Chapter 872 - 873: Throwing a Little Tantrum
"No way, Elias Hale definitely wouldn’t do that," Melody Thorne was very confident in his character.
The memories in her mind were of Elias Hale saving her many times, so he’s her benefactor.
Jared Quinn’s face turned even darker. "Do you trust him or me?"
Melody looked at the serious eyes of the man holding her and murmured, "Can’t I trust my own eyes?"
Jared really wanted to tell her how blind she was with her eyes before; whoever she saw was always against her. Back then she had brains and tactics, so he wasn’t worried.
Now, wherever she goes, he worries immensely, wishing he could tie her to him and take her everywhere.
"This issue is not negotiable."
"Humph," Melody pushed the man beside her away and turned around to go upstairs.
Angry?
After processing the documents, Jared also went upstairs, found that the bedroom was empty, and opened Timmy’s room to discover she was sleeping on the same bed with the servant caring for Timmy, curled up and throwing a small tantrum.
Jared laughed in exasperation, strode over, and lifted the little woman who was throwing a tantrum, brought her back to his bedroom, placed her on the big bed, and kissed her brow and her little pout when she was angry.
He thought he was truly ensnared by this little woman. Even her angry tantrums were something he couldn’t get enough of.
Melody pretended to be asleep on purpose, but later she actually fell asleep.
In the morning, at seven o’clock, Melody received a call from Nina King, lazily yawning and answering, "Hello."
"Melody, why are you still asleep? Didn’t I tell you there’s a roadshow today? I texted you yesterday."
"Really?" Melody scratched her head and replied muddled, "I didn’t see it."
Oh dear, is our precious ancestor losing her ambition along with her memories?
Nina felt her heart aching; as an agent, she poured her heart and soul into Melody’s company, but Melody didn’t seem to care at all.
If this were the old Melody, she’d probably be awake already.
"Hurry up, I’m heading to the Quinn Family now, get up quickly, the roadshow starts at nine," Nina urged.
Melody’s phone was on speaker, and the man sleeping beside her heard everything clearly. An arm was draped over her waist, and his morning voice was incredibly sexy, "Tell her you’re not going today. Stay home and get some rest, sleep longer."
Nina "..."
Melody yawned again, and just as she was about to follow his hint, Nina’s frantic voice burst through the phone, "If you don’t go today, I’ll resign. You can run the company yourself, Timmy!"
That shout instantly woke Melody up. "I’m going, I’m going."
She definitely didn’t want to run the company herself.
Groggily climbing out of bed, Melody picked out her clothes.
When she came out of the bathroom, the man lying on the bed was already dressed. His black, well-tailored suit complemented his tall and handsome figure, and that perfectly sculpted face shone under the sunlight coming through the window, irresistibly enchanting.
An ancient saying immediately popped into Melody’s mind, "To die under a peony blossom, though as a ghost, one would live a life of charm."
"Shall I accompany you?"
"No."
Melody cursed under her breath, scolding herself for being hopeless. She wiped the corner of her mouth, pretending she was still angry from yesterday, "No, you don’t even agree with me pursuing my hobbies, you must not love me enough!"
After she spoke, her tongue flicked quickly, almost as if lightning would strike outside.
