My Horny Stepmom Turns Me into Her Vampire Slave

Chapter 244: B - A truly special birthday party

Chapter 244: B - A truly special birthday party

"I hope that whole business with my mother has already been taken care of and is over with," I hiss at Frank Pyton irritably.

His enormous mansion is where Melania and I fled after our run-in with the Monster Slayer.

But this wasn’t a surprise visit — Frank was expecting us, even though we arrived much earlier than we’d agreed.

My plan to keep Melania from being taken away was to throw a small party here for her special day, and Frank even had a gazebo set up in the garden, complete with snacks and alcohol.

If he weren’t such a manipulative piece of shit, he could almost seem like a nice guy.

Besides me, Frank, and Melania, there are Frank’s two trusted henchmen — Joe Callhan and Philip Serghel.

And then there’s a man I’ve never seen before.

He looks to be in his forties, fairly tall and muscular, with long black hair falling over his shoulders and a striking handsomeness that even I can’t help but notice. The kind of man who makes you think: If I were a woman, I’d sleep with him without even asking his name first.

Although, to be fair, the only thing I actually know about him is his name.

Raelor Valraen.

And with that, all the preparations for the big moment are finally complete — we’re ready to give Melania’s father the welcome he deserves.

I’ve gotten a lot stronger, and I proved that just a few hours ago, but I have no idea how powerful Melania’s father might be. For all I know, he could be even stronger than Frank’s henchmen or Kimberly, so taking him on alone would’ve been insane.

But of course, Frank isn’t the kind of man who does anything without expecting something in return.

And what he wants is Melania.

Yeah, accepting his terms was insane, but I didn’t have a choice. If Melania’s father took her back to Elyndra, I’d never see her again, so I chose the lesser evil.

And incredibly enough, Melania agreed without even batting an eye.

I expected a lot more resistance, considering how badly she wanted to reunite with her father and leave the monotony of human life behind, but after a long private conversation with Frank, she changed her mind.

Who the fuck knows what he promised her.

"Don’t worry, Axel. There’s nothing more to it than what she already told you. I may be from another world, but I’m still a businessman, and meetings like that to grow my wealth are practically routine for me. It was pretty obvious that sooner or later I’d end up doing business with your mother, considering she’s the CEO of one of the most important companies in the world."

His perfectly logical and rational explanation calms me down just enough that I don’t feel the need to dig any deeper.

"You’ve recruited yourself a gorgeous succubus. My compliments, Oktavian," Raelor comments as he strokes Melania’s hair, curled up on his lap like a kitten.

He called him Oktavian too? It’s obvious those two must be pretty close.

From the moment she laid eyes on him, Melania hasn’t left his side for even a second.

It’s obvious she’s dying to fuck that guy, and how could I blame her? Compared to him, I look like a bag of trash... and that pisses me off way more than I ever thought possible.

Fuck... have I already been replaced?!

And to think she was the one who suggested we pretend to be a real couple! I even came inside her and risked my life for her...

...but then again, Melania is still Melania, and she’s acting exactly the same way she always has since the day I met her.

So why the hell should I be surprised? Or worse... disappointed?

"I have my dear Axel Lustsilk to thank for practically handing her to me on a silver platter. I’ll take very good care of her, and I’m sure she’ll soon become a key asset to my organization," Frank says from his seat across from Raelor.

"Lustsilk...? Oh, I see now..." Raelor comments, shooting me a brief sideways glance.

It’s only a fleeting look, but it’s still enough to send a shiver down my spine...

...though nowhere near as much as what Philip says to me.

"Oh, Axel, looks like your little friend has already found someone else to have fun with. But if you’re feeling lonely and want some company too, all you have to do is ask..."

"Cut it out, or I really will kill you."

"You must be pretty desperate to finally make a deal with us after turning us down so many times. Consider yourself lucky the boss decided to help you without demanding your services too, on top of Melania’s."

"He didn’t ask because he knew I would’ve refused."

The truth is, I’m bluffing.

I might’ve actually said yes if he’d asked, but after seeing Melania practically purring on Raelor’s lap... well, I definitely would’ve had second thoughts.

The deep toll of the clock atop the highest tower of Frank’s mansion cuts our conversation short.

It’s midnight.

"Well? Isn’t anyone going to wish me a happy birthday? Thirteen is a pretty important milestone for a succubus!" she grumbles, still curled up on the mysterious Raelor’s lap.

