Chapter 1974 Chapter 1966: Defeat
[Grade]: Dao.
[Creation Value]: 41,909,909.
Hands were worn. Minds were strained. Cultivation bases were exhausted. Souls were stretched taut by anxiety. The atmospheric mood grew increasingly dour as dawning realization struck with each passing day, hour, and minute.
"We...we created our first Mystic-Earth grade talisman! But..." A pale, white faced middle-aged woman of short stature spoke in a mixed daze of shock and disbelief. They had entered a newly created Globe of Creation designed for the purpose of the skirmish, yet when her team of twelve elite Starlords was working in tandem, driven by inspired desire to overcome the odds, succeeding in completing their talisman through group inscribing techniques, the skirmish was answered.
In under twelve seconds, they had lost. Their united Globe of Creation, tasked with damaging or reducing the Creation Value of their enemy's Globe of Creation, was destroyed. The feedback given was that the Alchemist facing them had submitted a legitimate peak-perfection Mystic-Earth grade product.
Twelve seconds...
In. Twelve. Seconds.
She was unable to reconcile reality. This was absolutely impossible. Whoever this person was, they had to be cheating somehow. However, temporal acceleration zones were prohibited within the Battlefields; only in safe zones located elsewhere, often used for cultivation or recovery, could they be deployed. However, in the Stellar Battlefield, temporally accelerated zones were rather rare. After all, those in this level of the battlefield lacked true Awakened Mystic Intent.
This experience she felt was often felt by countless others. Some recounted less than a second. Others described it as a blink of an eye. They had lost the skirmish with an effort comparable to an Earthly Saint slaying a Qi Condensation Realm cultivator-utterly effortless, no different than breathing the freshest of air. When the light of the insurmountable Globe of Creation entered her eyes, she felt them grow wet.
Her next words were scratchy, deep, and quiveringly said: "Monster..."
Meanwhile, the person in question, the insurmountable monster that defied comprehension, the young emperor who decided to take the path of a paragon as a mere mortal in the face of Hell, Heaven, and Unseen Divinities, lay comfortably on his bed with an exhausted sleeping beauty resting on his chest. He was staring at the ceiling in thought.
Within his Sea of Consciousness, Magus and Eden were arguing. The Palatial Library and Ancient Tree shook angrily, seemingly ready to go to blows within his Sea of Consciousness.
"Why can't we use talismans and methods, huh?! Why do we have to rely solely on alchemy? You think I can't cut it?!" Magus was fuming.
"Hmph. Your calculations are too slow," Eden blandly stated.
"Oooh! Too slow! Too slow!" Ori instigated from the side.
"Utter bull! Without Bai Xiu and her sister, your speed is no less than mine."
"Need external? Need external!" Ori gasped.
"That's right!" Magus rode the instigated wave, "I can create formations, arrays, methods, arts, and spells with lightning speed! I improve them with even greater speed! More importantly, I'm not limited to just alchemy. I can craft talismans too! You? You only have alchemy."
"Limited? Oooooh! Too limited!" Ori was just about to say more when a saber howl silenced it.
"Only alchemy?" Eden's bland tone grew irritated. "The Dao of Alchemy is limitless. There is no limit!"
"..." Wei Wuyin silently watched as they fought over their respective paths. Magus was a pursuer of knowledge- new and existing, an exemplary manifestation of the Magi's origin. During the beginning of Creation, the primordial entities numbering 3,000 were all about understanding all things, establishing formless connections between the known and the unknown. The Magi, however, seemed to love exploring that unknown and transforming it into the known.
Amusingly enough, the Magi referred to things yet to be understood as Magic.
Meanwhile, Eden was an Alchemic Spirit of Cultivation in pursuant of the limitless qualities of creation by relying on the existing to generate the new. They were both Creationist paths, but they had some divergence, albeit very minor. And the argument thus far was created by Magus desiring to rely on its accumulated knowledge of formations, arrays, methods, spells, and arts to generate Creation Value.
However, that required extensive calculation. Meanwhile, Eden's domain, the Dao of Alchemy, was easily performed and achieved despite encountering new products. The Battlefield of Order only accepted specific products that they listed. The Concoction Methods were not only supplied, but so were the materials.
An Alchemist can rely on whatever methods they want to concoct, but the materials provided must be the only ones used. There was also the attempt to generate a new product in the domain of war, and the excessive Creation Value during the Declaration Phase was due to Wei Wuyin's success on that front.
Eden and Magus had worked in unison to create the Neo-Dawn Battle-Ignis Pellet, an ingestible pellet that can stimulate one's blood essence, excavate one's potential, and ignite it, thereby empowering them with trace quantities of Battle Energy and Fire Energy. The pellet would boost a person's physical strength by severalfold. In the Battlefield, this was a miraculous product.
