Chapter 644: Chapter 644: Digestion

When the Starfire Elders, who were no strangers to luxury, saw Li Yao putting piles of valuables into the treasury, their eyes turned red with envy.

“Wow, what a fortune! Thunder Element Essence! My god, I’ve been looking for this for a long time. I have a new Totem quest and this is the missing key component. I’ve been searching for it for so long to no avail.” When she saw Li Yao putting a set of two hundred Thunder Element Essences into the warehouse, Dumb Dumb’s eyes filled with astonishment.

Setting the permissions, Li Yao said, “I’ve given the permission. You can take as many of these essences as you need.”

“I don’t need that much. Eight will be enough. I’m lucky you prepared two for me,” Dumb Dumb said enthusiastically.

Li Yao nodded and said, “We have plenty of materials, blueprints, and skills here. Everything I got was for free, so don’t hesitate to use it if you need it.”

The Guardian Angel laughed heartily. “I’ve been waiting for you to say that. I actually need something, so I won’t be shy.”

“Alright, if you need anything, just have Sister Li or Feng Yi grant you access,” Li Yao said, putting the last set of items in the warehouse.

“Now you understand the wealth of a top guild, huh? Don’t underestimate the small member pool of Prosperous Era. Their numerous subsidiaries and gold farming groups have a staggering number of members. With that many people, they can always get hold of quality items and materials,” said the Unparalleled Enchantress.

Li Yao nodded. Even with bad luck, they would still stand a chance of obtaining quality items with a high quantity of members.

“You guys can divide them. Materials and skills are meant to boost our abilities. There’s no use in letting them mold away in the warehouse,” Li Yao said earnestly.

In his view, materials, skills, etc., were no different from currency. They can only show their value through circulation.

If one had good materials but was reluctant to use them, or sold them for a few more credit points, they would never be able to become a top player.

With good items and improved abilities, they could kill more formidable bosses, visit better places for training, and obtain better items. That’s the virtuous cycle.

Everyone nodded in understanding. They had been cooperating for a long time, forming a harmonious large family.

They naturally wouldn’t be shy with Li Yao, and of course, Li Yao wouldn’t hold anything back from them either.

“By the way, big brother, are you going to participate in the Networking Era event?” Dumb Dumb asked eagerly.

“I probably won’t have time to participate in the early stage,” Li Yao shook his head. He had been leveling up too fast recently and hadn’t fully assimilated yet.

With the arrival of the 20-level era, corresponding materials became more plentiful. Li Yao’s secondary occupations needed to be enhanced. His pets also required upgrades. With all the good items he had obtained, he had to utilize them efficiently.

He also had a lot of leftover tasks, like the remaining Creator’s Equipment, Bloodline Connection skill, and the Archangel’s wings.

Especially the wings, to his knowledge, were related to the later half of the Era event. However, in his previous life, he hadn’t done the mainline mission and had forgotten how others did it.

“Killing specified monsters and completing event missions can grant varying degrees of experience buffs. Also, there are event-specific equipment and items. It’s a pity if you don’t participate,” Dumb Dumb said disappointedly.

“Those event missions are annoying and rely heavily on luck. Even if I participate, I might not get quality items,” Li Yao shook his head. There were definitely good items in these events, but the odds of obtaining them were too slight.

The so-called Networking Era aimed to establish an ultra-fast network across the galaxy under the United Earth Federation, virtually eliminating internet delay. The release of such a host marked the beginnings of the Ancient God host.

If Li Yao remembered correctly, during his previous life, some people completed the event tasks, obtained the event gift pack, and opened up quite a lot of good stuff. Mounts and equipment were just the starters.

The most astonishing reward was the Pangu Teleportation Disk, an incredible item that allowed the user to set coordinates and teleport anywhere in the Ancient Gods’ realms.

“So, what are you going to do?” Dumb Dumb wasn’t ready to give up.

“I’ll absorb and utilize everything I’ve gathered during this period. Don’t worry, it won’t be long before we can play together,” Li Yao said with a smile.

“Alright, it’s a deal, then,” Dumb Dumb said, extending her pinky finger.

Li Yao laughed and did the pinky promise with her, then said, “The guild’s base is mostly built. Let’s take advantage of this event to upgrade it to level 2, striving to reach level 3 or even turn it into a town before level 30.”

“I’ll do my best. With the experience buff, leveling up during this period won’t be that difficult,” Sister Li said.

Li Yao nodded and headed straight to his exclusive Lord’s Manor. Though it was called a lord’s manor, it was actually just a well-equipped courtyard.

There were stables, a backyard, and the best part was a two-story wooden house. Even though Li Yao thought it was pretty crude, it was the best building in their current base.

Ignoring the life-profession players busy in the stables and other places, Li Yao went straight into the small building.

This was his private space, accessible only by him and Feng Yi.

All the elders were assigned individual courtyards. Aside from leveling up and guild affairs, they were all busy building and cultivating their homes.

Li Yao was not in the mood for that. He dove headfirst into the Engineering Laboratory.

This was his personal laboratory, separate from the guild’s.

The first thing Li Yao did was start practicing advanced engineering. He had only recently reached the advanced level, and to achieve the master level, he needed a horrifying 10,000 skill proficiency points.

What’s worse, unlike in the past, crafting appropriate engineering items didn’t necessarily increase his skill proficiency anymore.

In the following days, Li Yao worked tirelessly on crafting, with Feng Yi bringing him the materials he needed and taking away the items he produced.

Li Yao tried to produce items that were useful for himself or the base. After nearly ten days, he spent almost five thousand Gold Coins and a lot of guild-provided materials to raise his skill level to Advanced 3000/10000 points.

The higher the level, the greater the cost. For ordinary players, reaching Li Yao’s progress would be near impossible.

Even top guilds wouldn’t spend such a hefty price to train an advanced engineer.

Usually, they would wait until the level cap was raised and the materials became cheaper to make a run for it.

Only Li Yao would rush to advance during the time when materials were at their highest price. Yet, it was all worthwhile. Ordinary engineering items that he needed could be produced in the guild’s laboratory, sparing him the effort. He only needed to create some top-notch items, for example, when he reached 3,000 points in the Advanced level, he could start to enhance various Attribute Arrows and ammunition. These enhanced arrows and ammo became special items only he could use.

This was one of the bonus benefits of learning engineering, like the ability to revive special items while learning Enchantment, or learning unique self-Enchantment recipes…
