Myth Beyond Heaven

Chapter 2986: Trump Cards (2)

Chapter 2986: Trump Cards (2)

The Netherworld fell into a heavy silence after the Yama King’s words. The revelation that Nian Shi might wield traces of Yin’s power sent chills through everyone present.

Then—

“Ren Yuan!”

Linlin suddenly blurted out, her eyes widening. Everyone turned to her.

“He… he seemed to possess Yin’s power too.”

Long Qingxuan’s expression shifted as she recalled. “That’s right. He agreed to release Yin by exchanging for a portion of his power.”

Nantian Fengyu’s frost aura spiked violently. “Then it’s confirmed. Primordial Gods can wield the Chasm’s power!”

She slammed her fist into her palm. “Damn it! What do we do now?”

Long Xi’s draconic eyes gleamed with determination. “The only option is to find Yun Lintian and warn him.”

Gui Xuan, who had been silent, suddenly spoke up in his childlike voice. “No.”

All eyes turned to the Black Turtle God.

“There’s no stopping him now,” Gui Xuan said calmly. “Even if we find him, we can’t change his path.”

Long Qingxuan’s fists clenched. “But—”

“Think carefully,” Gui Xuan interrupted. “Does Yun Lintian truly seem mindless to you?”

The question hung in the air.

Gui Xuan continued, “If he had truly lost his mind, wouldn’t he have gone straight for Nian Shi’s throat the moment his loved ones were erased? Instead, he’s systematically hunting Primordial Gods across timelines.”

A slow realization dawned on the group.

Long Niu was the first to voice it. “You’re saying… Big Brother Yun is still thinking clearly?”

“He’s never been more focused,” Gui Xuan replied. “This isn’t blind rage—it’s cold calculation.”

The Yama King nodded slowly. “Lord Gui speaks truth. That man’s eyes when he killed Lord Mingyu… they weren’t the eyes of a madman. They were… purposeful.”

Yun Xia slowly spoke up. “Lintian had restrained himself in the past. He never took a risk because he had something to lose. He knew that once he fell, all the people behind him would be in danger, especially after knowing his fate as a Seed of Fate.”

She raised her head to look at the gray sky of the Netherworld and continued. “Now that there’s nothing left for him… Nothing can restrain him now. He can finally let go and unleash his true power. This is the power he should have displayed all along, but we have never seen it.”

Long Xi and the others fell silent. They were accustomed to the kind Yun Lintian, who made jokes and was carefree most of the time. But they simply forgot that this man possessed power beyond anyone—the power of the Creator. He was more than capable enough to slaughter anyone at will.

Now, he had no worries. He had nothing to lose. It was normal for him to turn into the killing machine that he had suppressed all this time.

Long Xi’s draconic eyes gleamed with determination as she stepped forward. “Even if we can’t stop him, we must still find him.” She turned to Gui Xuan. “Can you locate him again?”

The Black Turtle God nodded, raising his tiny hand. Ancient runes shimmered in the air as he traced the threads of fate. After a moment, the glowing Netherworld and Mortal runes gradually dimmed, leaving the Heaven rune shining brightly.

“The Heaven Realm.”

With a wave of his hand, a swirling portal tore open before them. Without hesitation, Long Xi led the group through. Gui Xuan leapt back into Zhang Yu’s arms, but before entering the portal, he turned to the Yama Kings.

“I hope you do not blame him for this,” the childlike god said solemnly. “Keep order in the Netherworld. No matter what happens next, chaos cannot be allowed.”

The lead Yama King bowed deeply. “We understand, Lord Gui.”

With that, the portal swallowed them whole.

Somewhere in a higher realm, five towering figures stood arrayed against a lone man—their divine auras shaking the very fabric of the reality.

At their center, Yun Lintian remained motionless, the Heaven Sunderer Greatsword humming ominously in his grip. His golden and dark eyes held no emotion as he faced the Primordial Gods.

The God of Heaven—a majestic figure wreathed in celestial light—narrowed his eyes. “You… bear my power.” His voice echoed like thunder. “No, it’s not my power… You came from another timeline.”

Beside him, the God of Illusion—a woman whose form constantly shifted between countless faces—spoke warily. “Nian Shi would never allow cross-timeline interference. Unless…” Her many eyes sharpened. “You have an artifact that can bypass his barrier.”

Yun Lintian said nothing.

The air grew heavier with each passing second. The remaining three Primordial Gods—the God of War, the God of Plague, and the God of Stars—exchanged glances.

Then—

“Enough talk!” The God of War roared, his massive axe igniting with crimson energy. “Let’s see if this interloper bleeds!”

He charged.

Yun Lintian moved.

BOOM!

The Heaven Sunderer met the axe in a cataclysmic collision. Space shattered around them as the shockwave flattened entire celestial mountains.

The God of War’s eyes widened as cracks spiderwebbed across his divine weapon—then his arms.

“Impossib—”

PUFF!

The greatsword cleaved through axe, armor, and godly flesh alike. The God of War split cleanly down the middle, his divine essence erupting like a broken dam.

Before his corpse could hit the ground, Yun Lintian inhaled deeply—and the swirling power of war itself surged into his body.

The remaining four gods recoiled.

“He… absorbed him?!” the God of Plague gasped.

The God of Heaven’s face darkened. “Together! Now!”

Celestial light, illusory nightmares, virulent plagues, and cosmic starlight converged upon Yun Lintian in a devastating symphony of divine wrath.

The heavens trembled.

Then—

A pulse.

Golden and black energy exploded outward from Yun Lintian’s body, canceling all attacks midair. His mismatched eyes locked onto the God of Illusion.

Her thousand faces paled.

“You first.”

His sword flashed.

The God of Illusion didn’t even have time to react as the greatsword cut through her neck.

At that moment, the portal spat out Long Xi’s group just in time to witness the God of Illusion’s demise. Her body dissolved into motes of light as Yun Lintian absorbed her essence.

“Big Brother Yun!” Linlin cried out.

He didn’t turn.

The God of Heaven bellowed in rage, summoning a spear of pure celestial judgment. “You dare—”

Yun Lintian vanished.

Reappeared.

The Heaven Sunderer plunged through the God of Heaven’s chest.

“Ghk—!”

With a brutal twist, Yun Lintian ripped the sword upward—bisecting the god vertically.

Three down.

Two to go.

Long Qingxuan stepped forward desperately. “Lintian! Stop! Nian Shi can—”

Suddenly, a spatial rift emerged above and a figure slowly stepped out.

Nian Shi.
