Chapter 6249 Gifting a Carriage

Chapter 6249 Gifting a Carriage

“Not good!”

At this sight, the Lightning Falcon race’s experts paled.

The golden carriage bore down like a falling mountain, moving with terrifying speed. It brought with it a huge shockwave, and a long tail trailed behind it. It looked just like a heavenly hammer smashing toward Long Chen.

BOOM!

However, before it could reach him, the carriage suddenly changed direction as if struck by an invisible giant, flying back the way it had come.

Lei Yuner’s petite body stood in front of her comrades, over seven hundred Sovereign flames burning around her. All on her own, she had stopped the carriage’s charge.

“Seven hundred Sovereign flames!” a panicked voice cried from inside the carriage. Clearly, the occupant had never imagined such a terrifying presence would be here.

The carriage glowed as it prepared to flee.

“Stay right there!”

Lei Yuner’s figure blurred, appearing above the carriage in an instant. Her fist gathered an inferno of Sovereign flame and came crashing down.

BOOM!

Lei Yuner’s fist sent the carriage tumbling into the ground, causing a wave of earth to rise and the expressions of the Lightning Falcon race’s experts to turn green.

“This again?!” they shouted.

The Lightning Falcon race’s experts scrambled to retreat. Fortunately, Lei Yuner’s shockwave was far less devastating than the Divine Sovereign’s. It was enough to send them flying, but not enough to injure them.

“Spare me, spare me! This is a misunderstanding!” pleaded whoever was in the carriage.

“A misunderstanding? Fine, I’ll kill you first and then say it’s a misunderstanding!” Lei Yuner snarled, raining fists upon the carriage.

Lei Yuner was enraged. This fellow had just tried to kill Long Chen, and he would have succeeded if it weren’t for her.

Explosive sounds rang out. The carriage sank deeper and deeper, but its defenses were truly astonishing. No matter how Lei Yuner smashed it, it was unscathed.

Lei Yuner was even more outraged that she couldn’t damage this carriage even with seven hundred Sovereign flames.

The truth was, though she had inherited a mighty legacy, her mastery over it was still raw. Most of the magical arts and divine abilities were still new to her. Relying purely on the most primitive power of her Sovereign flames, she couldn’t break this powerful carriage.

“I refuse to believe I can’t smash this tortoise shell apart!” Lei Yuner roared.

Her fury only grew. As a lightning cultivator, her temper was naturally explosive, and now she unleashed a storm of blows without restraint.

It wasn’t long before the carriage’s runes started to dim. Once their energy was exhausted, everything would be over.

“Grand-aunt, I’m sorry! Stop, please! I’ll give you my treasures, just spare me!” the person inside wailed.

However, Lei Yuner ignored him and continued punching the carriage. She was determined to break it no matter what.

“Why bother breaking your own carriage?” a calm voice rang out.

Lei Yuner froze, startled. She turned and found Long Chen standing behind her.

“Did this fool disturb you?” asked Lei Yuner hastily.

Long Chen’s expression turned strange, but before he could reply, an aggrieved voice echoed from inside the carriage.

“You’re the one who’s been disturbing him with all your punches! I had nothing to do with it!”

“You dare to talk back?!”

Lei Yuner was just about to punch the carriage again when Long Chen stopped her.

“Come out and talk,” Long Chen said coldly.

“I don’t dare! If I come out, you’ll kill me! This really is a misunderstanding! I just wanted to test out the power of the human race’s number one expert! I had no intention of killing you! Furthermore, with my power, how could I possibly kill you?” The person inside managed to flatter Long Chen as he tried to plead his way out of his situation.

“Cut the crap. If you don’t come out, I’ll kill you right now!” said Long Chen impatiently.

The carriage shuddered, and a moment later, a skinny, wretched-looking man emerged. Though his appearance was unremarkable, he possessed five hundred Sovereign flames.

“You’re from the nine heavens! Die!” Lei Yuner shouted, her eyes blazing as she sensed his aura. “If Long Chen hadn’t broken the scales, we would have been expelled already! Instead of being grateful, you attacked him?!”

“It’s a misunderstanding, really!” the man yelped.

Long Chen, however, was unsurprised. The moment this fellow had addressed him as “the human race’s number one expert,” he’d known this fellow came from the nine heavens.

“Shut up. Leave the carriage and the control method, and get lost,” Long Chen ordered icily.

The man’s face twisted with pain. This battle carriage was something he had just acquired on the heaven region’s battlefield. He hadn’t even enjoyed it before it was being taken from him.

However, seeing Long Chen’s icy face and Lei Yuner’s furious expression, he knew he had no room to haggle.

He obediently handed over the carriage, as well as the control method.

In truth, he didn’t fully understand the carriage himself. His skills in forging had only allowed him to gain a superficial level of control. As a result, many of the carriage’s formations remained dormant. He could use it for flight, but its true defensive and offensive capabilities were beyond his reach.

“Wow... so its passive defense is already this strong! If he could activate its full abilities, I’d never have been able to break it!” Lei Yuner exclaimed once the man left.

Even with all her strength, she hadn’t managed to dent it, and that impressed her deeply.

“You should take this carriage. As long as you have enough primal chaos spirit stones, you’ll be able to continuously drive it,” said Long Chen.

“What? No, you need it!” Lei Yuner immediately rejected.

Long Chen smiled. “Don’t turn it down. With this carriage, you can split up to search for treasures. If you run into enemies, you can kill them and take their treasures.”

Her people were already climbing aboard, eyes shining with curiosity. Lei Yuner was about to scold them when Long Chen placed a hand on her shoulder.

He felt the explosive thunderforce in her body.

At this moment, her blood and soul brimmed with powerful fluctuations, and her bones bore countless newly-etched runes—still in their embryonic stage. She just had to complete them in the future.

After scanning her body, Long Chen realized: that senior had left Lei Yuner with its core runes. Long Chen’s expression changed slightly.

“What is it?” asked Lei Yuner worriedly.
