Chapter 2543: Against a Blood Dragon

“Why did I presented myself to take down the dragon?!” Adrian muttered as three large crimson beams headed straight towards him.

[Perfect Assimilation duration has ended.]

[Kenos will be unable to be summoned for one hour.]

Adrian suddenly returned to his mirror demon form in the middle of battle. Seeing that he cannot dodge or absorb the impact of three dragon breaths, Adrian opted to stop time entirely, but something strange happened. Time was about to stop when his spell suddenly fizzled out which means that his own spell failed, and he received backlash.

[Your spell has failed due to unknown reasons.]

[You have received damage from the backlash of the spell.]

Adrian’s own magic exploded in his face which was not the first time, but this only occurred when he fails to create the magic circle. The magic circle was complete, but the magic spell itself self-destructed because of the vast mana in the area due to the Blood Dragon Sanguico. The body of the Blood Dragon Sanguico is made up of pure mana that is more potent than other ancient dragons.

Adrian did not like his spell suddenly exploding on him like that, but it also gave him a way out of the situation. The explosion of his spell did take 10% of his maximum health but it also flung him away for about three hundred meters. The explosion actually saved his life as he might have taken more damage if he got hit by all three dragon breaths.

The Blood Dragon Sanguico thought that he finished off the demon as there was an explosion that happened in the area but noticed that there was a winged being flung away from the smoke. Knowing that this is the demon, the Blood Dragon Sanguico decided to fly and chase after the demon. The Blood Dragon Sanguico might be bound in his current area but that does not mean he cannot wander around in the Vast Rocky Expanse.

The Bloodstone Quarry is where the Blood Dragon Sanguico was sealed but its effects were already loosened by the Crazed Blood Queen Akasha. Before the Blood Dragon Sanguico could not even step out of the Bloodstone Quarry but the Crazed Blood Queen Akasha heled him. The seal was weakened, and it enabled the Blood Dragon Sanguico to travel at least within the area of the Vast Rocky Expanse.

The Blood Dragon Sanguico lifted its large blood red wings, and it actually created a powerful blast of wind with just the movement. The Strigoi, vampires, or werewolves were unable to protect themselves fast enough and were blown away as the Blood Dragon Sanguico took off. The beings below were fortunate because the Blood Dragon Sanguico was in a hurry or else it would have cleansed the entire area with its dragon breath while it flew.

Adrian managed to recover even though he became a bit dazed since failing a spell comes with a small round of dizziness. He thought he was seeing things when the Blood Dragon Sanguico was coming towards him. He rubbed his eyes and clearly saw three large dragon heads with their mouths open trying to devour him entirely.

“So, you want a fight in the air? Big mistake because this is my territory! Limit Break: Summoner!” Adrian shouted as all of the magic circles of his soulbounds manifested in the air.

The first to come out was none other than Kanlaon with his serpentine body and elemental dragon balls. As soon as Kanlaon came out, he released a powerful dragon breath towards the Blood Dragon Sanguico. The Blood Dragon Sanguico saw the golden dragon before him and could feel the prestige from it. The Blood Dragon Sanguico suddenly found a very interesting and important being that could actually fully help it escape from the curse.

Kanlaon’s dragon breath needed to be dealt with first though as the Blood Dragon Sanguico used one of its heads to fire a dragon breath to counter. The clash of the powerful breath attacks of the two created a powerful shockwave in the sky that actually affected the ground below as well. The Blood Dragon Sanguico could be seen looking joyfully because he now sees what the enemy dragon really is.

“You have brought me what I need to escape! Be devoured by me and become my path to ascension!” The Blood Dragon Sanguico shouted as it actually quickly flew towards Kanlaon in breakneck speed and proceeded to pounce on the latter.

The Blood Dragon Sanguico would have been successful if not for Saena suddenly coming out of her magic circle with her feathers illuminated in different colored lights. The intense lights blinded the Blood Dragon Sanguico which made him squint with all three heads. She then proceeded to release her attack as a powerful rainbow shot towards the body of the Blood Dragon Sanguico. Kanlaon then used his dragon orbs to increase the potency of Saena’s attack as light and fire elements doubled in damage.

The Blood Dragon Sanguico got hit by Saena’s attack and promptly got pushed back which made its attempt to bite down on Kanlaon fail. The Blood Dragon Sanguico did not know what attacked it but there was a surprise waiting for it as soon as it opened its eyes. Large thunderclouds released a large lightning bolt that snaked through the sky and headed straight towards the Blood Dragon Sanguico as if he was a lightning rod.

BOOM!

“Argh! RAOAR!” The Blood Dragon Sanguico roared in pain as the sudden attack made it scream in agony as it pierced his defenses.

The bombardment did not stop there though as the roar of Kimat echoed in the area as arcs of lightning rained down on the Blood Dragon Sanguico. Even its wings were not spared as Kimat made sure to burn it down to a crisp and he did. Kimat controlled the lightning incredibly well that he could pierce small holes on the wings of the Blood Dragon Sanguico.

If the Blood Dragon Sanguico was a normal flying monster, then this would be effective, but he was a true dragon. True Dragons do not rely on their wings for basic flight as wings on a true dragon are meant to be boosters in speed rather than flight essential. Still, the wounded wings will make the Blood Dragon Sanguico have difficulty speeding up in flight which is good for them. They have seen how fast the Blood Dragon Sanguico could be as he almost bit Kanlaon.

“Bloody Wave!” The Blood Dragon Sanguico shouted as he released a powerful burst of energy from his body which resembled a sharp red torrent of energy.

Adrian knew that he could not tank this hit or protect the others which is why he planned to redirect it towards Dodu as he takes less damage than the others. Just as he was about to enact his way of saving himself, Wisteria suddenly came out with her entire size at maximum. She then roared as the crystal leaves on her tree suddenly created a powerful protective shield that took the first hit of the attack that the Blood Dragon Sanguico used.

The red torrent of sharp mana was rendered useless as Wisteria’s leave proved to be tougher. All of the damage was mitigated but that also destroyed all the leaves that she created. The power of that attack was large since Wisteria’s leaves are not easy to destroy and could actually rival the toughness of a legendary weapon. Adrian gulped as that large and powerful attack could have wiped out all of the beings below if they were fighting on the ground.

“I guess I made the right call and redirect him to the air or else the battlefield would have been filled with casualties on both sides.” Adrian thought but the Blood Dragon Sanguico was not finished.

The Blood Dragon Sanguico is finally able to see properly, and he used that moment to glare at Adrian. He did not expect that the demon was a summoner that can call upon powerful monsters that are often spoken in legend. He thought that the demon only had the Genesis Dragon with him, but it seems that he was mistaken. He even saw a strange dragon turtle that he has never encountered in his life, and he was there when the first dragons came to be.

“I have underestimated your strength, demon. I have to admit that I was too arrogant to think that you would fall easily. I shall let you taste my full power then.” The Blood Dragon Sanguico stated as his body suddenly burst out a large amount of mana with faint traces of divine energy.

“Could this be?!” Adrian thought as the entire sky suddenly got dyed with red. The lands below also looked like they became murky and red as if the land itself is changing for the Blood Dragon Sanguico. Adrian knew what this was because he often uses an ability like this.
