One Piece: Don't Worry, I'm a Doctor

Chapter 451: Kaido’s Misfortune

Chapter 451: Chapter 451: Kaido’s Misfortune

After Imu sat down, a figure slowly drifted into the room.

He stopped quietly behind Imu.

Among those present, only a few recognized him. Luffy and Chopper felt a vague sense of familiarity, as if they’d seen him somewhere before.

His arrival didn’t stir much reaction. Vir simply stood casually behind Imu.

For now, he couldn’t act.

He had just gained power far beyond his control. If he didn’t take time to adapt, he truly wouldn’t be able to bring out much of its strength.

His priority was to quickly master this surging strength, or he might not stand a chance against Imu.

She had too many trump cards. Playing it safe was the smarter move.

At that moment, Saint Saturn arrived, fashionably late.

He’d just taken a call from Shanks, who asked if Chiba had been dealt with.

Saturn sighed, rubbing his forehead. Dealt with? That guy’s status was higher than his own now. Who was dealing with whom?

When he explained the situation to Shanks, the red-haired pirate was dumbfounded.

Shanks even started questioning the intelligence of Imu and the World Government. That guy was clearly up to no good!

Why hadn’t they taken him out? Instead, they’d taken him in as an ally?

Saturn shot back at Shanks’ question.

“Someone personally verified by Imu-sama—how could there be any problem? Watch your mouth, kid!”

With that, Saturn hung up.

Leaving a stunned Shanks on the other end.

Right… how could he forget? Imu surely would’ve checked personally. But then… why hadn’t anything been uncovered?

Was it possible he was clean? Or maybe, he wasn’t Vir at all?

The idea that Vir could evade Imu’s scrutiny didn’t even cross Shanks’ mind.

He knew a bit about Vir’s strength—after all, they’d crossed paths during the Summit War.

With that level of power, hiding from Imu was a pipe dream.

Could it be… he’d gotten it wrong?

Shanks frowned, gazing ahead at the faintly visible Red Line in the distance.

Inside the grand hall.

Imu sat regally upon the throne.

As she took the seat, the highest-ranking elders of the Government all dropped to their knees, faces grave.

Though their expressions were solemn, their minds occasionally flickered back to the scene they’d just witnessed.

Whenever they glanced at Imu’s face, those thoughts grew even more frequent.

“Rise.” Imu commanded.

A voice heavy with authority echoed, accompanied by a chilling gust that swept through the room.

It felt as though they’d been plunged into a frozen wasteland.

Those indulging in stray thoughts immediately cast them aside—linger too long, and they’d be dead.

Standing upright, they kept their heads bowed, faces serious, not daring to show the slightest negligence.

Imu’s gaze swept over them, a trace of disappointment flashing in her eyes.

Her Observation Haki scanned the group, but she found no trace of a Vivre Card. If there had been one, things would’ve been much simpler.

If there truly was none, she’d have no choice but to use these people to lure Vir out.

“This Vir—has he ever made a Vivre Card?” Imu’s voice rang out, dripping with superiority.

Below, the only sound was the drip-drip of Sanji’s blood hitting the floor. No one else made a peep.

No one answered her.

But Imu wasn’t fazed. She’d anticipated this.

With a casual wave, she produced a vibrant red orb. Another gesture, and Robin was yanked forward.

Brought close, Robin, shackled in Seastone cuffs, was utterly powerless, without the strength to resist.

Yet even as Imu placed the red orb above her head, Robin remained strikingly calm.

The orb floated above her, emitting a faint glow.

“What are you doing to Robin-chan?! Picking on a woman—what’s the point? Take me! I know the most!” Sanji shouted.

“Tch! What does a cook know? I’m the closest to Vir—use that thing on me, it’s the better deal!” Zoro snapped.

“Damn woman, let Robin go!” Luffy’s weak voice joined in, barely audible through the Seastone’s grip.

But Imu only responded with a calm, “No need to rush. You’ll all get your turn.”

Behind her, Vir watched silently. He sensed no danger from the red orb.

It was likely something to probe memories or force the truth out of someone.

