu was conflicted.
To buy, or not to buy? Don’t buy, buy, buy buy buy buy…
“What’s your task?” Wen Xing asked.
Ning Shu: “Buy a house, buy a house, buy a house!!!”
Wen Xing: “???”
“What’s your ID number? I’ll add you. We can team up for future tasks,” Wen Xing said.
“2333,” Ning Shu answered.
“Tell me your ID number so I can add you,” Wen Xing said again.
“…Two, three, three, three!” Ning Shu repeated.
Wen Xing paused for a moment. “I’ll have my system add you.”
Ning Shu had a feeling Wen Xing was laughing at her ID number inwardly. But, who knew why she got that number? She certainly didn’t.
“If you ever need to team up for a task, you can also reach out to me,” Wen Xing said kindly.