But no one pays any attention to her complaints.

Everyone’s eyes are fixed on the cloud-covered sky. Honestly, I don’t even know why I’m looking up too, but since everyone else is doing it, I follow their lead.

I guess that’s where Melania’s father is supposed to come from.

And sure enough, only a few seconds later...

FLASH!

A blinding violet light erupts above our heads, so intense that I’m forced to look away.

"Now the real party begins," Frank mutters with an amused smirk.

At the same time, Raelor slowly rises to his feet, completely indifferent to the fact that Melania is still sitting on him, sending her tumbling onto the grass.

When the violet glow finally fades, I look up again, and...

There he is!

A middle-aged incubus with long brown hair cascading softly over his shoulders and a pair of imposing violet wings.

His cold, stern gaze is fixed squarely on Melania.

"Melania Narkhalis, my daughter," he begins in a deep, authoritative voice, his gaze sweeping over everyone present one by one. "I am your father. My name is Malthus Narkhalis, and I’ve come to take you with me to Elyndra."

"Oh, really? Interesting," Melania murmurs, completely unfazed. "By the way, you know you’re pretty attractive? I’m not surprised you managed to knock up that frigid bitch who calls herself my mother. Unfortunately for you, though, my heart and my body already belong to someone else, and I have absolutely no intention of leaving them. You came all this way for nothing."

And I guess that someone else is Raelor.

Could he be the reason behind Melania’s sudden change of heart?

Ungrateful little slut...

Malthus looks shaken, but it isn’t just anger at being rejected. I catch something else on his face — something that looks a lot like fear.

And now that I think about it, his expression changed the instant his eyes landed on Raelor.

"R-Raelor Valraen... what are you doing here...?" Malthus stammers.

"That’s none of your business, Malthus."

Wait... if those two know each other, then Raelor is probably...

A powerful wave of violet energy erupts from Raelor’s body, dazzling arcs of violet electricity coursing over him from head to toe.

And that’s not all — enormous violet wings burst from his back, identical to Malthus’s.

Just as I thought... Raelor is an incubus! And judging by Malthus’s terrified reaction, he must be insanely powerful.

"You’re my daughter Zaira’s bodyguard! What you’re doing here is absolutely my business!"

"He’s talking too much, and his voice is giving me a headache," Melania mutters. "Raelor, shut him up for good. Come on. Get moving."

But Raelor doesn’t even look at her.

"I was asked to evaluate your daughter’s abilities as a succubus and prevent you from taking her away," Raelor says, calm and impassive. "Killing you wasn’t part of the deal, so I have no intention of doing it. Leave, Malthus."

"You can’t seriously expect me to do that! You’re preventing me from claiming my daughter — a sacred right of every incubus, one that no one should ever interfere with!"

Malthus then extends a hand toward Raelor, and a sphere of violet energy begins to form in his palm.

"I don’t care if it’s you, Raelor! No one gives orders to a member of the royal family!"

A devastating beam of energy erupts from Malthus’s hand and blasts toward Raelor with destructive force.

But Raelor doesn’t even flinch.

An explosion of electricity bursts from his body, spreading around him like a bubble and completely enveloping him, effortlessly blocking the devastating beam.

Then Raelor spreads his demonic wings wide.

The membranes begin to ripple and churn, almost boiling like pools of molten tar.

And a moment later...

Tentacles seemingly made from that very same substance burst from his wings and shoot toward Malthus so fast that the incubus is completely ensnared before he can even realize what’s happening.

Malthus thrashes wildly, unleashing massive explosions of energy, but it’s useless.

The tentacles’ grip doesn’t loosen even slightly.

"You made two mistakes, Malthus Narkhalis," Raelor says, staring straight into his eyes as the electricity surrounding his body grows fiercer, crackling violently. "The first was not running away the instant you saw me. The second was daring to challenge someone infinitely stronger than you. They say you learn from your mistakes... but unfortunately, you won’t get the chance."

Arcs of electricity race along the tentacles, surging from Raelor’s body into Malthus’s.

A bloodcurdling scream that makes my bones ache and my blood run cold tears itself from Melania’s father’s throat — but it lasts only a few seconds.

Finally, the tentacles retract, and Malthus’s charred, smoking corpse crashes to the ground with a dull thud.
