Chapter 123: A Taste Of Something Sweet

Chapter 123: A Taste Of Something Sweet

The morning light filters slowly through the sheer white curtains, painting pale silver strips across the dark wooden floor of the master bedroom.

Adrien stirs first. His eyelids feel heavy, stuck together by deep, dreamless exhaustion. For a long second, his mind is blank. He breathes in the cool air of the room, feeling the soft weight of the duvet wrapped around his torso.

The faint, rich scent of expensive dark wood, cedar, and Orion’s familiar musk fills the large space around him. The room is still, almost completely isolated from the rest of the massive mansion, carrying an eerie quiet that makes every tiny sound feel amplified.

Then, a sudden wave of sharp, dull aches ripples through his body, and every single memory from the previous night comes rushing back into his head like a cold bucket of water.

He freezes under the blanket.

Slowly, very slowly, Adrien slides his eyes sideways.

Orion is lying right beside him. The large, dangerous lunatic of the Vassilis family is fast asleep, resting on his side with one heavy, muscular arm wrapped loosely over Adrien’s waist.

His dark hair is messy, falling over his forehead in damp strands, and his usually cold, unreadable face looks strangely peaceful in the soft morning light.

He looks human like this.

He looks almost harmless, stripped of that terrifying aura that usually surrounds him whenever he walks into a room.

Adrien knows better. He knows the madman lurking right beneath that calm skin.

He lies there in the quiet room, staring up at the high ceiling, feeling the warm rise and fall of Orion’s chest against his side. His body feels completely wrecked.

His hips are stiff, his thigh muscles tremble slightly if he tries to shift them, and the lingering, heavy feeling of Orion deep inside him from last night makes his face flush with sudden, unwanted heat.

His bruised skin from the car crash feels slightly sensitive, but the sharp pain has dulled into a warm, heavy soreness that spreads all through his lower back.

He turns his head, looking past Orion’s dark hair toward the fireplace wall.

The full-body portrait of him hangs up there, framed in dark wood, catching the pale morning light. Seeing himself like that, painted with so much care and precise detail, makes a quiet shiver run down his spine.

The painting captures his likeness so accurately that it feels unsettling. It proves that even when Adrien was running away, hiding in dark alleys and selling himself just to eat, Orion was somewhere in his estate, carefully painting his face from memory.

Adrien lets out a very faint, tired breath through his nose.

How did his life turn into this? He sat on a garden bench for twenty minutes, trying to clear his head, and now he is tangled in bed with the lunatic who chased him across the country for seven long years.

It makes zero sense. It defies all logic. Yet here he is, lying in the dark sheets of Orion’s bed, feeling more physically secure than he has in nearly a decade.

He moves slightly, trying to lift Orion’s heavy forearm off his waist so he can slide out of bed. He moves as quietly as possible, easing his hips back, inch by inch, attempting to untangle himself without waking the giant beside him.

The second his skin moves away from Orion, the large hand on his waist tightens.

Before Adrien can even react, Orion’s dark eyes snap open. There is zero sleep in them. He goes from completely unconscious to fully alert in the span of a single second.

His grip on Adrien’s waist pulls him back, dragging Adrien’s back flat against his broad, warm chest.

"Where are you going, duckling?" Orion mutters. His voice is deep, rough with sleep, vibrating right against Adrien’s back.

Adrien stops moving, sighing as he settles back against the warm chest behind him. "I was trying to get up. My body hurts...fucker."

Orion rests his chin on Adrien’s shoulder, burying his face into the soft curve of his neck. He breathes in deeply, taking in the natural scent of Adrien’s skin mixed with the residual marks of their night together.

"It shouldn’t hurt," Orion says smoothly, his voice low and steady. "I was gentle with you."

Adrien snorts, a small, sarcastic sound that echoes softly in the quiet room. "You fucked me three times and made me come until my legs stopped working. Gentle is not the word I would use."

Orion hums softly against his neck, a low vibration that makes Adrien’s skin tingle. "You liked it. You cried, but you liked it."

Adrien turns his head as much as his angle allows, giving Orion a sharp, flat glare. "I was crying because I realized I made a terrible decision out in that garden. I was drunk on moonlight."

