Perfect Villain Life: Universal Job Change

Chapter 267: Acting Like a Big Shot

Chapter 267: Acting Like a Big Shot

Seeing the look in Zahl’s eyes, Anthony’s heart sank. This is bad. It was clear that Zahl had caught on to the closeness between Soren and Lia—and with his personality, he might just lash out on the spot.

Anthony quickly stepped in. “This is Lord Soren, a guest of honor of the Windsor Family. He saved Lia’s life.”

He deliberately emphasized the words “guest of honor.” If Zahl dared to attack, Anthony would have to intervene. Soren was, after all, Lia’s savior.

And after spending time with him these past few days, Anthony had grown to genuinely appreciate him. If Zahl killed Soren here, it would be a disgrace to the Windsor Family. Worse yet, it would mean bowing to the Saint-Spear Clan.

But Zahl wasn’t listening to anyone anymore.

The moment he heard that Soren had rescued Lia, his fury erupted. Hero saving beauty? And judging from the way Lia looked at Soren—with affection in her eyes—it made Zahl want to explode. Lia had never looked at him like that.

In Zahl’s mind, Lia was his. Her running away for years had already made him a laughingstock among the nobility. Now she had come home… and brought back some pretty-boy rival?

His rage surged. His eyes grew colder than ice, and his Frost Dragon beneath him sensed his fury through their soul bond. The beast roared, its draconic pressure flooding Windsor Territory like a crashing wave.

Zahl’s killing intent burned in his gaze.

He was itching to act—but his mind still retained a shred of reason. This was the Windsor estate. Killing someone here—especially someone Anthony had called a “guest of honor”—would ignite a full-blown feud.

Even though the Windsors were weakened, Anthony was still a 9-star Grand Magister, and their alliance with Hero Rosha was nothing to take lightly.

Even the Saint-Spear Family had to tread carefully when Rosha was involved.

Zahl took a deep breath and coldly said, “I’ll give you five minutes. Leave now, before I change my mind.”

Anthony’s face turned grim, but inwardly, he felt some relief. Harsh as it was, this might be the best-case outcome. After all… the Saint-Spear Family was not to be trifled with.

Lia’s face went pale. She hadn’t expected Zahl to appear so soon. She bit her lip, then stepped forward, furious.

“Why should he leave? Soren is my savior! This is the Windsor estate—you have no right to drive him away!”

Hearing her speak up for Soren made Zahl’s fury spike. His voice rang out like a dragon’s roar across the skies.

“Get out of Windsor lands now! And if you ever see Lia again, I promise you—your family will suffer for it!”

The roar echoed across the entire Windsor Domain.

In the eye of the storm, Qin Xian remained calm. Completely unshaken, he even had the audacity to smile.

He looked at Zahl and said, lightly, “You’re the first person who’s dared to threaten me. That takes guts.”

Up to this point, Qin Xian had behaved modestly—gentle and humble. But now, the air around him had changed.

Unlike Zahl, who relied on family background to act superior, Qin Xian’s confidence came from something far more terrifying—complete, utter control. A quiet power that didn’t need to shout.

Zahl suddenly felt a sliver of unease. This man… felt different. But blinded by rage, he refused to back down. So what if he’s strong? The Saint-Spear Clan fears no one!

“Oh really?” Zahl gave a cruel smile. “I don’t know who you are—and I don’t need to know.”

The next second, his Frost Dragon let out a deafening roar and unleashed its frost breath.

A torrent of freezing energy blasted toward Qin Xian like a glacial storm. Anthony’s eyes narrowed. He clenched his fists, ready to act—Zahl had gone too far!

He didn’t think Soren could handle it. Zahl was a Dragon Knight. His strength and that of his mount combined made for a terrifying force.

But just as Anthony was about to make a move—Qin Xian struck first.

Without a word, a towering column of divine light erupted from him, blasting straight into the sky. The holy light surged forward like a tidal wave and vaporized the Frost Dragon’s breath instantly.

“…Huh?” Zahl’s expression shifted.

He had assumed Soren was just a decent-level knight, a glorified pretty face. But to so easily nullify his dragon’s breath?

This guy’s strong.

He opened his mouth to speak again—but before he could finish, Qin Xian vanished.

In the blink of an eye, he shot into the air, surrounded by blazing holy radiance. The divine aura pouring off him made him look like a descended god, majestic and untouchable.

Then came the swords.

Dozens—hundreds—of radiant holy swords formed in the air around him, each one humming with divine wrath. They rained down on the Frost Dragon like a heavenly judgment.

The beast screamed in agony.

It was a dragon, one of the strongest creatures in all of Hydra. Its hide was supposed to be impenetrable, its power unmatched.

But in front of Qin Xian’s Holy Sword Domain, it may as well have been paper.
