Chapter 48: Chapter 43: Jiang Zhengfeng 3
But just as she stepped inside,
Jiangg Ning found someone else hiding there.
She glanced over curiously and was immediately even more surprised.
It was President Jiang!
Jiangg Ning had been ready to completely give up on her chance to meet Jiang Zhengfeng. She never expected to run into him in this little corner. He was staring intently at his phone, seemingly absorbed in something, and didn’t even react when he noticed someone beside him.
This really fell right into her lap!
Now she had a way to report back. ’I’m so lucky,’ she thought.
She watched from the side for a moment, then found the right time to approach and say softly, “Hello, President Jiang.”
Jiang Zhengfeng turned his head and gave her a somewhat surprised look. “And you are?”
“My name is Jiangg Ning. You probably don’t know me, but I’m Jiangg Ruxue’s daughter.”
“Oh, I see. President Jiangg is a formidable business elite in Mingzhu City. I’ve heard a great deal about her.”
Jiang Zhengfeng was very polite. He was friendly toward everyone, except for enemies competing for the same interests.
Jiangg Ning hadn’t expected her own mother to be described as “formidable.” ’Then again, it’s probably just a pleasantry,’ she thought.
She quickly nodded her thanks, planning to turn and leave. Her mission was complete!
Just as Jiangg Ning was about to walk away, Jiang Zhengfeng suddenly called out to her. “Wait. Are you free right now? Could you help me with something?”
“Ah… Of course, President Jiang. What is it?”
“This,” Jiang Zhengfeng said, handing her his phone. “Help me take a look.”
But what was on the screen left Jiangg Ning dumbfounded!
Qzone!
The president of such a huge corporation was hiding out on a balcony, using Qzone!?
“I used to be able to access this photo album. Why can’t I get into it now?” Jiang Zhengfeng asked with a serious expression.
“Let me see… ’Access Denied. Request Required.’ The owner of the album must have locked it. If you want to view it, you’ll need to get their permission. You can just tap here to send a request, President Jiang.”
“So it needs permission,” Jiang Zhengfeng said, the realization dawning on him.
“And this is…?”
“Oh, I forgot to mention. This is my son’s account. I don’t get to see him often, so I frequently look through his photo albums.”
“I see… You really care about your son, President Jiang. You’re a good father.”
“No,” Jiang Zhengfeng said, shaking his head, much to Jiangg Ning’s surprise. “I wouldn’t say I’m a good one. My son can’t stand me.”
“It’s probably just a rebellious phase. He’ll grow out of it.”
“You might be right… By the way, what does this sentence mean?”
Jiang Zhengfeng handed her the phone again. On the screen was a Qzone post his son had published four years ago.
Jiangg Ning silently read the words.
The content was: “I hope one day, I can meet my own Uesugi Erii.”
“What part don’t you understand?”
“Who is this Uesugi Erii?”
It was something from a younger generation that Jiang Zhengfeng didn’t quite get. He had asked his secretary, but his secretary didn’t know either.
He couldn’t very well just grab a new employee at the company and ask them.
So he had always been curious about what this sentence actually meant.
“Um… let me explain it this way. Uesugi Erii is a female character from a novel. She’s endearingly dorky, innocent, and kind—very likable. Your son is probably hoping to meet a wonderful girl just like her.”
“Now that you put it that way, I understand. That kid…” Jiang Zhengfeng suddenly broke into a brilliant smile.
He was gratified to have learned a little more about his son.
But seeing Jiang Zhengfeng like this, Jiangg Ning grew puzzled.
“Why don’t you just ask him yourself?”
“I have, but he doesn’t want to communicate much with me. It’s always me trying to reach out and him giving me the cold shoulder.”
His slightly melancholic expression took Jiangg Ning by surprise.
It completely changed her perception of the god-tier business tycoon.
’So even someone so powerful can get hung up on such small things,’ she thought.
“Don’t worry. The fact that you at least want to communicate with him already makes you a very good parent,” Jiangg Ning praised sincerely.
And those words undoubtedly made Jiang Zhengfeng pause.
They struck a chord with him. For some reason, he found them very comforting.
Jiang Zhengfeng sighed. ’If only that brat could think that way, too.’
