Chapter 6094 Desolate World
Chapter 6094 Desolate World
When Long Chen entered the vortex, it felt as though he were traveling through a spacetime tunnel. A powerful force dragged him forward.
Long Chen tried to resist that pull, but his struggle was meaningless in front of that force.
Long Chen suddenly had a thought. What if he were to activate all the weight runes on all his silver rods? Would that weight interrupt this suction force?
However, he didn’t dare to test it. If he ended up interrupting it, who knew where he would end up? He might vanish into the void, never to return. It wasn’t worth the risk.
The pulling force continued to intensify. Then, Long Chen started to hear something—deep, echoing roars unlike anything he had ever encountered.
All of a sudden, the mysterious vine inside the primal chaos space emitted an intense divine light. Its aura became feral, bristling with hostility, like a startled beast ready to strike.
Long Chen jumped in shock, having never seen the vine act this way. Then, he hastily assured it that no one could threaten it inside the primal chaos space.
The vine slowly calmed down, but one of its tendrils cautiously extended out behind Long Chen, poking out from his collar like a timid child peeking from behind its mother. Two leaves sprouted from it and rubbed together lightly.
“You feel like this place is familiar?” Long Chen asked, stunned to sense the vine trying to communicate with him.
Though it couldn’t speak or transmit clear divine sense, the rustling sound from the rubbing leaves conveyed its will with surprising clarity.
The more the vine responded, the more shocked Long Chen became. It was saying that the aura of this world stirred something in its memory.
In other words, something here was very likely from the same origin as the vine.
The vine too had heard those distant roars, and they filled it with deep instinctual fear. In response, countless divine runes started to form across the vine—runes Long Chen had never seen before. Something within it was awakening.
However, the vine seemed confused—like a child with amnesia, aware of forgotten memories but unable to grasp them.
Then, the two leaves brushed against Long Chen’s cheek like two small hands.
He chuckled. “Alright, once you’re stronger, I’ll help you beat up whoever bullied you.”
This little vine really was adorable.
As Long Chen rubbed it, he said, “Since you don’t know who you are, I’ll call you Zhi Zhi[1] in the future. Hopefully, you’ll learn everything that way.”
The mysterious vine seemed particularly happy with this name.
Just then, the distant roars returned, causing Zhi Zhi to retreat into the primal chaos space.
Long Chen suddenly felt his body sink, and he shot out of the spatial passageway like a bullet.
The world that greeted him was bleak—gray, dead, and suffocating. Spiritual qi was almost nonexistent here, and the air stank of death and rot.
“The natural laws are broken. There’s no spiritual qi at all… you can’t cultivate here. Stay too long, and my cultivation will start regressing,” Long Chen muttered, his expression darkening. “Is this really the Whale Necropolis?”
That couldn’t be right. When a Heaven Whale died, it was said to return all of its accumulated energy and blessings to the world. A land born from such a death should have been a sacred realm brimming with treasures.
And yet this land felt like the grave of the world itself.
Suddenly sensing something strange, Long Chen waved his hand. The next moment, the earth split open, and a piece of jade flew into his palm.
A seven-colored arrow was carved onto its surface.
Seeing it, Long Chen smiled.
Father was worried I’d get lost.
Only someone carrying Long Zhantian’s Supreme Blood could sense this jade’s presence. Then, Long Chen followed the direction of the arrow.
This place truly felt like a land of death. The soil was barren, and even the stones were falling apart. There was no trace of elemental energy, no vitality—nothing.
Long Chen couldn’t even sense the slightest trace of life as far as he could see.
Suddenly, an explosive sound tore through the silence. The sky darkened.
A black cloud surged toward Long Chen—no, not a cloud, but a swarm of devil bats.
Each stood as tall as a human, with hooked claws, blade-like feet, and four muscular arms. Black wings covered in runes beat the air, and their armored bodies gleamed with dark scales.
Their fangs were covered in blood-colored runes, as well as some kind of sticky liquid. Even from a distance, Long Chen could smell the toxicity. Anyone bitten would probably die from that poison.
To Long Chen’s surprise, these monsters were emitting the aura of the Human Emperor realm, but they were not in human form.
Within the nine heavens, only three types of beings could reach the Human Emperor realm without taking human form:
One: ancient races blessed with exceptional bloodlines, capable of defying the laws of heaven and earth. Such races were rare, limited to only legend. Long Chen had never encountered one in the flesh.
Two: primitive races with low intelligence and talent. Though capable of reaching this cultivation base, their lack of sentience made transformation impossible. They were normally devil races with weak bloodlines.
Three: beings from beyond the heavens, unbound by its laws. Devil creatures within the nine heavens were a good example of this. However, amongst them, the higher-ranking Heaven Devils could still transform.
As for these lifeforms before Long Chen, they emitted a terrifying devil qi, and their eyes were full of bloodthirst and violence. They were most likely devils from outside the heavens.
Without hesitation, they surged toward Long Chen like a black tide.
Long Chen reached out and pulled one of them toward him with a flick of his hand. Then, with a clench of his fist, Long Chen crushed the devil.
Long Chen found that their bodies were very strong, especially their scales. They were comparable to Emperor items.
However, these bats had very little essence blood within their bodies, barely a fist’s worth.
More surprisingly, it had neither a crystal core in its head nor a Neidan in its abdomen. All its strength came from that tiny reserve of essence blood.
As a result, these devil bats could unleash sudden explosive power, but they could not maintain it for long.
However, the amount of energy contained within their little bit of essence blood was surprising. An average Human Emperor wouldn’t be a match for them.
Just as Long Chen finished testing out their power, dragon scales filled the air, swarming over the swarm of devil bats.
