Chapter 462: Farewell, My Comrades
Chapter 462: Chapter 462: Farewell, My Comrades
A sharp blade flashed through the air.
Everything around was relentlessly shredded by the sword intent radiating outward.
The earth was carved into massive ravines, and even Ju Peter, standing not far away, had one of its arms severed.
And this was just the stray sword aura.
At that moment.
Vir swung his long blade.
In an instant, time itself seemed to freeze.
In everyone’s eyes, there was only a single, pitch-black slash.
Imu was by no means weak, yet before this strike, everything seemed pale and powerless.
Darkness enveloped the world.
The slash seemed to snuff out even the light itself.
The onlookers saw nothing but an endless void before their eyes.
And so.
Time passed, how long, no one knew.
Gradually.
The darkness began to fade.
Their eyes finally beheld the aftermath of that single strike.
With just one glance, their eyes widened in shock.
The sea…
It had parted!
Yes.
The first thing they saw was the ocean, split open to reveal the seafloor below.
As far as the eye could see, the sea was divided, exposing a terrifying slash mark etched into the ocean floor.
Everyone was stunned, the setting sun casting an orange glow across their faces.
No one had ever imagined they would witness such a moment in their lifetime, a moment so awe-inspiring.
A single slash had parted the sea.
What kind of monstrous power was this?
Even the Red Line had been cleaved, a gaping wound torn through its mass.
The waters of the two seas began to mingle through the breach.
And there, at the edge of the cliff above that chasm.
Vir stood tall.
At his feet lay the upper half of Imu’s body.
Yes.
Under that single strike, Imu had been cleaved in two.
Her life force was rapidly fading.
Within moments, she could no longer make a sound.
A ruler of an era.
Fallen.
Vir let out a long, heavy breath.
His entire body finally relaxed.
Gazing at the setting sun, a faint smile spread across Vir’s face.
It was over.
Everything…
Was over.
…
…
…
…
With Imu’s death, the Five Elders, whose lives were tied to hers, knew their time was short. Without hesitation, they launched an attack on Vir.
But it was all in vain.
Vir, still gazing at the sunset, merely willed it, and a ripple of lightning obliterated them all.
The crowd celebrated their victory.
Vir also treated all of the wounded.
Of course, the process wasn’t exactly pleasant.
Many who received his treatment for the first time shed tears… of joy.
In the aftermath, the World Government crumbled.
The people rallied around Vir, urging him to take the throne.
But he refused. That had never been his goal.
Rather than ruling, he preferred the life of a free wanderer, exploring the world at his leisure.
Who ultimately took the throne, Vir didn’t know.
But as long as he was around, no one would dare stir trouble.
He was the sword hanging over the head of any ruler, a constant reminder to stay on the right path.
The world never learned who had toppled the World Government, and Vir didn’t bother to proclaim it.
Luffy and the others didn’t return to their respective mentors. From that point on, Vir took it upon himself to train them.
In just six months, they surpassed the progress they’d made in two years in the original tale.
And so, they set sail once more.
Bound for the New World, ready to conquer it.
Their dreams were still unfulfilled, and they refused to let Vir’s overwhelming strength carry them to victory. They wanted to achieve their dreams on their own.
So, by unanimous vote, Vir was “kicked” off the ship.
The only one who stayed with him was Chopper.
Chopper had learned from Vir how to create a panacea capable of curing any ailment.
For Vir, with the system’s help, this was no difficult task.
From then on, Chopper served as his “steed”.
They first took Shirahoshi to find Uta.
The two became fast friends, and Uta’s singing shattered Shirahoshi’s timidity.
It gave her boundless courage.
Hearing that Vir planned to wander the world, Uta excitedly declared she wanted to join him.
She wanted the entire world to hear her songs.
Vir didn’t mind.
And so, the group set off together.
By some twist of fate, the first island they stumbled upon was Punk Hazard.
As luck would have it, Luffy and the crew had just arrived there as well.
And there, they encountered someone else.
Momonosuke.
At first, Vir had no intention of getting involved. But when he saw the little brat open his arms to Robin, demanding a hug with a sleazy grin on his face, Vir’s own smile widened.
Well, then.
No mistake about it.
Time to take him out!
He started by slicing off the kid’s little “worm” entirely.
A justified reason: to prevent lust from clouding the mind and promote good health.
Then, with a single gender-bending needle, he turned the little punk into a little lass.
