Perfect Villain Life: Universal Job Change

Chapter 287: The First Noble House

Chapter 287: The First Noble House

After Emperor Caesar made his declaration, the hesitant and wavering lords of the various factions finally made their decisions as well.

“In that case, the elven race will follow Lord Rosha’s lead.”

“So will the dwarves!”

King Thranduil of the elves and King Erik Ironhammer of the dwarves both stepped forward without hesitation. They were, aside from Emperor Caesar, Rosha’s staunchest supporters. With the three great leaders taking a firm stance, the rest of the lords had no choice but to nod in agreement.

Among them, the most reluctant were the kings of the other human nations. After all, humans—regardless of the world—were always the most prone to infighting. Still, with the Capet Empire already committing its ten elite legions, none of them could voice open objection. They could only feign agreement, hiding their grudges behind polite nods.

“This offensive will be Hydra World’s desperate counterattack!” Rosha’s voice rang with strength as he raised his fist. “We cannot sit and wait for death! If we do not act, we will only be slowly worn down. We must strike at the root of the Void Army and end this once and for all!”

“Do you truly want your children and their descendants to grow up in a world of despair and endless war!?”

“No!”

Rosha’s words carried a strange power, one that inspired all who heard them. Even the skeptical human kings couldn’t help but shout in unison. The people of Hydra had been steeped in despair for too long.

From the moment they were born, war had been an inescapable shadow. If there was a chance to end it, they were willing to take it.

“But we must plan carefully.” Qin Xian once again spoke.

“The Void Army’s power is overwhelming. With all due respect, the reason Hydra World has lasted this long is because of the World’s Blessing, which weakens the Void’s power. It is only by this divine boon that you’ve resisted for so many years.”

“If we move beyond the blessed lands and into the corrupted zones, our troops will suffer enormous losses. On the open battlefield, we will not be able to match the Void Army head-on.”

His words drew solemn looks from the gathered leaders. Everyone knew he was right.

In terms of top-tier strength, Hydra World had a handful of figures who could battle Void Warlords—Rosha, Qin Xian, perhaps Caesar himself—but the vast majority of their soldiers were little more than lambs to the slaughter when facing the Void.

Charging blindly into enemy territory would be nothing short of suicide.

Rosha nodded. “Indeed. Our goal is not to engage in a full-scale war with the Void. Our true aim is to destroy the Hatchery. If we can do that, then the Void Army’s infinite spawning will cease. That is how we can win this war.”

Relief appeared on many faces.

Emperor Caesar’s expression turned contemplative. “So you’re saying this grand offensive is a feint? A diversion to draw the main force of the Void away while a strike team destroys the Hatchery?”

Rosha nodded. “That’s correct. It’s our only chance. But even so, we still don’t know where the Hatchery is located, nor how heavily guarded it is. We’ll need thorough reconnaissance and preparation. We’ll only get one shot.”

“And…” Rosha’s expression grew grim.

The task of destroying the Hatchery couldn’t be done by a large force. A massive army would draw attention, and the Void Army would never allow their most important structure to fall.

It would have to be a small, elite team.

The leaders all nodded solemnly.

Regardless, the overall plan was taking shape. After the meeting, all factions would begin preparing for war. And this time, it wouldn’t be passive defense—it would be an offensive strike.

In any other world, such frequent war might stir unrest among the people. But Hydra was different. Its citizens had grown numb to battle and death long ago. It was a tragedy born of endless conflict.

The meeting neared its end.

However, many couldn’t help but glance toward the grand hall’s entrance. One important presence was still missing—the representative of the Spear Saint Family, the once-proud Saint Spear Clan.

After the humiliation at Windsor Domain, their reputation had taken a severe hit. The once overbearing members of the family had all withdrawn, becoming notably quieter.

Even so, no one could deny the status of the Saint Spear Family.

They remained the First Noble House of Hydra.

In past meetings, their opinion had always been a deciding factor.

Without their voice here, it felt as if half the meeting’s weight was missing.
