Perfect Villain Life: Universal Job Change

Chapter 227: The True Name of a Demon

Chapter 227: The True Name of a Demon

The Abyssal Queen barely resisted the overwhelming impulse to kneel. Despite the crushing pressure of a Void Overlord’s presence, she was, after all, the ruler of the Abyss, the strongest of all demon progenitors.

If it had been Qin Xian’s mother, the Void Empress, or another Void Overlord, she would have already fallen to her knees without question. But Qin Xian… he was merely a juvenile Void Overlord.

Though the bloodline suppression still existed, it was not absolute—not to the extent that she would be rendered completely powerless.

However, the killing intent and battle fervor in the Abyssal Queen’s eyes had completely vanished. In their place, a storm of shock, confusion, and deep contemplation swirled in her mind. She hesitated before speaking, her voice tinged with an unconscious reverence.

“You… You are a Void Overlord?” Without realizing it, she had already begun addressing him with honorifics.

Even if he was still in his juvenile stage, a Void Overlord was still a Void Overlord—an existence destined to become one of the greatest terrors of the universe.

The Abyssal Queen’s heart pounded in disbelief, struggling to grasp the reality before her. The Void and humanity were sworn enemies, an eternal conflict of devour or be devoured.

Though Void Overlords had never descended into the human world in person, their subordinates—Void Lords and Void Generals—had relentlessly invaded Blue Star, seeking to corrupt and consume it. And now, the greatest prodigy of the human world, Qin Xian, was secretly a Void Overlord!?

Even for the Abyssal Queen, a shiver of deep unease crawled up her spine.

Qin Xian stood with his hands clasped behind his back, gazing down at her with cold indifference—as if she were nothing more than a mere insect beneath his feet. If this had been before, his arrogance alone would have been enough to provoke her wrath.

But now, she felt no anger at all.

Instead, she found herself thinking—wasn’t it only natural for a Void Overlord to act this way? After all, among the Void, the Abyss, and other chaotic realms, Void Overlords were undoubtedly the supreme sovereigns.

Yet, questions flooded her mind. The Void had only ever known seven Overlords, a fact unchanged for countless eons. Each time a new Void Overlord was born, it was accompanied by the annihilation of countless worlds.

Aside from that, the only other way for a new Overlord to be born was through the lineage of an existing one.

But even this was extremely rare. The Lord of Pestilence, for example, had sired countless offspring, yet there were barely any who had reached even the rank of Void Lords. Of course, this was largely due to the Lord of Pestilence’s indiscriminate breeding habits—many of his so-called concubines were nothing more than mindless beasts, devoid of intelligence.

So then… who was Qin Xian’s progenitor?

The Abyssal Queen cautiously asked, “Might I ask… which lineage do you hail from?”

A smirk curled on Qin Xian’s lips, “Allow me to introduce myself…”

His voidfire-infused gaze burned with an apocalyptic radiance, resembling a cataclysmic god of destruction stepping forth from the abyss of the void.

“Heir to the First Void Royal Court. Son of the Void Empress.”

The Abyssal Queen’s breath hitched, her entire body stiffening in sheer terror.

The Void Empress. The greatest terror in the hearts of all living beings. Her very existence was the embodiment of dread itself.

As she stared at Qin Xian, the Abyssal Queen felt it—that same aura of dread lingering upon him. It was unmistakable.

If Qin Xian’s identity as a Void Overlord had left her shocked—then his identity as the son of the Void Empress filled her with pure, unfiltered fear.

Her goal, her greatest ambition, had always been to evolve to a level akin to a Void Overlord. She had once encountered a Void Overlord’s avatar—the Lord of Calamity, ruler of the Sixth Royal Court.

Even though it had only been a mere fragment of his will, his presence alone had nearly crushed the entire Abyss. She had barely managed to retain her dignity, relying solely on the Abyss’s fundamental laws to withstand the overwhelming suppression.

But that was merely the Lord of Calamity. Compared to the Void Empress, he was nothing.

The Abyssal Queen stood frozen in place, her mind blank for a long moment, before she slowly lowered her head.

“I, Mortana, Queen of the Abyss, pay my respects to you, Lord Qin Xian.”

Mortana.

Her true name.

For a demon, their true name was their greatest vulnerability. If someone obtained a demon’s true name, they could use divine incantations and exorcism techniques to subdue or even purify them. This was one of humanity’s greatest tools against demons.

As the ruler of the Abyss, Mortana did not fear such methods. Yet, she had voluntarily revealed her true name—an act of undeniable submission.

This was her way of expressing sincerity—a silent declaration that the Abyss had no intention of opposing the Void.

Qin Xian watched as the once haughty Abyssal Queen bowed her head with reverence, the contrast almost amusing. Now that he had revealed his true form, there was no way she would dare oppose him.

As for whether she would spread this information?

Qin Xian wasn’t concerned in the slightest. First of all, the Abyss had no desire to antagonize the Void, and their hostile gaze was fixed upon humanity instead. Naturally, she wouldn’t risk provoking a war she couldn’t win.

Secondly, even if she did leak this information, who would believe her? Who would believe the words of a demon?

The Abyss was infamous for its deceptions, its endless schemes and lies. After so many betrayals, humanity had long stopped trusting the words of demons.

As Qin Xian observed the kneeling Abyssal Queen, he briefly considered whether he should enslave her. However, he ultimately dismissed the idea.

The Abyssal Queen’s level was far too high. His Ancient God’s Pestilence, an ability inherited from his bloodline, could only enslave weakened deities—it was far from strong enough to subjugate an entity of her level.

A thought stirred within Qin Xian.

He needed to return to the Void. His mother, the Void Empress, possessed Ancient God’s Pestle in its perfect form—capable of enslaving even deities in their prime.

There was still so much he needed to learn.

Meanwhile, Mortana subtly adjusted her posture, bowing with deliberate elegance, her movements accentuating her alluring figure. A faint, almost imperceptible charm filled the air.

For chaotic beings, the bloodline of a Void Overlord was supreme. If she could gain his favor…Perhaps she could bear his offspring.
