“Everything is reduced to nothing! The Grand Overseer must have been really angry but where is she? We sensed the presence of a dragon earlier but it suddenly vanished.” One of the Murim Alliance members stated.
“Maybe she already left.” Another member of the Murim Alliance stated.
“The Grand Overseer does not leave immediately. In fact, she would have stayed here and welcomed us to see the grand destruction she created. She would turn that into a lesson or something that we will report to the Alliance Leader. Investigate the area now and see if there are any that are trapped or in need of help.” The squad leader stated.
“Even if that is unlikely squad leader, we will do it.” The Murim Alliance Members stated as they could only see almost flattened ground.
“Squad Leader! What is that?!” One of the Murim Alliance members shouted as he saw the Heavenly Cudgel emanating divine energy as it laid fixed on the ground.
“It seems to be an artifact.” The Squad Leader stated which made the others drool as artifacts are rare in the eastern continent after all.
“Lucky!” Some of the Murim Alliance members stated as they tried to reach out for the Heavenly Cudgel.
“Wait! Do not touch!” The Squad Leader yelled but the others have already been conquered by their greed in owning an artifact.
Just like what it did to the Corrupted Huanglong, the Heavenly Cudgel released a repelling force that sent all of those that are near it to get sent flying back. The Murim Alliance members did not expect such rejection from an artifact that looked like a bronze staff. The Heavenly Cudgel actually lost its golden luster because of the miasmic lightning and the energy it used to repel the Corrupted Huanglong.
“Did all of you not know that artifacts choose their owners? Even if all of you have talent, the artifact does not care about that. You could get seriously injured and even die if you are unlucky.” The Squad Leader stated but even he is a bit tempted to try his luck.
Just as the Murim Alliance Members were discussing on what to do next, the area around them started to vibrate. A small crack suddenly appeared as a rift in space is suddenly created before them. The Murim Alliance members are alarmed because this is one of the instances where they got training from. A rift suddenly appearing meant that a being called the ’Otherworldly’ is arriving at their continent.
“Everyone! Battle formation!” The Squad Leader shouted as he gripped his sword in preparation for the arrival of the ’Otherworldly’ as they are often beasts that come in forms that are out of this world.
The rift that was small suddenly got pierced by six long spear like legs and it is expanded by them. The Murim Alliance Members cannot believe that an Otherworldly is arriving now when the eastern continent is not peaceful. All of the Murim Alliance members trembled as some of them have yet to battle an Otherworldly since only stories have been heard about them.
“Get ready! Here it comes!” The Squad Leader stated as the long sharp legs retracted a bit and the head of an insect peered out of the rift.
The Squad Leader was about to signal for them to attack when they saw a familiar looking demon come out of the rift. This demon was heavily injured as he also brought out three other women from the rift. The Squad Leader also recognized one of the women and it was none other than the Grand Overseer with a blackened hand.
Adrian came out of the rift that Kenos created and remembered how they ended up there. When the Corrupted Huanglong escaped from its seal, it also released a vast amount of miasma that destroyed a mountain. Such energy release could easily kill Adrian and the others, but Grand Mistress Nu Wa protected them.
Grand Mistress Nu Wa created a powerful barrier to repel the miasma but even that is not enough as the entire area is engulfed by the miasmic explosion. In the end, Adrian had to send them to the other dimension, but he could not do it alone. Fortunately, Kenos was still beside him and both of them created the gate to the other dimension.
“Squad leader? What should we do?” One of the second in command asked.
“Lower your weapons! That is the Demon Savior and the Grand Overseer! Tend to them immediately!” The Squad Leader shouted as he was actually one of the people Adrian saved back then when the Murim Alliance was attacked.
The commands of their squad leader are recognized as the healers of the group came rushing towards Adrian and the others. At first, Adrian did not recognize who they were which is why his aura was full on leaking, but Grand Mistress Nu Wa assured him that they were allies. The fierce aura that can make anyone submit receded and the healers came running towards them.
“I am fine. Prioritize healing my attendants as they are heavily injured.” Grand Mistress Nu Wa stated as her attendants did not look good as one lost an arm and the other a leg.
“What about you, savior?” One healer asked Adrian as he is heavily injured as well.
“I can manage for now. Saena!” Adrian stated as he summoned Saena to aid them in healing everyone.
Adrian summoned Saena because the arm of Grand Mistress Nu Wa was deteriorating from the miasma. Only a powerful healer like Saena could deal with this. Adrian commanded Saena and she released a powerful golden flame that started to burn away the miasma in Grand Mistress Nu Wa’s hand.
“Thank you.” Grand Mistress Nu Wa stated.
“It is nice to meet the savior again and the Grand Overseer! Can we know what happened? I am the Squad Leader here.” The Squad leader asked Grand Mistress Nu Wa.
“What is that?” Adrian muttered as he saw the bronze cudgel on the ground and attempted to pick it up as he surveyed the area.
