Chapter 2731: The Future Foretold II

The God of Mischief Loki might be arrogant and look down on mortals but even he cannot exert much influence inside this sanctum. He already felt it when he entered but his strength was somewhat weakened. He still retains his godly status but not to the point that he can now overwhelm the being before him.

The God of Mischief Loki looked at the sword drawn by the Great Star Gazer. A sword made from the power of the celestial stars that carries the power of divination. A sword that can cut even a god if they are not careful hence his apprehension of charging without a plan.

The God of Mischief Loki would have already attacked the Great Star Gazer by now if she was a normal mortal. The only reason why he is thinking of what step he needs to take is due to the fact that illusions and invisibility cannot affect a seer. The Great Star Gazer might look like she is blind but she can see everything in the area around her. Even things that cannot be seen normally is visible to her as seers like her possess the Mind’s Eye

“It seems that all of that bravado is just empty, trickster.” The Great Star Gazer stated as she taunted the God of Mischief Loki.

“I wanted to bring you without much injuries but it seems that you need to be taught a lesson. Missing a few limbs will not stop you from seeing the future anyways.” The God of Mischief Loki stated as he suddenly vanished into smoke.

The Great Star Gazer then swung her sword behind her which actually parried the twin daggers that is being wielded by the God of Mischief Loki. The God of Mischief Loki did not traverse space and time but merely moved so quick while he was invisible. He thought that he could at least poison the Great Star Gazer with a strong paralytic with one scratch of his daggers but even that proved difficult.

The God of Mischief Loki did not expect that a seer would have strength that could rival that of a god. He always learned that the seers of the past were beings that could be killed but they are rarely killed. In fact, some even say that the seers themselves already know how they will die hence they only get killed when they know it is their time.

“That sword!” The God of Mischief Loki stated as he was actually sent flying back by the Great Star Gazer.

The Great Star Gazer could careless about what the God of Mischief Loki thinks as she sent energy waves created by her sword to her enemy. The God of Mischief Loki easily destroyed these sword energy waves as if they were nothing and promptly rushed towards the Great Star Gazer. The God of Mischief Loki could try using long ranged attacks but he already knew one of the artifacts being used by his opponent.

“It seems that the Norn are very fond of you. To think that they have given you a Protective Spool. A divine artifact that renders any long-ranged attacks useless.” The God of Mischief Loki stated in frustration.

The Protective Spool is a divine artifact that can only be given by the Norn or the Fates to one powerful seer at a time. It is given to the most powerful or the most favored by the Norn for their ability to foresee the future. It grants immunity to any long ranged attacks or spells but it does nothing for melee attacks which is why the God of Mischief Loki is attacking in melee range.

“Do you want to know another important fact about the Protective Spool?” The God of Mischief Loki stated as he wanted to taunt the Great Star Gazer but she spoke what it on his mind.

“Anyone given the Protective Spool will suffer a horrible death.” The Great Star Gazer stated as she proceeded to perform a slash that released stars that homed in on the God of Mischief Loki.

The God of Mischief Loki did not even bother to dodge as he easily deflected the stars that the Great Star Gazer released. He also proceeded to create clones of himself to surround the Great Star Gazer. Each of the clones are connected but can still perform independent movement. It means that each of them is more annoying than the original.

“Fatetality!” The Great Star Gazer stated as she slashed at the air but the entire area suddenly looked like it was spliced.

All of the clones of the God of Mischief Loki dissipated as they were hit by an attack that shattered fate itself. Even the God of Mischief Loki that thought that he will not be injured suddenly found himself with a cut on his left arm. The God of Mischief Loki could not believe such an absurd ability as if the being before her severed fate itself to deliver the attack. He now believes why even the God King Odin is apprehensive about offending the Norn.

“I admit that attack just now is something that even I cannot guard against totally but it seems that your body will not last long if you do something like that.” The God of Mischief Loki stated as he observed that the Great Star Gazer suddenly looked like she was drained of energy.

Just as the God of Mischief Loki speculated, the attack that the Great Star Gazer used is concerned about reading the flow of fate and slashing at a future where her enemy is. Usually, the Great Star Gazer would not be as tried from just one attack but her enemy is a god. Gods have more powerful karma and fate compared to that of a mortal being hence just one attack from the Great Star Gazer already pushed her to exhaustion.

“Silence, trickster! Do not think that what you have done cannot be known!” The Great Star Gazer stated as she actually seen vision of the past when the God of Mischief Loki intruded in her sanctum.

The sanctum where the Great Star Gazer stays is not ordinary as any being inside will be vulnerable to readings from the owner. This meant that the Great Star Gazer could view glimpses of the past and incredibly rare visions of the future without using her ability. She can also deduce how they can fight which makes sneak attacks against her impossible.

“I see. If you actually have seen what I have done then the previous arrangement can never be accomplished. You should have just shut your mouth and appeared ignorant of what I have done, seer.” The God of Mischief Loki stated as his playful demeanor suddenly vanished and it is replaced by a very serious expression filled with killing intent.

The Great Star Gazer is not playing around when she said that she knows what the God of Mischief Loki did because she has seen it. As soon as the God of Mischief Loki stepped foot inside her sanctum, the Great Star Gazer is suddenly filled with glimpses of what the enemy before her has done. All the deals orchestrated with gods, dark gods, mad gods, and even the resurrection of calamities were all shown to the Great Star Gazer.

The Great Star Gazer also got a glimpse on the true nature of the God of Mischief Loki. He was not a simple trickster god that liked to create discord or minor inconveniences. He was a man with a plan of vengeance and he will do anything in his power to make sure that this succeeds. The God of Mischief Loki would even kill a precious seer if his plan is exposed.

“A pity. I wanted to capture you and turn you into my puppet that could conveniently give prophecies that leads to my ultimate goal but that can no longer happen now.” The God of Mischief Loki stated as he suddenly appeared behind the Great Star Gazer without her even noticing.

As soon as the God of Mischief Loki appeared behind the Great Star Gazer, she immediately screamed as numerous phantom cuts appeared on her body. Parts of her clothes that is woven from magic is even tattered. The Great Star Gazer could not believe that she could not see that attack. She is supposed to be someone that can foresee any attack done to her but the God of Mischief Loki is a great anomaly.

“I cannot see your future! What have you done to your own causality!?” The Great Star Gazer stated in disbelief.

“Did you think that I cannot trick even the eyes of fate?! I am the God of Mischief Loki and only I can control my fate. You are no longer needed seer for you know too much. Goodbye!” The God of Mischief Loki stated as he swung his two daggers towards the head of the Great Star Gazer.

“Is this my end? I already foreseen my death years ago.” The Great Star Gazer stated as she had a solemn expression.
