Chapter 1838 - 1355: Earth Abyss

Earth Abyss Realm, Harpy City.

From the name alone, it’s clear that the main inhabitants of this Void Realm creature populace are Harpies. Though referred to as Void Realm creatures, Harpies in the Void Realm have already gone extinct, the original Harpies were an upper race residing in the Ruby Mountain, their juvenile strength at the level of gold, adolescent at the Holy Domain, adult legendary, and full form could even surpass legends, approaching demigod status.

The Ruby Mountain was not only a holy land that mages yearned for but also a paradise that Void Realm creatures aspired to.

However, now the Ruby Mountain is barren with only mages fighting internal battles, not even a single rat. Evidently, our predecessors and sages had no interest in protecting endangered species.

Though many mages believe Void Realm creatures are the evil monsters that hinder their exploration of the Void Realm, wishing for them to go extinct, but if seen from the perspective of Void Realm creatures, it becomes clear that mages are a terrifying species—appearing randomly in their homeland; powerful enough, at least, to slaughter the younglings of their race; lacking pain sensation, incapable of communication, enjoying the plunder of their accompanied Technique Spirits; even if killed, they don’t die, can return to the Void Realm after resting for months; most importantly, their numbers are in the thousands, capable of endlessly invading your home, while you find it difficult to counterattack mages’ stronghold in reality.

If Void Realm creatures had civilization, mages would undoubtedly be equivalent to the ’Demon Race’ or ’Catastrophe Army’ in fantasy tales.

There are mages who mercilessly seek the extinction of Void Realm creatures, naturally, there are also mages who pursue coexistence with Void Realm creatures, such as the Lord of Infinite Abyss.

During the time Igula followed the All-knowing Weaver, he heard many secrets about the Divine Lords: the Imaginary Music Master was a bald violent ascetic in the past and once vowed to clear Hell, killing so many demigods from Hell that they dared only to hide; until thousands of years later when Igula set foot in Hell, Hell still hadn’t recovered its vigor from those days; the Extreme Master of Blood Moon usually sleeps with a Lolita appearance, reviving his Blood Saint Moon Shadow form only when needing to meet others, plus his hobby is culinary arts, being the best chef among the Divine Lords...

Only two individuals were never badmouthed by the All-knowing Weaver, one was Dazzling Star, whom she didn’t dare to; the other was Senluo, when Igula tentatively asked if there were any interesting stories about Lord Senluo, the All-knowing Weaver smiled and skipped the topic.

In the eyes of the All-knowing Weaver, the Lord of Infinite Abyss is considered one of the most explosive levels among the Divine Lords. He is of the Human Race but detests humans the most, loves dogs the most, his subordinates are basically of non-human races, earning him the title of a Divine Lord with boundless love for different races.

It is said that the Lord of Infinite Abyss is an orphan who drifted to the Sea of Knowledge and was raised by a Fish-Slicing Dragon. He still holds the record for the youngest to become a mage—he was a Silver Mage at just three years old. The later story was both exciting and monotonous; he was framed by others, ending up adrift in the Sea of Knowledge, during which he recognized the despicableness and shamelessness of humans, and remarked on the sincerity and goodness of Void Realm creatures, thus viewing himself as one of the Void Realm creatures, fighting the tyranny of mages as a mage.

His rise was also the fastest among the Divine Lords, as if the Void Realm finally found this mutated virus cell to counteract the viral cells, so they quickly nurtured him to eliminate other mages. However, the more the Lord of Infinite Abyss grew, the more he realized the limitations of Void Realm creatures, for them to monopolize the Void Realm, this gold mine was an impossibility, and guarding the Void Realm would only lead to extinction. The only way out was to leave the Void Realm, proliferate on earth, and then join the mages!

Mages are not a race, but a force driving the era forward. To resist the tide of the times, who else but Void Realm creatures would face extinction?

The Lord of Infinite Abyss expended countless resources to gradually migrate many Void Realm populace to the Underground World, not only to avoid competition with mage civilization but also because the Underground Abyss was more suitable for the Void Realm creatures. The Abyssal aura merged with the Void Realm populace, coupled with thousands of years of cultivation and selection by mage civilization, now the Void Realm populace is vastly different from their ancient counterparts.

