Chapter 101 Girls’ problem
Chapter 101: Chapter 101 Girls’ problem
Daisy bit her lower lip, her fingers tightening around her notebook. She didn’t want to explain through gestures, didn’t want to draw more attention. Instead, she quickly opened her little pastel orange notebook and wrote two simple words.
Girls’ problem.
She turned the notebook toward him.
Ace read the words.
For a second, he looked confused, his brow furrowing slightly.
Then realization dawned on his face.
"Oh..."
His ears turned slightly pink. He immediately looked away, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. He had walked right into that one, hadn’t he?
"I... I understand," he said quickly. "You don’t have to explain."
Daisy smiled sheepishly and gave him a tiny nod, her cheeks still flushed.
Ace waved a hand, pretending nothing had happened. "Go ahead and continue your work. I’ll handle things here."
Daisy’s shoulders visibly relaxed. She smiled gratefully before returning to her workstation, feeling a little lighter.
Ace watched her leave before quietly muttering to himself.
"...Good thing I didn’t keep asking."
He had almost made the poor girl explain something that was already embarrassing enough. He shook his head and returned to his own work, determined to forget the entire conversation.
Daisy sat down at her desk and let out a quiet breath. She looked at her notebook, at the two words she had written, and felt her cheeks warm again.
But at least it was over.
At least no one else had asked.

Meanwhile, inside the executive office...
Alessio had returned to reviewing a stack of documents when a phone suddenly began vibrating on the couch.
Bzzz...
Bzzz...
The screen lit up for a few seconds before the call ended.
A second later, it started ringing again.
Alessio frowned, his pen pausing mid-stroke. His gaze shifted toward the couch, where the phone was buzzing insistently against the leather cushion.
Daisy’s phone.
She had forgotten it.
He set down his pen and stood up, intending to take it to the laboratory later. She would probably need it, and he didn’t want her to worry.
Just as he reached for it, the screen lit up once more. An incoming video call.
His eyes landed on the caller’s name.
Cedric ♡
Alessio’s fingers unconsciously tightened around the phone.
His jaw stiffened.
He didn’t understand why, but seeing the little heart beside Cedric’s name made an inexplicable feeling settle inside his chest. An uncomfortable feeling. Like something cold and sharp had lodged itself beneath his ribs.
He frowned at himself.
...Why should I care?
She was married. Of course she would save her husband’s contact like that. That was perfectly normal. That was what wives did.
Without another thought, he was about to place the phone back onto the couch.
Just then, his thumb brushed against the screen.
The phone unlocked instantly.
Alessio stopped.
"...No password?"
He looked at the home screen in surprise, his brows lifting slightly.
And a series of notifications slid across the screen.
Cedric ♡
Why aren’t you picking up my calls?
Another message.
Where are you?
Then another.
Why are you so busy?
Another vibration.
Send me your picture.
A few seconds later.
Right now.
More than ten unread messages filled the notification panel, all from the same contact, all demanding her attention, her time, her presence.
Alessio stared at them in silence.
His brows slowly furrowed, a deep crease forming between them. He read the words, each one more demanding than the last, and something cold settled in his chest.
He had no right to feel this way. She was married, and that was a fact he had repeated to himself more times than he could count.
But reading those messages, seeing the way Cedric commanded her attention like she was a possession, something about it made his blood run cold.
His gaze lingered on the screen for another second before he immediately locked the phone.
This wasn’t his business.
Whatever happened between Daisy and her husband had nothing to do with him.
Alessio slipped it into his pocket, intending to return it to Daisy when she finished work.
A second later...
Bzzzz...
The phone vibrated again.
He ignored it.
Bzzzz...
Another call.
His brows twitched.
The vibration stopped.
Only to begin again a few seconds later.
Bzzzz...
"..."
Alessio slowly looked down at his pocket.
Whoever dumbass was calling was unbelievably persistent.
With an annoyed sigh, he pulled the phone back out and placed it on his desk.
The screen lit up once more.
Cedric ♡
Another incoming video call.
Alessio’s expression turned colder.
Without hesitation, he pressed the side button and switched the phone to silent mode.
The endless buzzing finally disappeared.
Silence.
He leaned back slightly in his chair.
"...Peace."
For the first time in several minutes, his office became quiet again.

Later that evening...
The laboratory staff gradually began leaving for the day. The hum of equipment faded, replaced by the sound of footsteps and quiet goodbyes. Daisy packed up her notebook and said goodbye to Mona and Ace with her usual warm smile.
Then she remembered something.
Her phone.
Her eyes widened.
She had forgotten it in Alessio’s office and also needed to retrieve her stained cloth bag.
She hurried upstairs, her steps quick and light. She stopped outside his office door and gently knocked.
"Come in."
Daisy slowly opened the door and stepped inside.
The moment she saw Alessio, she instinctively started to bow in greeting.
"Stop."
His voice interrupted her.
She froze halfway through the bow.
Alessio stood up from behind his desk, unable to help the faint sigh that escaped him.
"...Whatever you’re doing."
Daisy blinked innocently, still frozen in her half-bow.
He walked over to the desk, picked up her phone and held it out to her.
"You forgot your phone."
Daisy looked at it in surprise. Oh.
She accepted it carefully with both hands, hugging it lightly against her chest. Her phone was still warm from the vibrations earlier.
Her lips curved into a grateful smile.
She looked as though she was about to bow again.
Alessio noticed immediately.
"...Don’t."
She froze.
The corners of her lips twitched, trying not to smile.
Instead of bowing, she simply nodded obediently, her eyes bright with amusement.
Seeing that, Alessio gave a small nod of approval.
"...Much better."
