Chapter 91: Chapter 91 He wants to be my friend?
"Can you teach me some sign language?" Mona asked, her eyes bright. "I’ve always wanted to learn. It seems like such a beautiful way to communicate."
Daisy’s eyes widened. She stared at Mona, momentarily frozen.
She nodded quickly, a wide smile spreading across her face. She wrote in her phone.
Yes. I would love to teach you.
Mona clapped her hands together. "Great! We can start tomorrow. Teach me something simple first. Like my name."
Daisy thought for a moment, then gestured. She signed the letters M-O-N-A, moving her fingers carefully.
Mona watched intently, then tried to copy the movements. Her first attempt was clumsy but Daisy nodded encouragingly and guided her hands gently.
Like this, she gestured, correcting the angle of her palm.
Mona tried again, slower this time. "Is that right?"
Daisy smiled and gave her a thumbs up.
Ace watched the exchange, a soft smile on his face.
By the time lunch ended, Daisy felt like she had known Ace and Mona for years.

The rest of the day passed in a blur of learning and observation. Daisy absorbed everything Ace showed her, her notebook filling with notes and sketches.
At the end of the day, just as she was packing up her things, a message came from the reception desk.
Ms. Winter, please report to the main office before you leave.
Daisy frowned, confused. She walked toward the main office, her heart beating slightly faster.
She knocked on the door and pushed it open.
Rafael sat behind the desk, his feet propped up on the corner, a wide grin on his face.
Daisy’s eyes widened in surprise.
Rafael said, waving at her like they were old friends. "Hi, Daisy! I hope I didn’t scare you. I just wanted to say hi and check in on you."
Daisy blinked. She pulled out her phone and wrote.
You are Alessio’s brother, right?
Rafael grinned. "Yep. The cooler one. Although, between us, I’m also the handsomer one. But don’t tell Alessio I said that."
Daisy tilted her head, a small smile tugging at her lips.
Rafael leaned forward, his grin widening. "You know, Alessio talks about you all the time. He always tells me about how kind you are and beautiful. He really likes spending time with you."
Daisy’s eyes widened. She wrote quickly.
Really? He talks about me?
Rafael said smoothly. "Oh, absolutely. He’s just shy. You know how he is. Cold on the outside, but inside, he’s a softie. He actually told me he wants to be your friend. But he’s too nervous to say it himself."
Daisy blinked. Her cheeks turned pink.
He wants to be my friend?
"Of course! He doesn’t have any friends, you know. Just me and Mateo, his brothers. And we’re great, but you know... we’re his brothers. He needs an understanding friend. Someone like you. Someone who understands him."
Daisy looked down at her notebook. A small smile spread across her face.
That is sweet. I want to be his friend too.
Rafael’s grin widened. "See? I knew it. You two would be perfect together." He paused, then suddenly looked down at the papers on his desk. "Oh, I almost forgot why I called you here."
He pulled out a survey form and slid it across the desk toward her.
"I hope you found our environment good. Can you fill this survey? It’s for new employees. Just suggestions and feedback. No pressure."
Daisy looked at the form. Simple questions about her experience, the workspace, her team.
She nodded and took the form, pulling out her pen.
As she filled it out, Rafael leaned back in his chair, watching her with a satisfied expression.
He had done his part.
Now it was up to Daisy and Alessio to figure out the rest.
Well... although he still made sure to meddle to make the divorce happen between Cedric and Daisy.
Daisy typed on her phone.
Thank you for checking in on me. I will see you tomorrow.
She gave him a small wave and turned to leave.
"Wait!" Rafael called out, standing up from his chair. "I’m coming with you. I need to head out too."
Daisy blinked but nodded, walking beside him as they made their way out of the building. The sky was painted in shades of orange and purple, the sun slowly dipping below the horizon.
And then she saw him.
Alessio was waiting by a sleek black car, parked just outside the entrance. He was leaning against the driver’s side door, his phone pressed to his ear, his attention focused on whoever was on the other end of the line. His posture was relaxed but alert, the way he always seemed to be, like a predator at rest.
He was wearing a gray turtleneck that hugged his broad shoulders and a pair of black trousers that emphasized his lean, powerful frame. A pair of black sunglasses rested on his face, shielding his eyes from the fading light. His dark hair was slightly tousled, as if he had been running his fingers through it.
He looked like he had stepped out of a magazine.
Seeing them approach, Alessio ended his call and slipped his phone into his pocket. He took off his sunglasses, revealing those sharp green eyes that always seemed to see right through her. The fading light caught the edges of his face, softening his usually hard features.
Daisy smiled at him. It was a small, warm smile, genuine and soft.
Alessio blinked, clearly caught off guard by her expression.
Rafael said, his voice bright and cheerful. "Daisy, are you going home alone? Let us drop you! It’s no trouble at all."
Daisy shook her head quickly and gestured with her hands, trying to explain that she could take a cab, that it was fine that she didn’t want to be a burden. Her movements were quick and slightly flustered, her cheeks warming.
But Rafael was already opening the back door of the car. "Come on, get in. It’s safer this way. We insist."
Daisy hesitated. She looked at Alessio, searching his face for some sign of objection. His expression was unreadable, his green eyes steady and calm. He said nothing. He just stood there, his gaze fixed on her.
She gave in and slid into the back seat.
The leather was cool and smooth beneath her. The interior of the car smelled faintly of sandalwood and something clean, something that reminded her of him.
Alessio got into the driver’s seat, and Rafael climbed into the passenger side, his grin wide and satisfied.
The car pulled away from the curb, and the city lights began to blur past the windows.
Rafael stretched his arms above his head and glanced at his brother. "Bro, what’s going on? You’re wearing sunglasses today? That’s not like you."
