Chapter 746 - 746: An Unexpected Guest
“I hope we won’t get pursued by the members of the Holy Church… I really don’t have the mood to kill anyone right now,” Valeria mumbled in a low voice as she gazed at the massive city in the distance.
“That’s definitely a concerning issue, but I don’t think they’ll try to mess with us so openly. That could easily backfire on them,” Aisha said with a soft chuckle. Still, she couldn’t help but share the same unease about how the Church might react.
“Even so, we can’t be too sure the Holy Church won’t try to cause trouble,” Yuan said with a serious expression as he stared at the city. “We have to be very cautious.”
He then turned to Aisha with a solemn look. “First of all, Aunt Aisha, you should enter the city alone—without us. This will lower the chances of an assassination or a surprise attack.”
“Once you’re inside, head straight to the Imperial Palace. We’ll meet you there. That way, the Church won’t even be able to guess our next move.”
He continued, “And make sure you use a concealment formation before you speak with anyone. I’ll give you both the formation and a special stone to activate it, since you don’t have enough spiritual energy.”
Yuan then retrieved a yellow talisman paper from his system storage, along with a small, low-quality Spirit Stone that would serve as the energy source to activate the talisman.
“When you meet with the Imperial Family, place this paper on the table and put this stone on top. It will activate a formation and create a soundproof barrier around you.” He handed the talisman and Spirit Stone to Aisha with a calm smile, then turned toward Princess Livia.
“You’ll stay with us. We can’t risk anything happening to you. The Church is still hunting you, after all, since you betrayed them.”
“I understand.” Princess Livia nodded with a soft sigh. She was incredibly excited to meet her family again.
However, she also knew how dangerous it could be if the Church discovered her attempt to reconnect with them. Even the slightest hint could bring danger to her entire family.
There was no way she would risk their lives just for a premature reunion. So, she kept her calm and decided to wait patiently—she would get her chance soon enough.
‘I hope they’re doing well… I just have to be patient and wait for the right moment,’ Princess Livia thought as she stared at the enormous city with an emotional look on her face.
Aisha looked at Yuan with a gentle smile, then glanced at Anna and Grace, flashing a mischievous expression before quickly turning back to Yuan.
“Dear, aren’t you going to give me something before I leave? After all, meeting the Imperial Family is quite risky for me—especially since the Holy Church will definitely keep a close eye on me.” Aisha spoke while looking directly into his eyes, her intentions clear. Yuan immediately understood what she was hinting at.
Yuan chuckled and gently pulled her into his arms. Then, bringing his face close to hers, he softly pressed his lips against hers, wrapping his arms around her waist in one fluid motion.
Aisha smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck, kissing him back with passion, surprising the others with her boldness.
Anna and Grace shook their heads as they watched their younger sister kiss their son so intimately. A small wave of jealousy passed through them, especially since Yuan had taken the initiative to kiss Aisha.
Still, they remained composed and allowed Aisha to enjoy the romantic moment. After all, Yuan seemed genuinely happy, and there was no denying that Aisha had already become one of his women.
“That was perfect…” Aisha whispered into his ear after ending the kiss, smiling from ear to ear, clearly pleased.
“Now, I’ll take my leave with Uncle Jones and meet the Imperial Family before you. Make sure you all arrive on time,” Aisha said before entering the carriage. Jones gave a respectful nod and drove the carriage forward.
“We will,” Yuan nodded with a smile before turning to face his wives.
“Now it’s time for us to head to the Imperial Palace. We’ll hover above it and wait until Aunt Aisha meets Livia’s family.”
“Absolutely! And if the Holy Church dares to interfere…” Valeria grinned widely, her eyes gleaming with bloodlust. “We won’t hesitate to destroy them all.”
Without waiting, Valeria grabbed Livia by the waist, and her sword began to levitate in the air. With a swift motion, she jumped onto the floating sword and soared toward the massive city.
Yuan followed shortly after—flying without the use of a flying sword. Fang Xiaoyan and Xi Meili did the same, flying freely beside him without any assistance.
It was as though the wind itself carried them. The sight of them gliding through the air like gods left Livia completely stunned.
‘They can fly like that too? How is this even possible? I’ve seen Yuan do it before, but those two as well? Are they just as powerful as him?’ Livia thought, her mind reeling in shock. She was completely speechless.
Before long, they arrived above the Imperial Palace and looked down just in time to see Aisha’s carriage entering the city through the main gate. The soldiers stationed there checked Aisha and Jones’s identities before allowing them to pass.
As soon as they entered the city, the carriage moved toward the Imperial Palace at an extremely fast speed. The streets were mostly empty, with very few people outside.
It was a stark contrast compared to the capital city of the Lionheart Empire. This place lacked the joy and warmth of life—it looked hollow, as though the people no longer wished to live here.
