Chapter 1108: Hateful Opponents

Chapter 1108: Hateful Opponents

The Supreme Immortal Sect and the Blade Soul Sect are all vying to reach the final, where they will either face the 1st-ranked Celestial Gate Sect or the 5th-ranked Everlasting Dawn Life Sect.

This is the semi-finals, so everyone wants to have a shot at winning.

A decade ago, they faced the Primal Beast Sect in the semi-finals and lost. But this time, they will be facing the Blade Soul Sect, which specializes in soul arts using weapons as the medium.

They are in no way to be underestimated.

Those who practice soul arts are dangerous, and Lady Enzi knew that, so she planned well for it.

“Remember, we just have to win three matches with minimal effort so they can call for a team battle. Winning three matches will mean they will either bring their big guns into the team battle or use them in the individual match.

Either way, one or two seeded disciples will fight, and defeating them will give them a clear picture of what we are capable of. So the individual battles are the priority now.”

Lady Enzi merely wants to crush the enemy’s resolve before the battle even begins. She knew they would ask for a team battle if they were defeated three in a row, so she planned for that.

If they send three seeded disciples and they all lose, meeting in the team battles will give the Supreme Immortal Sect a good idea of what they should expect.

However, sometimes, things just don’t work out the way one expects them to…

“The Blade Soul Sect has opted for a team battle. They want to drop the individual battles altogether,” the elder who would be overseeing the battle between the two sects said, and Lady Enzi’s expression changed.

“Change of plans, everyone: the enemy has a trump card, and so they plan to use it. This means we are in trouble.”

Lady Enzi has attended many Interplanetary Sect competitions, so she is already familiar with how things work. The moment the opponent requests a team battle right from the start, it means they have a way to eliminate the majority of their opponents’ disciples, thereby allowing them an easy win.

Obviously, that is detrimental to the Supreme Immortal Sect.

Their formation has been altered, and so they can only play the opponent’s game.

“Just go all out if need be. Also, implement Plan B if necessary.” The only way out is if they manage to end the battle much more quickly. If they allow the enemy too much time, they will become difficult to deal with.

The disciples nodded and entered the Arena.

“Looks like your trump card is not here, huh?” one of the disciples from the Blade Soul Sect said, his expression mocking.

The Blade Soul Sect only accepts male disciples, citing that they are focused on masculine energy. This made them hated by most females, so when their faces turned into grins, the ladies in the Supreme Immortal Sect became pissed.

Especially Nyss, who wanted nothing more than to wipe that smirk off their faces…

“Relax, Nyss, go with the plan, and you will have the chance to beat the crap out of them,” Vanna, the Pill Princess, said.

“Okay, big sister Vanna.” Nyss calms down a bit, but she is still pissed.

“Looks like this will be too easy, boys,” the captain of the Blade Soul Sect said, and his teammates nodded.

Kent is the only one they are afraid of. Since he isn’t participating, they are confident in their win.

“Remember, once we take them out, the last one should be toyed with till they start crying,” he spoke again, and the others nodded.

“I call dibs on the blue-haired Ice beauty. She looks like a good sport.”

The Ice Maiden, who chose to keep her cool, looked at the bastard who was pointing at her, and her eyes changed color.

“Wow, chill girl, this is not the kitchen where you belong, so no need to look constipated.”

“I know, right? With those slender fingers, having an apron on and cooking for her husband is the only way she will be useful.”

“I know you have insight, Shaw. You are much more brilliant than I gave you credit for.”

Shaw, one of the seeded disciples from the Blade Soul Sect, grinned. He held a scythe, and a streak of tattoos moved along his neck, giving him a dangerous yet unlikable look.

“You know me, Brian, when it comes to the woman’s role in the universe, I never disappoint,” Shaw said.

“That you never did, and I like you for that. As a gift, I will give you the feisty one. I learned she is both feisty in bed and in the kitchen.”

The other Blade Soul Sect disciples laughed, causing the Supreme Immortal Sect disciples to frown.

At the audience stand, Val saw this, and a frown appeared on her face. “This is bad. Although I am all about getting under your opponent’s skin before the start of the battle, these bastards are taking it too far.”

“Yes. What a bunch of losers.” Lani frowned too, and her hand reached toward her dagger. She wanted nothing more than to sever their heads before they continued to look down on women.

Although the insults aren’t directed at her, she is also a woman and has been where these disciples were, so she is pissed, and her sisters aren’t doing any better…

Even Vexthra had a frown on her face.

However, unlike her sisters, she didn’t have any plans to kill them. In fact, she was taken aback by something that her sisters had missed.

“Relax, everyone. I believe these male bastards are cooked,” Vexthra said with a small smile, causing her sisters to wonder why she had a smile while she should be seething in anger like them.

Vexthra knew what they were thinking, so she pointed toward Princess Elowen. “You ladies can’t see because Princess Elowen is blocking a part of the battlefield with her glass element.

Aside from Nyss, the Ice Maiden, and the four male disciples, the expressions on Princess Elowen and Vanna’s faces are all fake.

She is merely reflecting a false image to everyone. This means she has a plan, and if she is anything like her master, then I have no doubt this battle will end much faster and more brutally.”

The ladies didn’t know something like that was happening. They only heard the profane words of the Blade Soul Sect disciples, and they got riled up. But Vexthra, whose mental capacity is much stronger, saw through them.

Now, she also became curious as to why the two princesses chose to hide their genuine expressions…

“Start this battle already because this suspense is killing me.” Vexthra sighed and decided to watch a good battle.

Soon, the elder officiating the battle had had enough, so he decided to start the battle.

“Remember, there is a no-killing policy, so be mindful of your attacks. Those who violate this rule will be banned for life, and the sect they represent will be disqualified from participating in future competitions for the next 36 years.”

Both sides nodded.

“Begin!”

The moment the match began, the Blade Soul Sect brought out a skull and started channeling their soul energy into it. Everyone frowned, some turning pale.

“No way…”
