My Horny Stepmom Turns Me into Her Vampire Slave

Chapter 266: B - Beyond marriage

Chapter 266: B - Beyond marriage

"Our perfect plan... was a complete failure! I can’t believe it!" Irina grumbles, letting her forehead drop heavily onto the table.

She looks utterly devastated.

"Our plan...? That was your plan! You did everything on your own!" Hakuto fires back.

"And yet, the hand that grabbed her ass was yours!"

"You’re the one who moved it!"

Irina shakes her head.

"And you let me do it without putting up any resistance!"

It’s dinnertime.

Irina and Hakuto are sitting at the table, eating, while Claire sits silently beside them.

"I hope you’re not actually buying into the nonsense your perverted little sister is spouting!" Hakuto blurts out, turning to Claire.

Claire, who has been ignoring them all evening, suddenly turns bright red.

She glares furiously at Irina.

"S-So... y-you’re the one who made me dream about doing those dirty things with Hakuto...?!"

"Ooh... you dreamed about doing dirty things with Hakuto? What a pleasant surprise."

"D-Don’t play dumb! I know exactly what a succubus can do!"

"Oh, really? Then tell us. What exactly did you dream about?" Irina teases her.

"It was the night that idiot Hakuto... saved us from Itzu... He looked at me with that serious expression... came closer... touched me... started undressing me—" Claire abruptly cuts herself off, her cheeks burning. "Y-You know perfectly well what I dreamed about! You put it in my head!"

"Oh, Big Sis... do I really have to remind you that my vampire side is the dominant one...? Sure, I’m also a succubus, but I can’t use that kind of magic. Do you know what that means...?"

As Irina speaks, Claire’s eyes widen.

Her face turns deathly pale, as though she has just stared death itself in the face.

"...I didn’t choose to make you dream about Hakuto. It was simply your body’s natural reaction — your succubus side is overwhelmed by withdrawal and desire, and being touched in your sleep triggered it. That’s all."

Irina turns to Hakuto with a huge grin.

"Looks like that brave and noble side of yours got my frigid big sister all wet. We should get attacked more often!"

"Y-You’re talking nonsense!" Claire snaps, shooting up from her chair.

Her face burns with embarrassment, and she doesn’t even dare look at Hakuto.

"I-I’m going to take a bath! And you two better not do anything weird!"

Claire is about to leave when her phone suddenly lights up and chimes.

A message.

"Mom and Shin just landed in Osaka. They’ll be here in less than an hour," Claire murmurs after reading it.

An evil grin spreads across Hakuto’s face.

"Perfect."

◇◇◇

"By the God of Light, did a bomb go off here or what?!" Shin exclaims as he opens the front door.

The garden is still a complete wreck, riddled with craters and uprooted trees from Hakuto and Itsu’s battle.

The moment he steps inside, with Kagura right behind him, Shin freezes.

Hakuto is standing in the middle of the living room, gripping his diamond sword tightly. His right arm is encased all the way up to the shoulder in the same crystalline material.

Claire and Irina lie face down in a pool of blood.

Blood drips from Hakuto’s blade as well.

"H-Hakuto... what the fuck have you done...?!" Shin stammers, stunned.

Kagura drops to her knees, sobbing desperately.

Hakuto turns toward his father with a serious expression.

"They’re demons. I just found out. Even though we’re not part of HESPARC, as members of the Seiko family, it’s our duty to kill them."

Shin turns toward Kagura, and an evil grin spreads across his face.

"I think you’re right, my son. They’re demons, and as such, they must be erased from this world."

Shin extends one arm to the side, and a long sword of light materializes in his clenched fist.

Still on her knees, Kagura looks up at him in terror.

And then... SWISH!

The sword of light comes down on Kagura.

"NO, STOP!"

Claire’s desperate scream echoes through the room.

Shin freezes, stopping the blade a hair’s breadth from Kagura’s neck.

A moment later... Shin and Kagura burst out laughing.

Their three children stare at them, utterly dumbfounded.

"W-What... what the hell is going on...?" Hakuto mutters, his heart still pounding furiously in his chest after his father’s sudden move.

Shin shrugs and smirks.

"We were born thirty years before you three. Did you really think we’d fall for a trick like that?"

"We knew it was all an act from the very beginning. Besides, with that strong smell of tomato juice in the air, it wasn’t exactly hard to figure out. So we improvised a little prank of our own. In the end, you’re the ones who got fooled," Kagura adds, laughing so hard that she nearly cries.

She then gets back to her feet, her tone turning more serious.

"Shin and I had hoped this moment would come later, but I suppose it’s time we explained everything," she says, gesturing for the three of them to sit down.

"Why did you hide it from us?" Hakuto asks tensely. "Just a few nights ago, a lycan attacked us and tried to kidnap Claire and Irina! If I hadn’t been home, they wouldn’t be here right now!"

"Oh, so that’s what happened to the garden," Shin interjects nonchalantly.

But Kagura continues as if nothing happened.

"You’re right, Hakuto. But if I had told you from the very beginning that we were demons, you probably would’ve seen my daughters in a negative light. My wish, just like your father’s, was for the three of you to live a normal adolescence — without magic or battles. And if one day you discovered the truth, we hoped the bond between you would be strong enough for you to face it together and overcome it."

"You must have a pretty terrible opinion of me if you think something like that would’ve made me hate them. I cared about them before I knew, and I still care about them now!" Hakuto replies firmly.

"Hakuto’s right!" Claire cuts in, shooting to her feet. "We want the truth now! The whole truth!"

Kagura is about to speak, but Shin cuts her off before she can say a word.

"I’ll handle this."

Shin’s expression turns serious as well, and the sight makes Hakuto swallow nervously.

In his entire life, Hakuto has almost never seen his father take anything seriously. But on the few occasions he has, there has always been a very serious reason behind it.

"It all goes back to thirteen years ago. That number means something to you two, doesn’t it?" Shin asks, turning to Irina and Claire.

"Our father’s death..." Irina whispers.

Shin nods and continues.

"After your father died, your mother was left alone with the two of you, both still practically babies. As the former director of HESPARC Japan, my duty was to kill you for being demons who had entered Earth illegally. Finding you was easy. But when I pointed my sword at you..."

He lets out a long sigh.

"...you were practically the same age as my Hakuto. Claire, two years old. Irina, only one. So small and defenseless. I couldn’t help seeing his chubby little face in yours. I just couldn’t do it. So I helped you escape, betraying my own men in the process. The only reasons I wasn’t executed were my reputation and my position. It cost me everything... but I’d do it all over again. Especially now... seeing what absolute bombshells you two grew up to be."

Hakuto lets out a weary sigh.

The miracle of his father acting serious lasted all of ten seconds.

"The marriage, living together... Why now of all times?" Hakuto asks.

This time, Kagura is the one who answers.

"It was a decision Shin and I made together a few months ago. My daughters have reached the age when their powers are beginning to awaken. Powers that are difficult to control and even harder to hide. One mistake, and HESPARC would have found us. Or worse, someone else — someone interested in their hybrid nature. That’s why I asked your father to move in with us. Your protection in exchange for my financial support. And apparently, I brought you here just in time."

"So... in the end, are we just mercenaries?" Hakuto asks in a low, melancholy voice.

Kagura gently strokes his hair.

"No. We’re a family."

Once again, Shin is the one to ruin the mood.

"Oh, I almost forgot..." he says, turning to Hakuto. "I have a surprise for you! I’m sure you’re going to love it!"

"A surprise...? What is it...?"

Shin grins broadly.

"You’ll find out tomorrow morning."
