Chapter 2564: The Sanctuary of Night

The new island has been opened to the public, but no one dared to actually go inside immediately. All of the residents were waiting for the Lord of the Territory to survey the area first before they go barging in. The Daemos guards also made sure that they would not let anyone of the public inside until Adrian himself tells them that it is fine.

“Let us go then. I need to activate the guardian first.” Adrian stated as he led the way.

When one walked through the starlight bridge as they call it, the sensation of a calm night would permeate through the body of the person. The water was cool enough that it refreshes the senses of the body entirely even though only the feet itself is soaked. Adrian made sure to take a note of this as he needed to hype this up as a tourist activity.

A few minutes later, Adrian is finally at the very edge of the new floating island. He could see that there is a thin barrier coating the entire island as if it is used to preserve what is inside. The barrier is see-through which makes it easy to spot the Sanctuary of Night inside of it. Seeing that there is no problem with the barrier, Adrian entered it, and his eyes were full of awe and wonder.

As soon as Adrian passed through the thin barrier, a scenery of the beautiful night sky welcomed him. The entire area suddenly became night itself as the barrier also acts as a ceiling that contains the starry night sky. The other members of the Pantheon guild all gasped as they saw what is inside the new floating island as well. It was basically during the middle of the day outside, but it was a starry night sky inside the new floating island.

“Beautiful!”

The voices of the Pantheon guild members could not be kept as they were all amazed by it. Another amazing view is the Sanctuary of Night because it shines in a pale light that is gentle to the eyes. The Sanctuary of Night looks like a large castle that is made of moon rock as it is pale silver in color. Outside of the area of the Sanctuary of Night are statues of owls in different forms. Some are owl hippogriffs, owl bears, large owls, and even dragon owls.

“It seems grandmother has a touch in creating this island, uncle. Owls are her symbolic beasts after all, and I think those statues are not just there for display.” The Baby Erebus stated.

“The entire island basically screams her after all, and I cannot complain because she did help us tremendously. Anyways, do you feel at ease here?” Adrian asked Baby Erebus.

“Yes. It is very comforting for me.” The Baby Erebus stated.

“I should hope so because this is where you will live with your attendants from the vampires and the werewolves.” Adrian stated as this place was basically a sanctuary for the Baby Erebus as well for him to grow up healthily.

Adrian then entered the Sanctuary of Night as he passed through the shallow lake that mirrored the night sky. On the lake are beautiful moonflowers floating as they basked in the starlight to grow. Each of the moonflowers would give off a beautiful shine to them when poked which enhanced their mystical beauty.

Upon entering the large castle building, Adrian is already greeted with an enormous space with the statue of the Goddess of Night Nox at the very center of the space. The statue is actually a very accurate representation of the Goddess of the Night Nox as she is even holding her signature candlestick. Just staring at the enormous statue would make anyone bow in reverence as the divine energy radiating from it was intense.

It was not only the Goddess of Night Nox that has a statue though as there were other gods and divine entities present as well. In a smaller size compared to the enormous statue of the goddess of night are her the depiction of her children. There was the God of Dreams Morpheus in his signature sleeping pose in a cloud. There is also the Hand of Death Thanatos with his signature hood, large black wings, and scythe.

Charon is also present as well as he is in his classic boat rowing at the waters of the underworld. The Goddess Nemesis which Adrian is familiar with is also present as she is blindfolded while carrying a large sword and a scale. Another set of goddesses are the Fates as they are represented by three women that is young, motherly, and old. These were all the gods, goddesses, and divine entities that Adrian has already met but there were others that is not familiar with him.

One that Adrian is not familiar with are a group of women called the Nymphs of the West. They are divine beings that are tending to a tree bearing golden apples and carrying a pitcher containing golden wine. Another goddess that Adrian is not familiar with is the Goddess of Strife and Discord. She is represented by a beautiful lady wearing red with black wings connected to her lower back instead of her upper back. She also holds a shimmering golden apple.

Another divine being that he is not familiar with is the Personification of Satire and Mockery. He is depicted as wearing a colorful outfit while holding a goofy mask on his right hand and a jester doll on the left. Another one is the God of Old Age which is depicted as a very decrepit old man with a walking stick.

The last of the two divine beings that Adrian does not know is a veiled weeping woman that is the Personification of Pain and Distress. The last one is the Personification of Day which is a blazing woman with a sun as a crown. All of them are the children that the Goddess of Night Nox has given birth to and all of them have given their blessings to the Sanctuary of Night and the whole of Avalon in extension.
