Chapter 159 We have him
Chapter 159: Chapter 159 We have him
Rafael shook his head.
"Whatever."
He looked back at the frightened spy.
"Let’s finish this quickly. I have dinner waiting for me."
The man stared at him in disbelief.
"You’re... you’re going to have dinner after this?"
Rafael looked genuinely confused.
"Of course." He shrugged. "What? Spies don’t make me lose my appetite."
The men behind him exchanged glances.
Rafael smiled again, his eyes cold.
"Now, tell me everything. Otherwise..."
His smile remained perfectly calmbut something in his gaze made the man’s blood run cold.
"Otherwise, I’ll have to get creative."
After dealing with the spy, Rafael washed his hands and finally stepped out of the private room. He dried his hands on a small towel and tossed it aside. He had intended to leave the bar immediately. The matter was finished and he had no reason to waste the rest of his evening there.
But as he walked through the dimly lit area, his eyes casually scanned the space.
Then he stopped.
His eyes widened slightly.
Cedric.
Rafael stared at him for a moment, almost wondering if he had seen the wrong person. But no. There was no mistaking that face.
"...Well, well."
He had been about to leave. Now he suddenly had a very good reason to stay.
Rafael’s gaze shifted toward the woman sitting beside Cedric. It wasn’t Jessica. He knew Jessica’s face well enough, her red hair, her sharp features. This woman was different. She had dark hair and was sitting very close to Cedric, speaking comfortably with him.
Rafael’s eyebrows lifted.
"Who’s that?"
He watched as the woman leaned closer, her hand brushing against Cedric’s arm. Cedric seemed distracted, his gaze distant but he wasn’t pushing her away either. He wasn’t pulling her closer, but he wasn’t rejecting her presence either.
Rafael’s curiosity deepened. He hadn’t come here looking for Cedric but now that he had accidentally found him, there was no way he was simply going to walk away. This was too interesting to ignore.
He looked around and noticed a dark corner near the side of the bar, slightly hidden behind a decorative partition. It was the perfect spot to observe without being seen.
Perfect.
Rafael walked over and sat down. A man was already occupying the seat nearby, nursing his drink. Rafael looked at him with dangerous look. He didn’t say anything. He simply let his gaze do the talking.
The man immediately understood and quietly moved to another seat, leaving Rafael alone in the shadows.
Rafael smiled.
"What a cooperative gentleman."
He settled comfortably into the shadows and picked up a drink from the table. He didn’t drink it. He just held it, using it as a prop.
He glanced back toward Cedric. Then he narrowed his eyes.
"Now, let’s see what you’re doing."
The unknown woman leaned closer to Cedric, her lips moving as she spoke. Rafael couldn’t hear the words, but he could see her body language.
Rafael’s eyes narrowed further.
He studied her carefully, noting the way she touched Cedric’s arm, the way she smiled at him, the way her eyes never left his face. She was clearly interested in him.
Rafael leaned back in his seat, a slow smile spreading across his face.
This is going to be very useful information.
Rafael stayed much longer than he had originally planned.
At first, he was genuinely curious. He wanted to know who the woman beside Cedric was, what their relationship was and whether there was anything suspicious going on.
So he sat quietly in the dark corner, occasionally taking a sip from his drink while keeping his attention fixed on the other table. His eyes never left Cedric’s figure, watching every movement, every gesture.
Ten minutes passed. Then twenty. Then almost an hour.
Nothing happened.
Naomi kept talking to him, her lips moving animatedly, her hands gesturing as she spoke.
Cedric kept drinking, his responses minimal, his attention distant. There was no suspicious exchange. Just a man drinking and a woman talking.
Rafael slowly lowered his glass. His expression had gone completely blank.
"...Seriously?"
He checked the time on his phone. He had wasted nearly an hour sitting here. For this.
He looked back at Cedric. Cedric was still sitting there as if he had nowhere else to be, staring at his glass like it held the answers to the universe.
Rafael’s eye twitched.
"You’ve got to be kidding me."
Rafael leaned back and sighed heavily. The amusement that had initially drawn him to stay had completely evaporated.
"Fine."
He picked up his phone and sent a short message to one of his men.
He wasn’t going to keep sitting there waiting for Cedric to accidentally reveal something. If Cedric wasn’t going to do anything interesting, Rafael would create his own entertainment.
A few minutes later, Rafael watched as Cedric finally separated from Naomi. His friends were distracted elsewhere in the crowded bar, and Cedric stepped away from the main lounge area alone, heading toward a quieter part of the club.
Rafael’s eyes followed him.
"Perfect."
He set down his glass and stood up, blending into the shadows as he followed Cedric’s path.
A few minutes later, when Cedric reached a quieter corridor, two men suddenly stepped in front of him.
Cedric stopped. His body tensed immediately.
"What?"
Before he could react, another man appeared behind him.
Cedric immediately became alert. His eyes darted between the three men.
"Who are you?"
Nobody answered.
He tried to step backward but one of the men grabbed his arm.
"What the hell?" Cedric fought back instinctively. His elbow connected with the man’s ribs, but another hand grabbed his shoulder.
The struggle was sudden and rough. He managed to push one man away but another grabbed him from behind, locking his arms.
"Let me go!"
Within moments, Cedric was forced away from the nightclub and taken through a private exit. The sounds of the club faded as they pushed him into a dimly lit alley, then into a waiting vehicle.
His phone vibrated.
One short message appeared.
We have him.
Rafael looked at it, a faint smile appearing on his face.
"Good."
He slipped the phone back into his pocket and walked out of the club.