Sure enough, as the red light enveloped Robin, a shadow crept into her eyes, and she grew visibly more dazed.

Seeing this, a faint smile curled on Imu’s lips.

“Where is this Vir?” Imu asked directly.

At her words, Robin, eyes slightly vacant, spoke as if mechanized.

“I… don’t know.”

Despite her dazed state, a flicker of struggle seemed to pass through her eyes as she spoke.

Imu frowned but didn’t dwell on it.

“Has he ever made a Vivre Card?”

“Yes.”

A spark of delight flashed in Imu’s eyes.

“Who has his Vivre Card?”

“Don’t know.”

Imu’s expression darkened. With a wave, she sent Robin back to her place, and the next in line stepped up.

Robin, back in her spot, quickly regained her composure.

But her gaze, subtle and fleeting, fell on Vir standing behind Imu.

Truth be told, Vir had been startled. He’d braced himself for a fight, but Robin had said she didn’t know.

Now he was starting to question the orb in Imu’s hands.

Was that thing really a truth-telling device?

Robin knew about his disguise. Vir didn’t know how, but she had that uncanny ability.

Yet she’d said she didn’t know. Was the orb’s effect different from what he’d assumed?

But as the others were tested one by one, Vir started to believe it.

No matter how tricky Imu’s questions were, everyone answered truthfully. Zoro even admitted to getting lost and stepping in a pile of crap in a ditch.

Sanji spilled his guts too, confessing that during his teenage years, he’d tried sneaking into the women’s bathhouse every day—only to fail every time and get beaten for it.

After that, the way Zoro and Sanji looked at each other changed.

Their eyes practically screamed, *”You hid that well!”*

Now Vir was truly confused. Robin was… impossible to figure out.

Imu’s questioning wasn’t entirely fruitless, though.

The one who provided results was none other than Luffy.

Luffy revealed where the Vivre Card he once had ended up.

He mentioned that Hancock had torn off a small piece from the Vivre Card that got fried by lightning.

This news sparked a flicker of delight in Imu’s heart.

“Has that woman not arrived yet?”

Imu glanced down at the Five Elders, who were unusually compliant, and asked.

At her words, Saturn hurriedly responded, “The Holy Knights of God have gone to escort her. They’re transporting her by ship, and they should be arriving soon.”

“Find out exactly where they are.”

“Yes, ma’am!”

Saint Saturn acknowledged and reached for his Den Den Mushi to check in, but before he could dial, the snail phone rang on its own.

When he picked it up, a gruff male voice shouted at breakneck speed.

“We need backup! We just reached the Red Line, but we’re ambushed by the Yonko, Whitebeard! They’re trying to rescue her! Requesting support!”

*”Bloop! Click!”*

With that final sound, the call cut off, and the Den Den Mushi’s head slumped lifelessly.

At the same moment, a distinct tremor rippled through the ground beneath them.

Everyone present snapped to attention.

Though they privately marveled at Whitebeard’s audacity, they didn’t act on their own. Instead, their gazes shifted to Imu, whose expression had darkened.

At that moment, Imu radiated a palpable aura of danger, wisps of black mist beginning to swirl around her.

Her eyes, once calm, now gleamed with a sharp edge.

“These little pests have grown old and still cause me trouble. Fine, then…”

“Bring her back. As for Whitebeard, capture him too. Isn’t he chummy with that guy? Let’s add another bargaining chip.”

“Yes, Imu-sama!”

With that command, everyone vanished in a blur of afterimages.

Imu remained calm, her face brimming with disdain for Whitebeard, as if he were nothing more than garbage on the side of the road.

The grand hall gradually emptied, falling into an eerie silence.

Imu leaned back on her throne, closing her eyes to rest, but in truth, she was using her overwhelming Observation Haki to survey the area within ten kilometers.

She knew Whitebeard and Kaido were on that ship. Her subordinates alone might not be able to handle them quickly.

But Red-Haired Shanks was there too.

With him in the mix, Whitebeard and his crew wouldn’t last long.

