Overlord: The Multiverse

A loud squawk rang out overhead. I looked up to see a News Coo flying past, a rolled-up newspaper clutched in its talons.

"Perfect," I smirked.

I raised my hand and fired a weak magical tether. It wasn’t even strong magic—but enough to snag the paper.

The News Coo squawked as it landed, dropping the rolled-up newspaper into my hand. I tossed the curious bird a YGGDRASIL coin—pure gold, stamped with ancient runes. The Coo blinked, weighed it in its beak, and without complaint, flapped its wings and flew off into the sky.

"Good bird," I muttered.

Death had warned me this world might get messy, so I made sure to bring around a thousand YGGDRASIL coins with me. This world used *Berries* as currency, but gold was still gold. It would buy me time until I figured out the proper economic flow.

I unrolled the newspaper and skimmed the front page.

**"Pirate Hunter Zoro Captured! Held in Marine Base!"**

My brow furrowed.

So I’ve already entered the East Blue timeline. That meant I was near the start of Luffy’s journey. According to canon, this was around the point where Zoro was tied up in Shells Town for saving a little girl. It wouldn’t be long before Monkey D. Luffy showed up to cause his usual storm.

"Alright, let’s go to Shells Town," I said as I started walking.

"When fuck do I need to go?" I screamed.

I am currently flying in the sky. Around me is Sea. I didn’t even know how to get back to the island, I was stageled.

"Oh, I can’t find a single soul. I swear if I still had [Blessing of Tiania], I’d already be there sipping tea."

Even as I cursed my sealed power, my eyes scanned below—and I spotted something.

A boat.

A small, barely-seaworthy dinghy bobbing along in the waves, like a speck of hope in an otherwise hopeless situation.

Without hesitation, I adjusted my trajectory and dove straight for it.

The moment I got close, I heard voices—one high-pitched and nervous, the other loud and carefree.

"I’m telling you, Luffy, if we don’t turn the rudder properly, we’ll drift again!"

"Relax, Koby! We’re totally gonna make it to Shells Town!"

Luffy?

Before I could finish the thought, I landed.

Not gracefully.

With a thunderous splash and a hard thud, I crashed onto the tiny boat, making the entire vessel rock violently.

The smaller boy—a pink-haired kid I immediately recognized as Koby—screamed and nearly jumped overboard. The straw-hatted one stared at me with wide, curious eyes.

"Whoa! A flying man!" Luffy shouted, pointing at me with excitement.

I coughed and sat up slowly, my cloak soaked and my pride dented. "...No."

"You looked like a flying guy! You came down like a boom! from the sky!" Luffy laughed, entirely unbothered.

Koby, on the other hand, looked pale and confused. "W-who are you? Where did you come from?"

"From the sky, apparently," I muttered, wringing out my sleeve. "Name’s Alex."

Luffy leaned forward, eyes sparkling. "Cool! I’m Monkey D. Luffy! And this is Koby! We’re heading to Shells Town!"

I raised a brow. "That so? Small world. I’m headed there too."

"Then you can join us!" Luffy said cheerfully, as if inviting strangers who crash-land onto his boat was a daily occurrence.

Koby whispered, "A-are you a pirate too?"

"Not exactly," I replied, sitting on the edge of the boat. "Let’s just say I travel a lot. And right now, I’m on vacation... sort of."

Luffy grinned. "Vacation guy! Cool!"

I blinked. "That’s... not my name."

"Still cool."

He didn’t seem to care.

I looked around the boat. It was barely big enough for three, but it was surprisingly stable now that I wasn’t causing a shockwave. The sails were flimsy, and the oars looked worn. But somehow, they were making it work.

"How far are we from Shells Town?" I asked.

Koby looked at a hand-drawn map and adjusted his glasses. "Um, maybe an hour or two if the wind holds. Luffy wants to find a swordsman named Zoro."
