Chapter 2302: Feeling Empty

Chapter 2302: Feeling Empty

The strange orb that the oni masked being had the force of a dragon as its energy was used to tear space which Adrian found strange. The power of that orb felt like it was of the Arcane which should not be possible for dragons as they use elemental energy. Unless that power came from a dragon that could manipulate space, then there is no other possibility of that happening again.

“They left just like that?!” Levin Cloud grumbled as they lost their enemy and even the Primordial Beast of Wrath managed to escape.

“I apologize for not being able to stop them.” Frey stated as she felt that she was lacking due to the fact that she was unable to stop the enemy despite being closer.

“It is not your fault. All of us were easily handled by that oni masked being. Even the two gods that we have under our banner was paralyzed.” Solstice stated as the God of Skies Horus and the God of Storms Seth found offense on what she said.

“She is correct on that assumption. Whoever that broken god was, he managed to defeat us with pure skill despite having the body of a demigod. We did not think that the Shadow of Apophis could be used as a way to bind us.” The God of the Skies Horus stated.

“We were merely taken by surprise. Whatever he was, he can manipulate energy almost to the point that he could use the laws of the world even as a demigod. Still, why is a terrifying being like that attacking our continent to steal some crystals with divine energy? Does he want to ascend back to godhood but that is impossible using our own energy crystals?” The God of the Storms Seth stated.

“Such embarrassment. I could not move this body of mine due to what that broken god did. Now that all of you are available, help in killing off the horde as they are still angered. The city itself is not yet safe for all of us.” The Shadow of Apophis stated.

“I guess that is where we part ways. We no longer have any need to stay here.” Adrian stated but the Shadow of Apophis stopped him.

“I think the mediator and his friends would like to help us with the horde.” The Shadow of Apophis stated as if it was teasing.

“Why should we do that? We only came here for the Primordial Beast of Wrath, and it is no longer here.” Adrian stated but even he is not sure that he could go against three gods when they do stop them from returning to Avalon.

“In exchange for helping clear the horde, all the things they drop will be yours as long as you kill them. We will also add the information that we know of these attacks that have been happening to our temples.” The Shadow of Apophis stated.

“You do not have that kind of authority to declare that.” The God of the Storms Seth stated.

“I have already informed Ra about this exchange. Also, we need some helpers from the outside as we cannot peek into the other continents due to the laws we established for our continent. We would need some collaborators to end these sieges on our temples.” The Shadow of Apophis stated.

“If grandfather has already agreed then there is no more discussion needed.” The God of the Skies Horus stated as he agreed.

“All you will do is help against the horde and nothing more. Any actions that do not align with that will taste my sands.” The God of Storms Seth stated as he turned to sand.

“Do not mind the cranky dog as he is a bit overworked. So, will all of you help?” The Shadow of Apophis stated.

Adrian looked to all of his friends that gathered and all of them nodded. A horde like this is also a way to level up a lot as he started to stagnate when it comes to experience points. The only wauy for him to get is fighting powerful enemies alone or killing hordes of monsters. At this point, Adrian only sees the horde as experience points which is why he already summoned all of his soulbounds.

“If that is the case then we will accept the offer. I hope that everything is said in this exchange to make it worth our time.” Adrian stated.

“Thank you. Even the western continent will not dare cheat the Mediator of Death after all.” The Shadow of Apophis stated as she dissolved into shadows and returned back to the main body.

“All of you be careful and do not go alone in a horde. I will stay here and inspect how all of those masked vagabonds from the east came to this continent. I can sense traces of teleportation of some sort that is a bit different from our magic.” Adrian stated.

“We will deal with the hordes, but we know that you will still look after us.” Levin Cloud stated as he already saw Adrian in his Aetheros Mirror Demon form.

“Have fun leveling.” Adrian stated as all of his guild members spread out to help different points of the city in pairs.

“Are you not going?” Adrian asked Frey as she is still a bit disappointed that she was unable to go against the oni masked being.

“I think my self esteem took a hit from what that being they called a broken god told me about myself. His tone was not filled with mockery, but he pointed out everything that is practically a hole in my battle style.” Frey stated with a pout which made Adrian smile a bit as he did not expect that she has this side of her.

“Maybe you need to relieve some stress via pummeling some monsters. Take Sirius with you as I know that your mount is resting up from flying too fast to answer my call.” Adrian stated as Sirius came out of his shadow.

“Thanks. I guess I need this to take my mind off it.” Frey stated as he patted Sirius which made him wag his tail.

“Enjoy!” Adrian stated with a smile.

“Be careful as well as there might still be remnants of their group in the city.” Frey stated as she and Sirius dashed off.

“I wish there was as it would be easier to interrogate their souls.” Adrian stated with a rather calm tone as he entered a mirror and disappeared from his current location.

In the eastern continent, a portal that created a rift in space could be seen being created. The portal was not stable which made the being that entered it be incredibly hurt when they exited. The oni masked being had all parts of his body in tatters. He still held the mystical gourd that held the Primordial Beast of Wrath which calmed his mind as it will still be needed for the plans to come.

“Lord Chiyou!” A group of powerful immortals suddenly came rushing to the oni masked

being.

“I am fine. I just need some rest. Take the gourd and heal the Primordial Beast of Wrath.” Chiyou stated as he could be seen struggling a bit from standing.

“Did you use the Dragon Rift Bead!? What prompted you to use it?” A humanoid being that has the smell of mountains and forest asked Chiyou as she has never seen the latter that desperate to use an unstable Dragon Rift Bead.

“I was against three gods and a demon that could manipulate space at his whims. Add to that some reckless warriors that want me and the Primordial Beast of Wrath dead. Are you satisfied with that answer, Chimei?” Chiyou stated.

“How did the demons find out?” Chimei asked as she knows that they made sure to never disturb the demons. They even made sure to avoid their detection as much as possible.

“I think the demons do not know of our plan, but this young demon and his group wanted the Primordial Beast of Wrath dead. It seems that they were contracted by the Devil Gods to deal with the primordial beasts of sin.” Chiyou stated.

“If this young demon you are referring to is the Lord of Avalon in the center, then this is huge problem. He is an Arch Demon that can move other Arch Demons older than him. There is also a Noblesse hiding in that territory which is why it is difficult to plant spies. A lot of our own spies died, and no one has yet given information about that territory.” Chimei stated. “That Noblesse will not be able to move as he is still weakened. The demons are also stretched thin at the moment, and we will use that to our advantage. The plan will need some adjusting as the Primordial Beasts of Sin cannot be easily deployed as before.” Chiyou stated.

“About that… one of them managed to escape from our control.” Chimei stated as she tried to

avert his eyes from the rage that Chiyou was emanating.

“Which one?” Chiyou asked.

“Pride.” Chimei replied.
