My Horny Stepmom Turns Me into Her Vampire Slave

Chapter 210: B - Date with… Kimberly?

Chapter 210: B - Falling-out

"Axel, listen. This is the last time I’m pretending to be your girlfriend. If Tyler saw us walking around Manhattan holding hands, he’d lose it. And honestly, I couldn’t even blame him. I’d be pissed too if I saw my boyfriend with another girl right after he told me he loved me," Naomi grumbles, clearly annoyed. "Just tell Kimberly we broke up. Besides, I don’t get why you’re dragging this out. The bet’s over, and you were the one who said you didn’t want anything serious with her."

Naomi and I are sitting on a bench in Times Square, waiting for Kimberly to show up for another date.

"Wow... thanks. Some best friend you are..." I mutter.

"If I wasn’t your best friend, I wouldn’t even be here with you, idiot! But there’s a limit, Axel. There’s a huge difference between being best friends, always being there for each other, hanging out, getting high, getting drunk at my place... and expecting us to keep having sex now that I have a boyfriend!"

Her voice grows more serious with every word.

"I realized it that night at the restaurant, when you followed me into the bathroom. Why did you do that, Axel? I felt like shit for the rest of the night, you know? But that’s on me. I should’ve set a boundary right away, but instead I kept going along with it, thinking you’d figure it out on your own sooner or later..."

"Didn’t look like you minded having my cock in your mouth or getting slammed against the wall while your precious Tyler was waiting for you at the table."

"I already told you, Axel. What happened that night was my fault — I won’t deny it. But the past is the past, so wipe that annoyed look off your face. If you were in a relationship, I’d never dream of coming between you and your girlfriend. So I expect the same from you."

"You’re acting exactly like those people who are only friends while they’re single, then disappear the second they get a partner!"

Naomi’s voice rises, and her face turns red with anger.

"Me? Disappear? Cut the bullshit! In case you forgot, someone’s supposed to come over to my place tonight to smoke — and that someone is you, asshole, even though Tyler wasn’t happy about it! We almost got into a fight over it, but I told him you’re a respectful guy and that you’d never even think about laying a finger on me. A lie — a fucking lie! But I didn’t have a choice if I wanted him to let me invite you!"

"Oh, so now you need permission from a guy you’ve known for less than a month just to invite a friend you’ve known for years? And what if he made you choose between me and him? Huh? Answer me!"

"I shouldn’t have to choose between either of you if you’d just get it through that thick skull of yours that he’s my boyfriend and you’re my best friend! Actually... maybe it’s better if we cancel tonight. From now on, we’d better avoid any situation that could be misunderstood, since you clearly don’t understand what I’ve been trying to tell you. Right now, I just want to be alone for a while. I’m sorry, Axel... but I don’t have the strength to spend another afternoon pretending to be someone I’m not. I... I can’t do this anymore."

Naomi suddenly gets up from the bench.

It’s obvious she’s about to leave, but I can’t let her go — not like this. Not before I tell her how I really feel.

I grab her wrist before she can walk away.

"Naomi, listen to me..."

She stands there in front of me without saying a word, staring into my eyes.

They’re filled with anger and disappointment.

The same look I’ve got, to be honest... except I’ve actually got every reason to feel this way. She doesn’t.

"I probably should’ve told you sooner, but... I love you, Naomi. I really do. I realized it when I saw you laughing and joking around with that guy. I don’t want to lose you, no matter what. I just needed you to know before you make any decisions..."

It probably sounds like some cheesy drama confession, but I’ve never been more honest in my life.

I love her. Deeply. Madly.

Just as much as I love Veronica.

I’d give my life for her... and this is what I get in return?

Getting pushed aside the moment the first guy who comes along shows an interest in her?

No. I don’t deserve that.

But her reaction isn’t what I expected.

Thin streams of tears run down her flushed cheeks.

"A-Axel... I thought I knew you, but I was completely wrong. And it all started that stupid night at my place, when I agreed to sleep with you... I thought it’d be fun after all the years we’ve known each other. But for me, it ended that very night. And when I told you not to get the wrong idea, I wasn’t joking — even if I never imagined things would end up like this. With all the girls and women throwing themselves at you... why me? Why play with my feelings? I never thought you’d sink this low — telling me you love me just because I stopped being your sex toy! I... I..."

Naomi breaks down into sobs.

"I’ve always seen you as more than just a friend, Axel! You were like a brother to me... and you ruined everything just because you’re selfish! It’s not fair! It’s not fair!"

"Like a brother? Pff... so you’d suck your brother’s dick? The truth is, I’m the one who got used, and if it weren’t for Tyler, none of this would’ve happened! You even went so far as to regret and deny every special moment we shared... even though, apparently, they were only special to me! You’re a slut — that’s what you are! A fucking slut who jumps from one dick to the next—"

SLAP!

Silence falls.

Not just between us, but all around us.

People keep walking through Times Square, pretending not to notice, quickening their pace after the sound of Naomi’s slap echoes across the square.

"How could you... how could you say something like that to me?!" Naomi screams. "You were the person I trusted more than anyone in the world. My one true friend! I would’ve died for you, and now you’re calling me a slut just because I don’t want to be your personal cum dump anymore?! You’re sick, Axel! You’re fucking sick! Take this as advice from a friend — get some help. And don’t you ever speak to me again! Goodbye, Axel!"

Naomi yanks her wrist free and runs off, disappearing into the crowd with tears streaming down her face.

Okay... maybe I went too far calling her that.

Just because she’s confused about what she wants doesn’t mean she deserves to be treated like shit.

Maybe I should’ve just gone along with her little lovestruck phase and waited for her to get tired of that guy.

Fuck... why do I always have to act before I think?

Either way, I can’t let our friendship end like this.

But just as I’m about to get up from the bench and run after her, an alarmed voice calls out from behind me.

Kimberly’s voice.