He had earned 3,000,000 Creation Value for it despite only existing as an eighth-grade Mortal-Rank product. It could be taken by any cultivator with sufficient bodily strength, to the point that even Qi Condensation Realm cultivators can consume it, and fight on par with the Astral Core Realm as a pseudo-Martial Cultivator. The application was wondrously defiant.
The duo of creation designed it as an Infinite Variation product, so Fire Energy could be replaced with any other type during the concoction process. The greater the synergy, the stronger the increase. When tested through the system, a Ninth Stage Qi Condensation Realm expert could fight against a Soul Idol Phase Astral Core Realm expert!
This was an unbelievable achievement that defied so, so many things. Moreover, while potential was excavated and ignited, this wasn't lifespan or soulspan or permanent, so with sufficient time, rest, and cultivation, recovery of said potential wasn't out of the question.
Wei Wuyin realized that his will to defy expectations had permeated the paths of Eden and Magus. They concocted something that was utterly insane. As for the rest of his products, he mostly relied on peak-perfection Mortal-Rank products, sometimes using Mystic-Earth grade. The true kicker was the transcendent Mortal-Rank product that he created, which heavily contributed to his insane lead.
"Transcendent's value is excessive..." Wei Wuyin recalled his first attempt at creating the Mortal-Rank, ninth-grade Battle Illumination Pill, the lesser variant of the Mystic-Earth grade War Illumination Pill, and decided to create a transcendent version. When he finished and submitted the pill, the value given was ONE THOUSAND AND TWO HUNDRED!
That was four times greater than the low-tier Mystic-World grade Seeking-Spirit Blood Elixir.
Four! Times!
The majority of his initial points were just Mortal-Rank transcendent products. Moreover, he was shaken by the process of the Battlefield. He had assumed that, since they provided the materials, the Battlefield would keep the products after an assessment of their value. But no, the Battlefield allowed them to keep the vast majority of products.
The only thing they took was from the sporadic trials. The wars, challenges issued between Soldiers of Order, essentially everything else stayed with its creator. There was a reason why countless stayed or desired to stay here for years upon years. He finally understood why the Battlefield of Order was wildly populated by elites, and even communication systems were set in place that were evidence of an organized structure.
They were taking advantage of the free materials. Unfortunately, the materials given were only useful for the listed products, tools, talismans, and the such related to the Dao of War. Wei Wuyin realized that every material was essentially generated with the Essence of War offered in the Battlefield of War. They were simply transformed. This transformation was similar to his Eye of Creation's process of elevating or changing the fundamental grade of materials.
After all, he could turn ordinary materials into faux-soul Immortal-Rank materials with sufficient spiritual effort. The transformation of Essence of War into metals, paper, and elemental material was nothing special comparatively.
"Fine!" Magus exclaimed angrily, but a hint of satisfaction in its voice.
"Fine?" Wei Wuyin awoke from his thoughts. He was keenly aware that Magus and Eden were close; the only closer relationship was with Ori, but Ori was by far the most loved and cared for. Despite being the oldest of everyone-creation-wiseโit was the most innocent and charming. And talkative... "Good," Eden responded with a sigh of relief. Arguing was far too tiring. It was not within its wheelhouse of skills. The scheming was better left for the sinister, like Wei Wuyin. In a way, Magus was included in that category now.
A faint saber howl heralded King's arrival. It clarified, "They've decided that the Ascendant Battlefield will be handled by Magus."
"Huh," Wei Wuyin didn't comment on that decision. He didn't care either way. Regardless of which, he would have to put forward his best efforts. More importantly, it was true that Eden didn't have Bai Xiu and her sister at full strength. They were digesting Utmost Purity Liquid. It seemed they were on the verge of growth.
Vuuff!
Wei Wuyin heard a strange sound and flicked his fingers. An Identity Rune appeared within. Reading the message, he didn't know whether to laugh or celebrate.
"They've...surrendered?"
The message was from all 2,999 zones! Before the third phase could begin, they had issued a notice of surrender!
All of them!
"That was faster than I expected," Wei Wuyin chuckled.
"Perfect! Are we still going to do it?" Magus asked eagerly.
"Can you handle it?" Wei Wuyin rose a little, gently placing Tilly to the side.
"Handle it? I was BORN for this!" Magus excitedly declared. Wei Wuyin could only smile. He hoped that was true.
"Let's go and claim our spoils of war then," Wei Wuyin got dressed and readied to create another stir.
