Chapter 1541 - 1540: Hot Water

Chapter 1541: Chapter 1540: Hot Water

After we learned of that incredible news things quieted down somewhat quickly as we brought their things up into their rooms and suggested everyone take a moment to freshen up, which almost certainly resulted in the powerful futanari all turning towards their wives hungrily.

I knew it happened with us since Anput pounced on Leone and rode the Vampire hard as the two celebrated, leaving Jahi to hoist me onto her lap in the bath as we watched them in amusement; a half hour or so later we were back downstairs, and since they were going to be here for a little while anyways…

“I’m sorry, you opened a what?”

Mother and Mother Ria were ’smiling’ at me whilst Mom just snickered and lounged on the couch, swirling some wine around and leaving her two wives alone – and forsaking me in the process whilst I glared at Jahi.

We had broken into groups based on blood by this point, with Anput taking her parents out to see the forge and share in the excitement whilst Leone sought some normalcy out of her Mom, who was still quite stable and calm despite learning that she was going to be a grandparent sometime soon.

Coughing into a handkerchief, I hid my nervous smile and repeated myself as the older Dogkin and azure eyed Elf stared at me closely, their own ’smiles’ being far sharper than I had ever seen before… at least aimed towards me.

“I… Well, it’s a… Lounge. For wealthier people to relax… enjoy drinks, nice meals, and um… be entertained… by dancers..? And there’s a singer!”

Jahi was trying desperately to not grin as she just nodded in agreement, the Demoness not caring one bit that her ’nonchalant’ update on what I had been doing now had me in hot, boiling water… and she wasn’t coming to ’help’ me either.

“He’s a nice singer too, I must admit. Really knows how to make use of his tongue, he does.”

I suppose she was ’helping’ in that sense, but there was nothing for me to do besides just contain my anger for later and focus on not getting hit by my two Mother’s, who were both tapping their fingers against their teacups in order to try and restrain themselves a little.

“A singer…”

Mother Ria just repeated that whilst Mother took a deep breath before asking “Katherine Zara, what possibly made you think opening a… ’Lounge’, as you called it, was going to be a good idea? Or even be an idea that you should consider at all?”

Thankfully someone was willing to help me since Cali appeared out of nowhere in that cloud of pink smoke right behind me, the Arch Fiend humming and grinning as she said “It was indeed a good idea~! It was also an idea that she had to execute thanks to that contract we have together~!”, switching the two’s ire from me to her.

Not so thankfully the one to come help me was Cali, who had no real intention to sugarcoat her words whatsoever and instead just told them the truth, which was certainly an idea of all time considering their current mood.

She seemed to realize that since the moment the air got that sweet hint of ozone she vanished immediately, also avoiding a swift disc of water that carved a small notch in the wood it ended up impacting.

“So did she-!”

“Mother, Cali didn’t force me to do anything, nor did I actually ’do’ anything! I promise! It’s just… like she said, part of the contract I made way back when mentioned working together to make some place where she could… y’know..?”

That barely seemed to work on Mother, but Mother Ria took a breath and pat Mother’s shoulder for a moment as she said “This is still something that is… not necessarily what any of us would want to hear, but I suppose we can figure out how to live with it. However…”

Her pointed stare and Mother’s nod of agreement made me smile wryly as I made sure to let them know I understood, and even after we moved past this subject they still gave me looks that just made everything… a bit uncomfortable, but I could understand why.

Anput PoV

“What a wonderful day~!”

Mother’s grin made me roll my eyes as I leaned on the anvil, watching as she pranced around the forge radiating that smugness that never seemed to leave her even after all this time; thankfully though Mom stopped her from being too overbearing about it since she understood that this was not the ’ideal’ thing to have happen during this visit.

If Mother kept butting heads with Mother Julie there could be some genuine dislike formed between our family and Kat’s, which was something I really wanted to avoid, as did Mom; thankfully the two Dogkin seemed to be capable of maintaining this sort of twisted ’closeness’ but I didn’t want to risk anything…

“Kio, if you don’t tone it down with Julie I won’t hesitate to send you back.”

The Dogkin just shrugged her shoulders and grinned at us both as she replied “That doesn’t change the fact that her brat got knocked up by Anput first~!”, making me roll my eyes once more whilst murmuring “What does it matter anyways..?”

“It matters because-!”

“Kio.”

Letting out a huff and crossing her arms, Mother acted far younger than she actually was for a few moments as she pouted and refused to look at either of us, though when Mom turned towards me and nodded she showered us with that smug grin once more.

“Congratulations on both, Anput. Your own pups and now you carry the Princess’ child… It is quite the honor.”

Patting my stomach, I grinned at Mom and said “That it is~! Somewhat of a shame that it wasn’t Jahi’s first since she’s supposed to be the head of our family and whatnot, but now there’s a real~ tie between the Empire and the Sultanate~! I bet all those irritating old geezers won’t be able to say much now, huh~?”

I know she had told me so long ago that with this marriage I was meant to forget about the various political workings of the Sultanate and just focus on the Empire, but obviously that was impossible and it wasn’t something I was ever going to let her forget.

So although my Mother chipped in every now and again to try and bring us back around to the litter of pups that would bind them to the Asmodia’s somewhat, we were spending far more time discussing the baby that would be growing in my body since… well, obviously that was the more ’pressing’ matter.

That was where Mother actually began to be more useful and less of an irritant since she settled down and discussed those sorts of things with me, though that was only after a few reminders from Mom that showed how those comments were beginning to grow old.