For instance, Igula now sees Harpies flying over the city. Their feathers, be it white or black, are uniformly smooth and athletic, with slender waists and elegant bosoms, good looks, resonant voices, full and powerful thighs, the most non-human part being from the knee down, with claws, but they also use many accessories and bandages to adorn themselves, appearing not ugly but filled with non-human allure.

The real Harpies wouldn’t cater to human sexual quirks this much. However, as a compromise, the Harpies in the Earth Abyss Realm are among the weakest races. Juvenile Harpies are almost indistinguishable from human babies. If a mage chooses to parasitize with a Harpy, other than ’flight’ and ’claws’ there are virtually no other effective traits, besides an appeal with no other assistance, starting line behind those mages partnering with Fox Lamp Dragons, Shadow Evil Dragons, or even Fish-Slicing Dragons.

But because Harpies have lost many of the Void Realm’s gifts, now many Harpies are born without accompanied Technique Spirits—having no such spirit means the Void Realm does not recognize them as Void Realm creatures—so they can perform Void Resonance, summoning Technique Spirits, essentially becoming mages.

Perhaps in a few hundred years, there will be no Void Realm race Harpy, only mage races of Harpies, just like Beastmen, Goblins, and Ogres becoming integrated into mage civilization.

"The paradise here is so interesting!" Harvey’s voice echoed in Igula’s mind, "We’ve finally toured the six nations, it’s a pity Ash isn’t here."

"If Ash were here, we’d either be captured by the Four Pillars God Sect or hunted as targets of it; there are no other possibilities," Igula replied, "Sometimes I even think he treats the Four Pillars God Sect as a local friend-making agency."

"Why hide the ’Unity Line’?" Harvey asked, "Currently, the six nations don’t have a way to communicate across phases, establishing a communication channel with them would be much more convenient."

"There’s no need, anyway, we’ll return to the Star Bridge Hall once we complete the task, then we can check on their task situation."

"It’s just your obsession with cleanliness, not wanting strangers connecting to your mind, but it’s understandable. Even my family, freshly steeped in preservative, wouldn’t want strangers touching them... but they’re not strangers, they’re Ash’s trusted companions, and Hanna and Black Crow are our acquaintances too."

"Silver Lamp is now also Ash’s trusted companion, can you trust her blindly?"

Harvey took a moment to think, "No, I’d rather trust Vishi than trust her. At least we’ve fought alongside Vishi, but Silver Lamp has always appeared as an enemy, sometimes I wonder when did she and Ash even..."

"You might as well be curious about how he hooks up with female college students from the Kingdom of Stars at a distance," Igula said, "Ash is Ash, and we are us. I’ve advised him many times, but if he’s determined to be a garbage collector, I must respect another’s fate and let go of my impulse to help. If this time the All-knowing Weaver and Extreme Master of Blood Moon aren’t dead, we’ll head back quickly, and the matter of ascending the Divine Lord will be discussed slowly, watching his romantic war from a safe distance."

"It can’t be that bad, the atmosphere was fine at yesterday’s meet-up, wasn’t it?"

"That’s because they still have a final goal. Once Ash truly becomes the Master of Void Realm... if the four Divine Lords in Heaven are the Regular Army, then the six legends earlier are at least the reserve team. Plus, Ash probably promised that once this matter is settled, he would protect them to ascend to demigod status, then awaits the grand sealing of the six nations we are anticipating... I can’t wait to spectate with the All-knowing Weaver’s Black Curtain."

"But even if they ascend to demigod status, they wouldn’t dare oppose the Divine Lords, would they?"

"Didn’t you smell the special scent just now?"

"The scent of death? I didn’t smell it."

Igula sighed internally, "What kind of organ do you have... it’s the scent of conspiracy. Even before the end battle concludes, someone is already eyeing the spoils."

Harvey replied, "May I ask what organ you use to smell conspiracy, I’ll keep it for collection during dissection."
