Chapter 260: Disguise
Chapter 260: Disguise
Lilian was, of course, no stranger to Rosha. This Hero of Hydra had, almost single-handedly, held up the collapsing world against the endless void.
The Blood Legion had naturally investigated him in depth. When Qin Xian asked, Lilian dared not delay and immediately relayed everything she knew.
Qin Xian stood with hands behind his back, listening silently, his eyes narrowing slightly as he absorbed the details. Rosha’s life path—it was the very image of a destined child, a true bearer of fate.
“He alone was enough to hold all of you back?” Qin Xian let out a quiet laugh.
Hearing what sounded like a trace of mockery in that laugh, Lilian’s heart skipped a beat. Panic surged through her as she quickly explained, “Your Highness, if it were just Rosha himself, naturally we would have crushed him.
But the issue is that he’s been acknowledged by the World Origin of Hydra. His power can draw on the laws of the world itself. Within his domain, our strength is greatly suppressed. That’s the only reason we—”
She trailed off, a hint of helplessness in her voice. As the commander of the Blood Legion, she had invaded countless worlds, but Hydra… it had been her greatest failure.
Rosha had the ability to awaken and wield the full power of the world’s Origin, as if he were its very incarnation.
“He can wield the World Origin…” Qin Xian narrowed his eyes further.
At this point, his understanding of the void and the cosmos was profound. The World Origin was the sum of a world’s primal laws, formed at the moment of its creation—mysterious and unfathomable.
Even the creator gods of many worlds could not fully control it. And yet this Rosha, a mere mortal, had managed to draw out its full power. It was… intriguing.
“In that case, I’ll go meet this so-called Hero myself,” Qin Xian said calmly.
Lilian’s expression immediately turned pale with alarm. She blurted out nervously, “Your Highness, you mean—”
Qin Xian gave a faint smile. “Since the World Origin is giving you so much trouble, then let’s attack from within. I’ll infiltrate Hydra in disguise, personally.”
The moment those words left his lips, Lilian and the surrounding void beings were visibly shaken.
“Your Highness!” Lilian quickly stepped forward. “I don’t doubt your strength, but Hydra is truly… formidable. For your own safety, it would be best if you commanded from the rear.”
She clenched her teeth and declared with resolve, “I swear, I’ll take Hydra within six months!”
She was prepared to sacrifice the entire Blood Legion if it came to that. If anything happened to Qin Xian, she would be the first to die—if not by the Void Empress’s wrath, then at Qin Xian’s own hands.
Qin Xian’s eyes narrowed, his smile vanishing. His voice turned cold.
“Are you questioning my decision, Lilian?”
An unbearable pressure swept over the room. Lilian dropped to her knees, unable to utter another word.
“I wouldn’t dare!” she trembled. In that moment, she felt as though a cosmic terror had set its gaze upon her. Her life and soul were wholly within Qin Xian’s grasp.
“If you ever question me again… kill yourself,” Qin Xian said coldly.
Lilian nodded frantically, not daring to protest again. In her heart, she could only marvel—so this was the son of the Void Empress. The same ruthless will, the same terrifying presence. Yet Qin Xian was still merciful in comparison. If it had been the Empress herself, Lilian would already be dead.
Though Alwen was also surprised by Qin Xian’s decision, she said nothing. Having followed him for some time, she understood his nature. Not even the Void Empress could change his mind—how could Lilian hope to?
As for Qin Xian, he didn’t care about the thoughts of these void creatures. As the heir of the First Royal Court, his word was law.
His primary class was Oracle Knight, a role that made disguising his identity incredibly easy. Entering Hydra undetected would be no trouble at all. As for the language barrier—he didn’t even consider it an issue.
Language was just another method of communication. For someone at his level, it was laughably simple to learn.
…
In the world of Hydra, on the continent of Hope.
A caravan moved slowly along a well-worn road. Despite the looming threat of the void, life went on. The people had to continue trading, traveling, surviving. Even here on Hope, things were far from peaceful. The caravan had hired guards to deal with roaming beasts—creatures twisted and mutated by the influence of the void.
“This journey’s been smoother than expected,” said a cheerful red-haired girl from within the escort party.
She smiled at the caravan’s leader, a middle-aged human man who laughed heartily and replied, “That’s thanks to you, Captain Lia. Without your help, we’d have lost half our cargo to those beasts.”
The red-haired girl, Lia, was the leader of the escort team. Though young, she was already a 5-star Flame Mage—an impressive force in her own right. The merchants had paid a hefty sum to hire her and her mercenary group.
The caravan leader sighed, glancing toward the darkened horizon.
“These beasts are appearing more and more frequently now…”