That day, he—no, *she*—cried her eyes out.
Uta and Luffy were chatting up a storm, having a blast.
But soon, the crew split up once again.
Luffy and his gang continued their voyage, while Vir took Uta, Chopper, and Shirahoshi to keep exploring the world.
Along the way, Hancock joined them, handling all of Vir’s daily needs like a pro.
On their journey, Vir’s group witnessed plenty of darkness, but Vir wasn’t so arrogant as to think he could fix it all.
Darkness can’t be eradicated completely—he just dealt with what he saw in front of him.
Still, there were some things he could control.
Like, say, helping the residents of Fish-Man Island return to life on land.
What?
You say they’d be snatched up like crazy?
On the surface territory of Fish-Man Island, four flags were planted.
Whitebeard, Golden Lion, Kaido, and Shanks—one for each.
Who’d dare mess with that lineup?
Big Mom was dead.
Killed by Vir.
Shiki took her place, becoming one of the new Four Emperors.
But out of those old-timers, only Kaido was still gunning to be the Pirate King.
He and Luffy still had to clash one day.
Just like that, a year flew by.
That day, Vir and his crew were lounging on a small island, soaking up the sun. Out in the nearby sea, a whale surfaced, happily chatting with Chopper.
“Three days ago, we got the news. Why aren’t they here yet?”
“Relax,” Vir said lazily, munching on grapes Hancock fed him.
Uta, hearing this, glanced toward Reverse Mountain again, her face lighting up with joy.
“They’re here! They’re here!” she shouted.
Her yell drew everyone’s attention. Chopper and Laboon were the most excited.
Chopper leapt onto Laboon’s head.
The two brothers zoomed toward the base of Reverse Mountain.
And there, at the peak of Reverse Mountain, a painfully familiar ship was speeding down!
At the bow, a guy in a straw hat was shouting loud enough to be heard from miles away.
Vir shook his head, chuckling. “Becomes the Pirate King, and his voice gets even louder.”
“Laboon!”
“En~en~~en!”
The moment Brook spotted Laboon, tears were practically bursting from his eye sockets.
In that moment, he finally fulfilled his promise, giving the big guy—who’d waited for them for over fifty years—a home to return to.
That’s right. Luffy had become the Pirate King.
Kaido-sensei had been defeated by Luffy again.
Though Kaido had received enhancements from Vir, so had Luffy.
Now, Luffy’s Nika form was insanely strong.
The second Luffy stepped off the ship, he challenged Vir to a spar, acting like a kid eager to show off his achievements to a parent.
Vir agreed without hesitation.
Because if he didn’t, Luffy would pester him to death.
Vir drew his Vibro-Blade, while Luffy grinned, brimming with confidence.
“Gear 5!”
As Luffy’s words rang out, his hair and clothes turned stark white.
The surrounding environment started bouncing with elasticity.
Vir, unfazed, silently wrapped his Conqueror’s Haki around his blade.
As the Haki coiled, Luffy’s smug grin faded, his expression turning deadly serious.
Moments later, he slowly dropped out of Gear 5.
For one simple reason.
He didn’t want to die.
He knew clearly: if Vir swung his blade, he couldn’t dodge, nor could he endure it.
It had been a year and a half. Vir hadn’t been idle either.
The strength of Conqueror’s Haki depended on one’s spirit.
And his spiritual power could grow without limit, slowly but surely.
A normal person’s spiritual power didn’t even reach ten.
Red-Hair had just barely above ten.
But Vir’s spiritual power now was—118.
Not long after, Vir held a wedding with Robin, Hancock, and Shirahoshi.
Everything fell into place naturally.
Life afterward was just as fulfilling.
And so, the story concludes here.
The end!

Author’s Note:
Thank you all for sticking with us on this journey. Vir’s story ends here. You’ve witnessed it all, but you’ve also created it all.
Without you, Vir wouldn’t have made it this far.
He might’ve crashed and burned on some random island long ago.
Once again, from the bottom of my heart—thank you!

TL Note:
Well, time sure flies, huh?
It’s already been seven months.
…Sigh.
You know, the end of a book always brings with it this bittersweet feeling.
People usually say, “The end is a new beginning!” or something like that.
But for me, it’s actually pretty sweet. Now I can just laze around and do nothing! Yay!
And oh, yeah… thank you! UwU
