Chapter 1252: You’ll all pay for this…

Chapter 1252: You’ll all pay for this…

“Oh… shit—”

Those were the last words of Snowflake… at least that’s what she thought. But then her tail jerked violently, a sharp sting racing through it… and the golden-painted crystal on her forehead flared to life, glowing.

Everyone froze, blinking in disbelief.

Hadn’t they just seen that same white staff obliterate a dragon into pieces? And yet… this snake still stood?

Impossible!

Even the metallic figure seemed stunned, staring at the snake it had just struck.

“Hah… it tickles.” Snowflake let out a laugh.

She whipped her tail, aiming to smack the figure, but it caught it mid-swing. With a sudden twist, it spun furiously, dragging her helplessly before tightening its grip like iron.

Snowflake struggled to pull free, but the strength was overwhelming. The next instant, she was hurled high into the sky, her body cutting through the air.

“FUCCKKKK YOOOUUU!”

Snowflake’s voice roared through the clouds as she was flung away. Meanwhile, the metallic figure turned its masked face toward the white staff, its expression hidden but its confusion clear.

It stared at the weapon as though betrayed, unable to comprehend why it hadn’t worked as expected. Its focus slipped… and that was when Lia appeared, her blood-forged sword blazing with dangerous crimson light, slashing forward, ready to pierce its armour.

But before her strike could land, a metallic tail shot out, coiling around her waist… Orange light pulsed along its length.

Her sword vanished instantly as her connection to the arcane snapped. She turned her head back, only to find the same metallic figure, its tail snaking out of nowhere to bind her.

“What the hell do you want from me?” Lia spat. She twisted and strained, but nothing—her raw strength couldn’t even dent the grip crushing around her.

With a dismissive shrug, the muscular turned away from the snake, focusing on Lia instead. The white staff in its hand writhed unnaturally, shifting like a living serpent before reshaping itself into a gleaming sword.

Lia’s expression hardened, her fury burning in her eyes. Weakness was the last thing she would show.

The blade glowed with pure white energy, and as the weapon hovered dangerously close to her throat, she felt the heat radiating from it. It hadn’t touched her yet, but her skin already trembled, breaking in tiny fractures as though rejecting its very presence.

’Why didn’t it work on Snowflake?’ she thought bitterly… But against her… this was death itself.

Her teeth clenched as she squirmed, every muscle straining, yet the tail’s grip only tightened, squeezing the breath from her lungs. The sword lifted back slowly, gathering force. Lia’s eyes widened as she saw it pull into a deadly arc. She closed her eyes, bracing herself for the strike, every nerve screaming… but the blow never came.

Lia’s brows furrowed. She cracked her eyes open cautiously, and there she saw it…

A golden portal… massive, radiant, terrifyingly beautiful, unfurled above the battlefield, shimmering dangerously.

Every metallic figure stopped in its tracks. The one poised to kill Lia turned its head slowly toward the phenomenon…. Then, raising its hand, it commanded the others.

In unison, every metallic warrior dropped to one knee.

Even the one holding Lia bowed low, though its tail remained locked around her.

The figure that had raised its hand was clearly their leader. It moved with authority, pacing silently, issuing commands without sound. No voice carried through the air, yet every subordinate nodded, acknowledging its will. Check latest chapters at novel(ꜰ)ire.net

Then, with a single motion, they all pressed one hand against their chests, the metallic clang echoing.

The leader’s sword dissolved, melting back into strange white wires that coiled across its armoured frame.

It turned its faceless mask toward the one restraining Lia, then pointed a finger toward the direction where Snowflake had been hurled—its gesture clear.

Bring her back.

The figure nodded… then the Leader turned and, with one last glance at everything, stepped into the golden portal.

Very soon, everyone began packing their things and moving into the portal like cargo being loaded onto a ship.

The first items moved weren’t the captives or the monsters… but stony rocks and minerals they had collected from each empire.

Lia couldn’t understand why they were even taking such things, but that wasn’t important right now.

The tailed figure was too busy barking orders at the others.

“Let me go!!” Lia shouted, thrashing against the tail wrapped tightly around her.

The more she struggled, the tighter it constricted, glowing with pulsing orange light. She growled in frustration, but the figure ignored her, continuing to direct the others as they carried the packages into the portal.

One by one, everyone disappeared into that shimmering golden light…

“Are you guys seriously just going to walk in there and die?! Who knows what kind of nightmare is waiting for you inside?!” Lia screamed at the captives who shuffled in willingly after witnessing the overwhelming power on display.

But no one responded… They only lowered their heads, fists clenched tight.

Lia snorted, glaring at the tailed figure, who was now staring back at her with what almost looked like amusement.

Her lips twisted into a snarl. “You’ll all pay for this… if my mother finds out what’s happening here… she’ll kill every last one of you!!” Her body thrashed furiously against the coil.

The figure glanced down at her, and suddenly the tail sparked with violent energy.

“ARRHHH!!!” Lia screamed as a surge of electricity shot through her spine, tearing a cry from her throat before her body went limp and consciousness slipped away.

The tailed figure shook its head, as though pitying her… or mocking her weakness.

Just as the last of the figures were packing their things, mostly those captives and leaving one by one, the tailed figure stiffened.

Its eyes narrowed as a shadow fell across it.

Slowly, it raised its head toward the sky.

Hovering above was a white-haired figure in torn clothes, floating against the horizon. His hand stretched toward the heavens, and the air itself seemed to tremble in response.

Ssslllcckk~

Hundreds of jagged ice knives materialised, suspended in the storming sky.

“Die,” he said coldly, and with a sharp motion of his hand, the knives rained down like a deadly storm.

The tailed figure opened its mouth, screaming maybe…. but no sound came out. Around them, the other metallic beings flinched, but before they could even move an inch, the first blades struck.

Thuck!

Thuck!

Thuck!!

Thuck!!

The sound echoed like rain slamming against stone, each impact driving through metal skulls.

Chaos erupted instantly. The figures scattered, running like ants caught in a sudden downpour.

The tailed figure leapt back and forth with desperation, moving as swiftly as a wild cat. But even with such speed, the ice knives hitting its body almost closed… it was clear—it was struggling to keep up.

There was no scream at all—only the hurried stampede of footsteps and the relentless sound of knives piercing skulls.

That was all.

The captives stood frozen, shocked and wide-eyed. None of them had expected someone to come to their aid.

When the rain of blades finally ceased, the ground was littered with ice shards and metallic corpses. The few survivors scattered, hiding like cowards. Some abandoned all sense of pride and ran headlong toward the portal, caring for nothing but their own lives.

The tailed figure’s gaze followed them briefly before snapping back toward the heavens in fury.

But the white-haired man was no longer there.

“Where are you looking?”