“I know this city is quite different from the capital of the Lionheart Empire, but this… this is something else entirely. It looks dead. There’s barely anyone around, and it lacks any sort of luster,” Emma mumbled in a low voice as she observed the city and its people from high in the sky.
With her Divine Sense, she could scan every corner of the city with ease. She was deeply surprised by what she saw—it was nothing like the image she had in mind.
And it wasn’t just Emma; everyone was equally shocked by the city’s condition.
In the past, before the Holy Church had extended its influence over the empire, this city had been full of life. Joyful smiles lit up the faces of the citizens, and business had been booming.
Merchants from across the continent would gather in the city square to sell their goods, and countless people would come here in search of work.
But that time had long since passed. Now, the city was nothing more than a hollow shell of its former self. Merchants now hesitated to come here, mainly due to the heavy tax imposed by the Holy Church.
Everything was controlled by the Church, and without its permission, no one could sell anything. If anyone dared to do so, they would be persecuted publicly by the Holy Church.
“Unfortunately, this is the current state of the empire. And the Holy Church is responsible for all of it. Their hypocrisy and greed have hollowed the empire from the inside out,” Princess Livia said, her voice filled with pain as she gazed down at the broken city. Her eyes turned moist with emotion.
She continued, “The Holy Church has ruined the empire. They killed tens of thousands of people—innocent people—just because they dared to speak out against the wickedness of the Church.”
“What happened to those people?” Yuan asked, curiosity flickering in his eyes as he looked at her with a puzzled expression.
“Killed,” Princess Livia replied with a painful expression. “They were all executed under the false accusation of consorting with demons and rebelling against God. The Church slaughtered them publicly… and even killed their families alongside them.”
“They even killed the children, even though they were innocent. The Holy Church is the real demon. They’re far worse than the devil himself!”
“I want nothing more than to see them destroyed. They must all pay for their sins!” Princess Livia muttered, her voice trembling with rage. Her eyes were red, burning with fury.
Yuan could clearly see the depth of her hatred for the Holy Church—and it was completely justified. Considering the vile and inhumane acts they had committed, her anger made perfect sense. The Holy Church portrayed itself as virtuous, but behind that façade was something far more sinister—they were the true evil in this world.
“I see… No wonder you despise the Holy Church so much. Everything makes sense now,” Valeria said with a firm nod, fully understanding Princess Livia’s pain. Then, her expression turned cold.
“But don’t worry. Their tyranny will come to an end soon.”
“After all, they dared to bare their fangs against the Lionheart Empire. And as the Princess of the Empire, it is my duty to eliminate any threat to my homeland,” she added with a vicious gleam in her eyes. Her voice was as cold and sharp as snow falling in a blizzard.
Meanwhile, Aisha arrived at the gates of the Imperial Palace and made a formal request to meet the Imperial Family at the front entrance.
After receiving her request, one of the guards asked her to wait, then quickly left to inform the Imperial Family of her arrival and her request for an audience.
Shortly after, the same guard returned and informed Aisha that the Imperial Family had agreed to meet her in the palace’s main living area. Without delay, the guard began leading her through the grand halls toward the designated location.
Aisha followed the guard and shortly arrived at the living area of the Imperial Palace, where the Imperial Family was already waiting for her.
At first, the Imperial Family had been surprised that someone from one of the Ten Great Families would request an audience with them—a declining Imperial Family that no longer had the authority to rule their own empire.
At the same time, they were also curious about the purpose of this unexpected visit. After all, the Ten Great Families typically avoided interacting with outsiders and rarely involved themselves in the politics of the world beyond their own circles.
“Lady Aisha, I wonder what brings you to my humble palace. After all, we have nothing worthy to offer the mighty Blank Clan,” the Emperor said with a curious expression as he studied Aisha, trying to grasp her intentions.
However, Aisha didn’t respond immediately. Instead, her eyes turned to the guard who was still present in the room.
“Isn’t it rude to eavesdrop on a private conversation between me and the Imperial Family? Are you unaware of your own standing?” Aisha asked coldly, her gaze sharp and filled with irritation.
She had instantly sensed that the guard was a lackey of the Holy Church and was clearly offended by his boldness—especially the way he stood there without showing the proper respect to the Emperor of the empire.
“Please forgive me, Lady Aisha. However, it is my duty to ensure the safety of the Imperial Family and remain at their side at all times. So, I must ask you to ignore my presence,” the guard responded with a slight, mocking grin.
Aisha’s lips curled in disdain at his reply. She clenched her fists and bit her lip, barely restraining the rage that surged within her at his disrespectful attitude.
“I said—leave us alone this instant, you lowly dog of the Holy Church! Do you even know who I am? How dare you speak my name with that foul mouth of yours?!” Aisha roared, her voice filled with fury.
The guard was visibly shaken as a powerful pressure erupted from Aisha, forcing him to tremble on the spot.
She continued, her voice laced with killing intent, “I said leave! And if you don’t disappear from my sight this instant—I will show no mercy!”