To think these pirates dared to raid her holy land, Mary Geoise, to rescue someone. They’d grown far too bold, completely losing sight of their place.

Just as Imu relaxed, anticipating Whitebeard and the others being dragged before her, her Observation Haki picked up several powerful presences.

Her calm expression faded, and her brow slowly furrowed.

These weren’t just one or two auras—there were multiple, and they were strong.

For Imu to consider them formidable, their strength had to be close to Yonko level.

Anything less wouldn’t even register in her eyes.

If it were just Kaido and Whitebeard, the Five Elders could handle it. But now… Imu realized she might have to get involved herself.

It seemed her long absence had made the world forget her terror. And now, they dared to challenge her on her own turf.

With a single thought, Imu sent everyone in the room floating into the air, including Vir.

Under her control, they sped toward the battlefield.

On the colossal Red Line that spanned the world…

The crimson soil glowed with an almost sinister hue.

Upon one stretch of that vast land, fierce combat raged.

The towering Whitebeard, draped in his massive captain’s coat, swung his arms with earth-shaking force, the coat billowing with each devastating strike.

In front of him, Saturn and the bald swordsman struggled to hold their ground.

Every blow from Whitebeard sent tremors through their bodies, impossible to fully block.

Elsewhere, Kaido, bare-chested and clad in a beast-hide coat, wielded his massive kanabo, crackling with blinding lightning.

He barely held off the swarm of enemies before him.

That’s right.

Aside from the two fighting Whitebeard, everyone else was piling on Kaido.

Kaido, who’d planned to unleash his full might, was now utterly frustrated.

“Damn it all! Are you all insane?! Ganging up on me like this! That old man over there’s in his sixties, and you don’t even glance his way?!”

“You bastards!”

“Thunder Bag—!”

*Slash!*

Just as Kaido was about to unleash his Thunder Bagua, a devastating Conqueror’s Haki-infused slash struck his lower back.

Caught mid-attack, his body couldn’t twist to dodge, and the strike was too fast. Kaido took the hit head-on.

Staring at the long blade protruding from his waist, Kaido’s rage boiled over.

“Damn it!”

“I’m already fighting a dozen of you, and now some cowardly dog sneaks up on me?! I’ll crush you!”

Kaido swung his club backward, but the sneak attacker was no fool. They retreated immediately after landing the blow.

Not only did Kaido’s swing miss, but the mob in front of him seized the chance to carve more terrifying wounds into his body. Blood gushed, staining the already crimson earth an even deeper shade.

They gave Kaido no time to breathe, pressing their advantage to take him down while he was vulnerable.

The sneak attacker, Red-Haired Shanks, joined forces with the others, overwhelming Kaido and forcing him to retreat step by step.

Meanwhile, the Whitebeard Pirates were held back by CP agents. It seemed no one could help Kaido now.

At this rate, he’d be defeated in half an hour at most—none of his opponents were weak.

Kaido’s anxiety spiked.

Whitebeard didn’t seem likely to take down his two opponents in half an hour either.

Those two had monstrous recovery abilities, making things even trickier.

If he’d known, he would’ve come later with his crew. Then he wouldn’t be in this mess, fighting alone.

Hancock, her wrists bound by Seastone cuffs, stood not far from the battlefield, watching anxiously.

She could see it—Whitebeard and his crew were doomed to lose.

Worst of all, she was carrying Vir’s Vivre Card.

Hancock had only realized halfway through that they’d captured her to track down Vir. If she’d known earlier, she would’ve destroyed that Vivre Card she always carried.

But with her hands bound, she couldn’t reach the card tucked at her chest.

When Whitebeard and his crew had charged in, she’d hoped they could destroy the Vivre Card for her. But now, it looked like they’d be captured themselves before long.

As Hancock’s worry deepened, a familiar voice suddenly rang out behind her.

“Haha, don’t worry, Hancock. The fun’s just getting started.”

The moment the voice spoke, a white-haired Rayleigh, dressed in white, leaped past her, charging straight at the bald swordsman.

Beside him were several other figures, each radiating overwhelming strength…