"You were not drunk," Orion says, his voice dropping into a quiet, unwavering frequency. "You were just honest for once in your life."

Orion’s large hand begins to slide down from Adrien’s waist. His long fingers move slowly over the smooth skin of Adrien’s stomach, tracing the subtle curve of his hip bone before dipping lower toward his thighs.

Adrien stiffens again, his hands coming up to grip Orion’s wrist. "Orion, stop. I’m being serious. I’m so fucking sore."

Orion doesn’t stop, but he doesn’t force his hand lower either. He keeps his palm resting flat against Adrien’s warm lower belly, his thumb rubbing small, soothing circles into the sensitive skin.

"Let me take care of it then," Orion whispers close to his ear.

He shifts his heavy body, rolling onto his back and dragging Adrien smoothly with him until Adrien is sitting right on top of his lap.

Adrien gasps at the sudden movement, his hands flying out to brace against Orion’s broad, bare chest. The sudden shift causes an ache in his inner thighs, and he winces, his brows pulling down into a sharp, defensive scowl.

Orion looks up at him from the dark pillows. His dark, pupilless eyes are clear, watching every tiny flicker of annoyance and pain on Adrien’s face.

He reaches up, his large hands resting gently on Adrien’s outer thighs, supporting his weight so Adrien doesn’t have to strain his sore muscles.

"Look at you," Orion murmurs, a small, dark smile touching the corners of his lips. "You look so red."

"Because you are irritating," Adrien snaps, though his voice lacks any real bite. He is too tired to construct a proper defense, and the warm, steady touch of Orion’s hands on his legs feels far too comfortable. "Put me down. I want to wash up."

"We will bathe together," Orion says softly. "After I’m done."

"After you’re done doing what?" Adrien asks, narrowing his eyes in suspicion.

Instead of answering with words, Orion presses his hands into the backs of Adrien’s thighs, guiding him slightly forward over his lap.

Adrien feels the thick heat pressing against the seam of his bottom. Orion is already hard, thick and heavy beneath him, resting right against his sensitive entrance.

Adrien’s breath catches in his throat. His chest heaves slightly as he looks down into Orion’s calm, resolute face.

"You are a relentless bastard," Adrien whispers, shaking his head in disbelief. "You are actual scum."

"You like scum," Orion answers effortlessly, his tone casual and completely unbothered by the insult. "You followed this scum around for three years in school just to watch me."

Adrien lets out a loud groan, dropping his forehead down onto Orion’s shoulder. "I told you, I was trying to ruin your life!"

"And now you are sitting on my lap in my bed," Orion says, his chest rumbling with a quiet laugh that vibrates against Adrien’s face. "You failed miserably, duckling."

Adrien bites Orion’s shoulder through his skin, not hard enough to draw blood, but hard enough to leave a deep red mark. Orion doesn’t even flinch. He just lets out a quiet, dark hum of approval, his hands tightening slightly on Adrien’s legs.

"Are you going to let me inside, or are you going to keep biting me like an angry little pet?" Orion asks gently.

Adrien lifts his head from Orion’s shoulder, looking down at him with a complex mix of exhaustion, irritation, and something far softer that he refuses to give a name to.

The terror that used to choke him whenever Orion came close is completely absent this morning. The heavy fog of fear that dominated the last seven years of his life feels thin, replaced by a strange, quiet ease that makes no sense at all.

He is sitting on top of the most dangerous man he’s ever met, excluding Yaya and Niko, talking to him like an old acquaintance, and his heart isn’t even racing from panic.

It’s racing because of the heavy, warm pressure growing between his legs.

"If you go too fast, I will punch you in the face," Adrien says, his tone completely deadpan.

Orion smiles. It is a soft, surprisingly handsome expression that reaches his dark eyes. "I will be as slow as you want."

Orion reaches over to the bedside table, picking up the small bottle of lube from the night before. He pops the top open with his thumb, slicking his long fingers thoroughly before reaching down between Adrien’s thighs.

Adrien closes his eyes, letting out a long breath as Orion’s cool, slick fingers touch his warm entrance.
