Chapter 841: The Venom King, Xhan Wu [Bonus]

Chapter 841: The Venom King, Xhan Wu [Bonus]

“Isn’t that the Kent guy who everyone keeps talking about?”

“That is him. I learned he dominated the entire outer and inner sect while we were away.”

“Good for him. If we were around, he would have seen what true talent looks like.”

Three inner disciples, each from the Lightning Peak, said smugly, staring at Kent, who had just landed in the Mutual space.

It was the only place in the sect where all disciples could meet and train.

Those who wanted to measure their strength against the disciples from other cultivation peaks mostly frequented this place. Kent, who was the only disciple to join the abandoned peak, was also there to see what he could get from there.

He hadn’t even landed when he started sensing gazes from almost everywhere.

“Should we test him?” one of the disciples asked.

“There is no need. I learned he has been offered a slot to join the selection trial; we will see his strength then.”

“Good for him, I guess.”

The more they looked at Kent, the hungrier they became to exchange blows with him. It pained them that during the duel, they werent around.

As the only three out of the many disciples from the Lightning Peak to be selected to participate in the selection trial, they saw themselves as superior to the others.

Kent, of course, was minding his business, exploring the many things the sect had to offer. A few minutes into his exploration, a voice called out from behind him, making him wish that lightning would fall from the heavens and strike the person.

“Big brother Kent, I miss you so much.”

When Kent turned to face Nyss, he saw her lunging at him with her arms wide open for a hug. He contemplated dodging, but he didn’t have the heart to do that, so he let the troublemaker fall into his arms and hug him.

“Big brother Kent, where have you been all this time? I came here every single day to see you, but you were nowhere to be found. I even cried a few times, just missing you.”

Nyss asked, Kent, holding her hand as they walked around.

“Don’t you have like a training or something important to do?” Kent asked, but Nyss just shrugged.

“Training is boring. I prefer to go about my day like a normal person instead of training like a maniac every single day.”

Kent didn’t say anything but just focused his energy through her body and found out all she said was bullshit. She had improved, and Kent could feel it.

‘Looks like her Soul Flame isn’t simple at all. Perhaps that was why it was sealed in the first place.’

Kent wanted to know more about that, but after a few moments of thought, he let it slide. There are other important things he can focus on, and this isn’t one of them. Perhaps in the future, he will know more.

“Have you tried the Perfect Chamber?” Kent instead chose to ask something he could learn from.

“I did, but I was defeated at 61%. It turns out my true potential is more talented than I am. But I learned a lot, and I am sure the next time I try, I will be able to push forward more.”

“Maybe you should train more instead of obsessing over me. I dont even like your nosy and troublemaking”

“Well, I like your aloofness, and I can’t get enough of you, big brother. Perhaps if you spar with me, I will be forced to train more.”

“I have no plans to spar with you and will never have such plans in the future,” Kent smirked.

“Then I won’t train and keep following you around whenever I get the chance, like today.”

“Go ahead. You will be the one slacking while the rest of your friends surpass you.” Nyss didn’t answer him, but judging by the look on her face, she wasn’t going to slack off after today’s meeting.

She is no simple person, so Kent knew she would make something out of herself, and like she said, she will face the Perfect Chamber again.

Kent was about to say something new when he felt a sudden glare lock on him. This moved him, and turning sharply toward the gaze, his eyes met a pair of dangerous green eyes.

Those eyes belong to the Venom King.

He is slender and wiry, with ash-grey skin. His long, black hair is tied back with green silk, and judging by the look on his face, he doesn’t appear happy to see Kent holding hands with his sister.

Suddenly, the entire Mutual space turned quiet as everyone felt the poison in the air.

Xhan Wu, also known as the Venom King, was staring at Kent. That is not something anyone wanted to see, for it was not meant to happen this early.

However, it was happening: a Core disciple who had been seeded for the upcoming Interplanetary sect competition was inside the inner sect, and his demeanor wasn’t friendly.

Of course, the Venom King never smiled or looked friendly, but they all could feel the intensity of his gaze on Kent, and that alone made them take a few steps back.

Kent examined the fellow and then tapped Nyss on the shoulder, asking a question that made many gasp.

“Who is that weirdo?”

Nyss smiled, hearing Kent’s question like it was her morning tea.

“That is my brother, Xhan. But they call him the Venom King.”

“Oh, I see. In any case, can you tell him to stop staring at me like I have stolen his wife?”

“Big brother Xhan, Kent said I should tell you to stop staring at him like he had stolen your wife.”

Nyss, of course, was happy to comply, for while he calls Xhan his brother, they are, in fact, not from the same mother, and, well, they don’t get along like siblings should.

In a way, she was fanning the flames already, pouring more fuel into making him very mad.

Naturally, the torment worked.

Xhan frowned and moved, appearing before Kent in an instant with a palm strike.

However, while he aimed with all his heart to leave a poison imprint on Kent’s body for later use, his palm struck the air, for Kent saw him attack and evade even before his palm moved.

Hush sound spread everywhere again, this time not for Xhan but for Kent, who was the only one who managed to evade Xhan’s Poison Palm.

It had never happened before, so this was a shock to them.

Kent appeared 3 meters from Xhan, still holding Nyss’s hands.

“That was not cool, young man. I don’t suppose we know each other, so why attack me?” Kent asked with a frown.

He hadn’t expected an attack to come so early, especially not from a dignified Core disciple. So being attacked was random. However, it also gave him the platform to see where things go.

“Shouldn’t a Core disciple be more regal and appear above mere inner disciples like me, who hasn’t even formed his core yet?”

“Let go of her hand,” Xhan said, locking his gaze on Kent. However, Kent remained unfazed. He shrugged off Xhan’s killing intent and pointed at him.
