Chapter 528 - 526: Sister, You’re Eating Too Well

Chapter 528: Chapter 526: Sister, You’re Eating Too Well

It had been a long time since she’d seen Nerida. Seeing her again, she realized Nerida was still just as beautiful.

"Nerida."

Celeste Grant waved happily, her feet carrying her toward her friend without a second thought. Nerida did the same, rushing to meet her.

Nerida threw her arms around her.

Celeste hugged her back, her face lit with delight.

"It’s been so long, Nerida. I’ve missed you so much."

"I’ve missed you too, Celeste. I’m so happy I can finally see you again." Nerida meant every word. While in the Lower Realm, she had thought of Celeste Grant and her family every single day, her one goal to advance her cultivation and ascend to find them.

After their embrace, Nerida held Celeste Grant’s arms and looked her over. "You’re still so beautiful! You haven’t changed a bit, and you haven’t lost any weight. It seems The Exalted One hasn’t been bullying you."

Hearing this, Javier Sinclair, who was standing to the side, scoffed. "Nerida, what are you implying? Do I look like the kind of man who would bully his own woman? I can’t dote on her enough as it is; how could I possibly bully her?"

Celeste Grant laughed and linked arms with Nerida. "That’s right! Your Exalted One wouldn’t dare bully me. If there’s any bullying to be done, it’s me bullying him. I might even make him kneel on the washboard now and then."

Javier Sinclair put a hand on his hip, his gaze sweeping over Nerida as he retorted, "See? I’m the one who gets bullied here. Nerida, whose Left Protector are you, anyway? I don’t see you showing me any concern."

Nerida hugged Celeste Grant tighter. "That’s irrelevant. You’re a grown-up Exalted One now. You don’t need me. Celeste is different. She needs me."

Celeste Grant nodded. "Mhm, mhm. Nerida, I can’t live without you. Why don’t we just run off and live together from now on?"

Nerida’s face lit up. "Yes! Of course we can!" ’I have no objections at all. I’d be overjoyed to live with Celeste! It would be amazing.’

"Absolutely not. In your dreams, Nerida," Javier Sinclair said through gritted teeth. "My wife is staying with me. Nerida, you have a Taoist Companion now. Go hug your own wife. This one is mine."

Celeste Grant burst out laughing and pointed at them.

"Javier Sinclair, you’re so childish."

Nerida smiled. "The Exalted One is seven years old this year. It’s not easy."

Aeron walked over slowly, stopping a few paces away. He couldn’t help but smile as he watched the heartwarming scene unfold.

’No wonder Nerida was so eager to leave Silvanis. There really were people out here waiting for her. This must be the ’Mrs. Grant’ she was always talking about, right? And this is The Exalted One. I can see they have a wonderful relationship.’

Just then, Celeste Grant’s gaze fell upon Aeron. The man before her was tall and elegant, dressed in cyan robes. He had a handsome, well-defined face and smiling eyes, exuding a gentle, jade-like warmth.

’Handsome.’

’He’s like one of those peerless gentlemen from the poems, as flawless as jade. His aura is incredible. He’s the complete opposite of Javier Sinclair.’ Celeste had always appreciated beautiful things. And, as the saying goes, if you love someone, you love those they love. Since he was Nerida’s Taoist Companion, he was one of them.

"So, this is your Taoist Companion?"

Nerida’s gaze shifted to Aeron, her expression softening as their eyes met. She nodded slightly and said in a low voice, "Yes, this is my Taoist Companion. His name is Aeron, and he’s from Silvanis."

Celeste Grant patted her on the shoulder. "Look at you, Nerida! Bringing a Taoist Companion home and everything." She leaned in and whispered, "Gentle as jade and uncommonly handsome... girl, you’re eating well."

Nerida blushed at the teasing, feeling a little embarrassed as certain images flashed through her mind. ’I have to admit,’ she thought, ’Celeste is right. I really am eating very well.’

But she cleared her throat and said, "Celeste, behave yourself."

Celeste draped an arm over Nerida’s shoulder and grinned. "I am behaving. When am I ever not?"

Nerida turned to Aeron to make the introductions. "Aeron, you’ve already met The Exalted One. And this is his wife, Mrs. Grant."

Hearing the introduction, Aeron stepped forward and bowed politely.

"Your Exalted One. Mrs. Grant."

He had nearly died back in Silvanis, and it was The Exalted One who had saved him. At the thought, Aeron bowed to Javier Sinclair once more. "Back in Silvanis, I suffered a backlash and almost died. It was you, Your Exalted One, who saved me. If not for you, Nerida and I would have been separated by death. I thank you again for saving my life."

Javier Sinclair glanced at him and waved a dismissive hand. "I did it for Nerida’s sake. I wasn’t about to let you die on her account."

"Please, don’t be so formal." Celeste Grant looked at Aeron with a warm smile. "You’re Nerida’s Taoist Companion, so you’re one of us now. Aeron, welcome to the Demonic Domain. Please, make yourself at home here. Nerida is like family to us."

Aeron was touched.

He nodded slightly.

"Thank you, Mrs. Grant."

’To be honest, I was a little nervous following Nerida here. I was worried her family would be difficult to get along with, but they’re all wonderful people. The Exalted One seems a bit short-tempered, but he also seems fiercely protective of his own.’

"Of course. I hope you and Nerida will be very happy together. Here’s to having two kids in three years!"

Nerida nearly choked when she heard that. She gave a dry laugh and said, "Celeste, I think that might be a little ambitious."

’Children... She hadn’t really thought about that yet. Nerida had never planned on finding a Taoist Companion, but now she had one. So maybe children would be in their future! But that was still a long way off!’

Aeron, on the other hand, smiled, looking quite hopeful.

’A child with Nerida?’

Aeron’s gaze fell to Nerida’s stomach as he wondered, ’I wonder when my wife will be with child. When will Nerida and I have a baby? If we did, our child would certainly be beautiful. A child of ours would have to be clever.’

With that in mind, he spoke up. "Mrs. Grant, rest assured, my health is excellent! No hereditary illnesses in my family. I can definitely get Nerida pregnant." Before he could finish, Nerida was at his side in two strides. She clamped a hand over his mouth. "Not another word."

Aeron nodded meekly.

Celeste Grant looked at the pair and burst out laughing. ’Their bond is so strong,’ she thought, genuinely happy that Nerida had found her own happiness.

Thinking of this, she asked, "Your bond is so strong. When are you planning to have the wedding?"

Nerida glanced at Aeron, then said, "We’ll leave it entirely up to you, Mrs. Grant."

Celeste Grant nodded. "Alright, no problem," she said softly. "I am definitely going to celebrate at this wedding. I’ll have Elder Sawyer look for an auspicious date and draw up a marriage certificate. Then we’ll have him choose the best day for the ceremony. I’ll also have the betrothal gifts prepared so we can make the proposal. We’ll make sure your wedding is an absolutely spectacular affair."
