Chapter 575: Chapter 302: The Su Family Wants to Contribute?

By the time Chen Kaishan emerged from the Array, Token in hand, ready to message headquarters to ship in building materials, three days had already passed since the eight Chiefs of the Da Yi Commerce Association had left.

However, Chen Kaishan had barely stepped out of the Array when personnel from the Da Liang Military Camp, located next to the Commerce Association’s transit station, noticed his appearance at once.

And so, before any of the other powers had a chance to react, Chen Kaishan was very politely invited by Su Ze’s men into a military tent.

Su Ze looked at the slightly guarded Chen Kaishan before him and introduced himself with a smile, "I am Su Ze of the Su Family, and the Director of the Six Paths Reincarnation Bureau."

Chen Kaishan’s heart skipped a beat when he heard this. The man before him was the head of the Six Paths Reincarnation Bureau, an organization whose very name once made countless Martial Artists tremble in fear.

In its day, the Six Paths Reincarnation Bureau supervised Martial Artists from the Noble Families and other factions, as well as those who caused trouble among the common folk. Its fearsome reputation was widespread, making any Martial Artist who wished to cause trouble think twice. ’I never thought I’d meet him in a place like this.’

Chen Kaishan politely clasped his hands in a salute. "I am Chen Kaishan, Chief of the Da Yi Commerce Association’s branch in Jade Peak Immortal City. May I ask what important business you have with me today, Director Su?"

He understood perfectly well. Leaving aside the man’s status, his level of Cultivation alone meant Chen Kaishan could not afford to be disrespectful.

Su Ze maintained his smile, as warm as a spring breeze, and spoke slowly. "Chief Chen, you must be well aware of why all the different powers have gathered here. As things stand, you are the only person who can freely enter and exit the Immortal City. I take it you’ve come out this time to bring supplies back in?"

Chen Kaishan had no intention of hiding it and nodded frankly. ’There’s really no need to conceal something like this,’ he thought.

A brilliant smile spread across Su Ze’s face. He clasped his fists. "In that case, I wonder... might I accompany you the next time you go inside? It would be just me, of course. And if anything were to happen after we’re in, I would take full responsibility. Consider it a personal favor I would owe you. What do you say?"

Chen Kaishan frowned slightly at his words, then shook his head and replied seriously,

"My apologies. It isn’t that I’m unwilling to help, but if I were to bring you in privately, without Mr. Cheng’s permission, I fear he would misunderstand.

"As you know, Mr. Cheng is in control of the Immortal City. Should he decide to strike you with a bolt of heavenly lightning, I fear you would be killed on the spot, Director Su. I understand your desire to enter the Immortal City, but it is currently undergoing a massive overhaul. Mr. Cheng is extremely busy. Even if you got inside, it would be very difficult for you to see him.

"The eight Chiefs from the Da Yi Commerce Association were also unable to meet with Mr. Cheng. In the end, I had to relay the message for them, and only then did they leave to prepare the supplies."

This sent Su Ze into a thoughtful silence. After a moment, he asked again, "Thank you for the warning. Do you know what kind of renovations are being done inside?"

Chen Kaishan was stunned for a moment, but his mind caught up in the next instant. He looked at Su Ze and marveled to himself. ’He truly is the Su Family’s most brilliant prodigy. That reaction time, that ability to seize an opportunity... truly incredible.’

After a moment’s thought, Chen Kaishan said, "Director Su, I will pass on your kind offer to Mr. Cheng. However, the final decision still rests in his hands.

"The reconstruction of the Immortal City requires a vast amount of materials and manpower. We don’t need to worry about manpower, but materials are in urgent demand. The Da Yi Commerce Association can ship them, but that will take time.

"But I imagine if you, Director Su, could provide substantial support with building materials, Mr. Cheng might consider granting you an audience."

For him, doing Su Ze this favor was as simple as passing along a message. But for Su Ze, that message could change a great deal.

Su Ze’s heart leaped with joy. He said quickly, "Then I must thank you, Chief Chen. The Su Family will spare no effort to provide the best building materials and any other support needed. All for a chance to meet him."

Chen Kaishan nodded. "Very well. I will inform Mr. Cheng of this as soon as possible. Let’s hope for a positive outcome."

With that, Chen Kaishan rose, took his leave, and went to arrange for the transport of materials and to message his headquarters.

Renovating an entire County Town would require an astronomical amount of building materials. The Su Family could leverage Da Liang’s resources to supply them, and his own Da Yi Commerce Association was more than capable of shipping them in from all over.

Su Ze watched Chen Kaishan’s departing figure, his heart filled with anticipation.

’This is a rare opportunity,’ he thought. ’The Su Family must seize it.’

And so, he immediately sent messages to both the Su Family and Emperor Liang, explaining the reason for his request. He told the Su Family to use Da Liang’s full backing to gather building materials with all their might and await the call.

He wasn’t the least bit worried about whether Emperor Liang would give his permission.

The Su Family and the Royal Family were tightly bound. The Su Family was the Royal Family’s sword; the sharper the sword, the more secure the Royal Family. Besides, Emperor Liang was a brilliant monarch, not one to grow jealous of the talented and capable, so Su Ze had no worries.

Within a day, Chen Kaishan had moved a large quantity of supplies from the transit station warehouse into the Immortal City, all while avoiding being found by personnel from the other powers. He then waited at the entrance to the Array.

Once all the supplies were inside the Array, Chen Kaishan had his people on the inside transport them to the Commerce Association. He then went to see Cheng Zongyang, ready to convey Su Ze’s intentions.
