Myth Beyond Heaven

Chapter 2975: Cracking (1)

Chapter 2975: Cracking (1)

Yun Lintian’s body flickered through space as he narrowly avoided Linlin’s claw strike, the death-tainted wind from her attack carving deep gashes in the grey earth.

Before he could counter, Long Qingxuan’s draconic energy descended like a collapsing mountain, forcing him to divert his Heaven Sunderer to block.

BOOM!

The impact sent shockwaves rippling outward, but Yun Lintian didn’t retaliate—he couldn’t. Not against them.

The Abyssal Ghost Knight’s laughter echoed across the battlefield. “Look at you—the mighty Yun Lintian, hesitating like a common mortal!”

His fingers twitched as he injected more death energy into Long Chen and Qian Jinglei, reviving their corrupted forms. “This is your fatal weakness. You claim to uphold balance, but when faced with sacrificing what you love, you falter.”

Yun Lintian ignored the taunt, his focus split between evading attacks and seeking an opening to purify his friends. But the corrupted quartet moved with terrifying synergy.

Long Qingxuan manipulated gravity itself, making every step Yun Lintian took feel like wading through molten lead.

Linlin’s White Tiger claws shredded the very fabric of space, leaving wounds that resisted healing.

Yue Zhihe twisted probability, ensuring every defensive maneuver Yun Lintian made was slightly “off.”

Long Chen and Qian Jinglei, now fully revived, flanked him with spear and ice, their enhanced Primordial God Realm power making each strike lethal.

At this moment, Yun Lintian raised a hand, summoning a barrier of golden light—the Tree of Life’s protection. But Long Qingxuan’s draconic roar shattered it instantly. Linlin pounced the moment his defense fell, her claws aimed at his throat.

He barely twisted aside, but Qian Jinglei’s frost-laden palm struck his shoulder instead. Ice spread rapidly, locking his arm in place.

“Pathetic,” the Ghost Knight sneered. “You could end this in an instant if you stopped holding back. But you won’t.” He spread his arms mockingly. “Because your ’balance’ is just another cage.”

Yun Lintian’s mismatched eyes hardened. He knew the Ghost Knight was right—if this were any other enemy, he would have already unleashed the full might of Creation and Destruction. But against Long Qingxuan, against Linlin…

There has to be another way.

Yun Lintian’s eye flickered toward the Abyssal Ghost Knight as he twisted away from another combined assault. The figure stood motionless, observing the battle with amusement.

The Ghost Knight’s hollow chuckle echoed. “What? Thinking of attacking me now?” He raised a black-gloved hand and crooked his finger mockingly. “Come then. Try.”

Yun Lintian didn’t hesitate.

The Heaven Sunderer Greatsword hummed violently as he swung it—not with raw force, but with precision. A blade of pure Creation and Destruction sliced through reality itself, aimed directly at the Ghost Knight’s core.

The Ghost Knight didn’t move. He simply smiled.

“Fool.”

WHOOSH!

A streak of black lightning intercepted the strike. Linlin—her corrupted form moving faster than thought—threw herself in the blade’s path.

CRACK!

The impact shattered her body instantly. Bones fractured, flesh tore, and her broken form was sent flying like a ragdoll.

Yun Lintian’s breath caught.

The Ghost Knight’s laughter filled the wasteland. “Did you really think I wouldn’t anticipate that?” He gestured lazily, and the fallen Linlin began reassembling herself, death energy stitching her back together. “They are my shields as much as they are my weapons. Every move you make against me… they will suffer for it.”

Yun Lintian’s grip on the Heaven Sunderer tightened until his knuckles turned white.

The Ghost Knight tilted his head. “Still want to try again?”

Swoosh!

Long Qingxuan and Yue Zhihe attacked simultaneously—one from above with draconic fury, the other from below with probability-warping strikes. Yun Lintian barely deflected them, but Qian Jinglei’s ice encased his legs again, while Long Chen’s spear grazed his ribs.

Blood dripped onto the grey earth, sizzling as it dissolved traces of death energy.

The Ghost Knight watched, amused. “You’re weakening. How long until you make the choice you’ve been avoiding?”

Yun Lintian didn’t answer. His mind raced.

There has to be a way.

Then—

A whisper. Faint, but unmistakable.

“Big Brother Yun… free us…”

It wasn’t just Linlin’s voice this time. Long Qingxuan’s, Yue Zhihe’s—even Long Chen and Qian Jinglei’s—all layered together, buried beneath the corruption.

They were still fighting.

And that changed everything.

Yun Lintian exhaled. His mismatched eyes hardened with resolve.

The next time the Ghost Knight crooked his finger, Yun Lintian moved—but not toward him.

Instead, the Heaven Sunderer plunged into the grey earth.

BOOOOOOM!

The wasteland quaked as golden light erupted in a massive wave, washing over Long Qingxuan, Linlin, Yue Zhihe, Long Chen, and Qian Jinglei at once.

The Ghost Knight’s smirk vanished. “Hmm?”

The golden light from the Heaven Sunderer exploded outward, transforming the grey wasteland in an instant. Barren earth became lush grassland, withered trees sprouted vibrant leaves, and the oppressive death aura recoiled like a wounded beast.

The Abyssal Ghost Knight’s masked face twitched—not from fear, but shock.

“This… shouldn’t be possible.” His gloved hands clenched. “You shouldn’t have reached this level of purity with Creation’s power.”

Then realization struck him.

“Five thousand years…” The Ghost Knight’s voice turned icy. “You weren’t imprisoned in that timespace. You were training.”

Yun Lintian stood calmly amidst the blooming life, his mismatched eyes locked onto his enemy. “Nian Shi’s trap was flawed. Time didn’t stand still for me—I controlled it.”

The Ghost Knight’s skeletal mask hid his expression, but his shoulders stiffened. “Impossible. That space was absolute. No one could—”

“You’re right,” Yun Lintian interrupted. “No one could. But I’m not just ’anyone.’”

From the Abyssal Ghost Knight’s reaction, Yun Lintian finally confirmed that Nian Shi’s trap was supposed to freeze him in that timespace for thousands of years, slowing down his progress from refining the Seed of Time.

However, for an unknown reason, it didn’t work on him and even ended up giving him precious time to fully realize his potential.

The Ghost Knight recovered quickly, chuckling darkly. “So what? Even with this power, you still hesitate. You could have ended this already if you weren’t so weak-willed.”

Yun Lintian’s gaze didn’t waver. “I wanted to see how far you’d go. Turns out, you’re just another coward hiding behind others.”

He gestured to the recovering Long Qingxuan and the others, their corruption slowly being purged by the radiant energy. “Your ’eternal peace’ is a lie. You don’t want to end suffering—you just want to be the one holding the knife when everything dies.”

The Ghost Knight’s laughter died instantly…
