Chapter 6032 Double Sovereign Body
Chapter 6032 Double Sovereign Body
Long Chen and the palace master traveled shoulder to shoulder. Divine light flowed beneath the palace master’s feet. With every step, the space in front of them twisted.
Long Chen was shocked. The palace master was using his Sovereign flame to make each step equivalent to a spatial teleportation.
But this wasn’t normal teleportation—the chaotic flow of space resisted it violently. It felt like they were walking through a raging hurricane.
“Palace Master, you speed up a bit. I can endure it,” said Long Chen.
The palace master’s footsteps were not rushed, making Long Chen think he was slowing the pace for his sake.
Shaking his head, the palace master said, “I’ve just condensed my second Sovereign body. I still can’t control its power yet.”
“A second Sovereign body?!”
At first, Long Chen didn’t think much of it—until he recalled the terrifying might of a true Sovereign Lord’s quintessence Sovereign body.
“Two Sovereign bodies place someone at the second Heavenstage of the Sovereign Lord realm. Such individuals are called double-body Sovereign Lords,” explained the palace master. “I saw how you and your companions killed that Sovereign Lord from the Evil Blood Giant Devil race. It was impressive.”
The palace master looked at Long Chen with admiration. As someone who had condensed two quintessence Sovereign bodies, he knew just how big the gap was between an ordinary Sovereign Lord and a true Sovereign Lord.
Long Chen rubbed his nose, a little embarrassed. “Honestly, we took advantage of his condition. If he wasn’t already severely weakened, we wouldn’t have stood a chance.”
In truth, Long Chen could only act so brazen because he had the Earth Cauldron. If he really couldn’t win, the Earth Cauldron could bring them away. That was why he had dared to come to the Nine Peak Dragon Domain and directly slaughter all those races. Without some trump cards, who would dare to act so recklessly?
The palace master, however, disagreed. “Even an injured true Sovereign Lord is still nearly impossible to kill. You should be proud of what you accomplished.”
Long Chen grew even more uncomfortable at the praise. Still, the fact that they had banded together and slain a true Sovereign Lord did bring a faint sense of pride to his heart.
“I’ve heard what you did. I’m gratified. The human race finally has someone with both courage and wisdom—someone willing to risk everything for the future of the people. As for our dragon race… sigh, we’re not even worth mentioning,” the palace master said, shaking his head bitterly.
Long Chen hastily replied, “This matter was simply related to the future of our human race, so I had no choice. Luckily, it had nothing to do with the dragon race.”
“No, that’s not what I meant,” said the palace master. “The dragon race has fractured completely. It’s like a plate of scattered sand. Some branches have even betrayed their heritage and become tools for others. It’s disgraceful. The truth is, the dragon race simply hasn’t been strong enough. After countless years, we still haven’t produced a true leader capable of uniting our experts.”
Long Chen bitterly smiled. “Is the human race not the same? Ever since the Nine Star Master fell, our glory became a thing of the past. What’s worse, we didn’t just lose our backbone—we’ve been kneeling for so long, our knees are practically rooted in the ground.”
The palace master sighed. “Let’s not talk about such enraging things. As for your earlier question—yes, part of why I’m not moving faster is because I haven’t fully controlled my power. If I push too hard, we might get swept into the chaotic spatial flow. I could break out of it, but I wouldn’t be able to control where we end up.
“And besides, I want to preserve my peak combat strength. There’s a high chance we’ll have to fight once we reach the Heaven Dragon Law Domain.”
“A fight?” Long Chen was surprised.
Was the palace master thinking of killing his way in like Long Chen had killed his way into the Nine Peak Dragon Domain?
“You possess the dragon race’s blood and control the dragon race’s divine abilities. But you have yet to truly understand the dragon race. The dragon race respects strength—nothing else. If you want to deal with them, don’t waste time with words. Only power will get them to respect you. Understand?”
Long Chen nodded. It seemed that wherever the dragon race existed, the rules remained the same—even for the exalted sovereign dragon race.
“Just keep up with my footsteps, and do your best to recover your strength. In the worst-case scenario, both of us will need to fight. Remember, if a battle erupts, it will be to the death. Do not hold back,” warned the palace master gravely.
“I understand.”
Long Chen immediately began absorbing the dense spiritual qi around him, entering full recovery mode. He even summoned his eight-color divine ring to accelerate the process.
Space around them warped and twisted. After two hours, the palace master finally withdrew the power of his Sovereign flame. By now, Long Chen had recovered nearly ninety percent of his strength.
He wasn’t at his absolute peak, but the bloodshed he experienced last time had sharpened him. He felt stronger—like something deep within him had evolved.
At this moment, the two of them arrived at the peak of a mountain. They looked ahead and saw a giant spherical barrier covering a world.
Endless dragons swirled on top of the barrier. And coiled atop it was a single, colossal golden dragon.
Long Chen’s heart shook when he saw that dragon. The dragon was so enormous that its body stretched beyond the clouds, its head towering into the heavens, as if it were absorbing the energy of the entire universe to nourish the world below.
“What terrifying karmic luck! It’s millions of times stronger than the Nine Peak Dragon Domain!” gasped Long Chen.
When they slaughtered their way into the Nine Peak Dragon Domain, they were bolstered by its karmic luck. At the time, it felt as if their karmic fortune was a hundred times greater than what they’d possessed in their original Dragon Domain.
But in front of this golden dragon, the Nine Peak Dragon Domain was nothing. The difference was staggering.
“That is the Heavenly Dao Golden Dragon of the sovereign dragon race,” said the palace master. “It’s said to be the dragon closest to the Heavenly Daos, but it’s not a living dragon. It’s the formation eye of this Dragon Domain, condensed entirely from karmic luck. It draws in the world’s natural energy to nourish the domain. You can think of it as the dragon race’s equivalent of the human race’s spirit-gathering formations.”
Long Chen was shocked. Now that the world had changed, the normal spirit-gathering formations had essentially become useless. But this golden dragon wasn’t just drawing spiritual qi—it was also absorbing karmic luck and the power of the ten thousand Daos’ laws.
Even Sovereign Mountain had nothing like this.
“Are you ready?” asked the palace master.
The moment Long Chen nodded, the palace master stepped forward, appearing directly in front of the barrier, and struck it with his fist.
BOOM!
A hole blasted open in the barrier, and a torrential wave of energy surged outward. The qi was so overwhelming that Long Chen was nearly blown back.
“Invaders of the Heaven Dragon Law Domain will die!”
An icy voice thundered through the skies. A pillar of divine light erupted from within the barrier, hurtling straight toward Long Chen and the palace master.
